Just occurred to me that if people signed FAs tomorrow night, there will be no time to put them on their teams. Which I'm fine with, but defeats the purpose.
So if you want to sign anyone, you should export tonight by the normal deadline and I'll sim a week or so to get us past the trade deadline and to have those guys sign. |

Claphamsa has been nagging me over gchat for hours about this and I guess it's worked.
We'll keep it going. If I nag wolvie into exporting occasionally, we can drop Columbus, San Diego, Portland and Wyoming and be at 16. When I get busy, we'll just work around my schedule as we have before. See. More randomness. |

So reminder.
Tonight we'll sim just a week to get those FAs signed to teams. Then we'll sim the rest of the season tomorrow. Friday is post-season.

While there's normally no cap check other than at the beginning of the year, that doesn't mean teams would be allowed to go over the cap in what amounts to a special stage of FA

So if you put in a bid that put you over the cap and it gets accepted, I'm going to void it and give the next team in line the player provided it doesn't do the same to them. Just a heads up.

I'm thinking that we were a victim of this? The contracts are only for 2 months (for this season), so doesn't the game allow for this (ie a 9 million contract would only count 3 million against player expenses)? That's why we were allowed to put in bids that would, under normal offseason circumstances, put us over the cap. Oh well, it doesn't really matter....because....

Pike is an old FOOL 1.0 guy who got in touch with me over at OOTP and says he'd like to join us. So he'll be taking over an expansion team stocked with players from one of the teams leaving unless this thread completely scared him off.

if you do the OOTP 14 thing, let me know.
Any chance we move this league to 14, or maybe re-start with 14? BTW, I also like the randomness.

I'd kind of like to be done with this particular league file. Player ratings are all out of whack and shit and I'd sort of enjoy a chance for us to start over.
I don't anticipate parallel leagues at the moment, I think we'll retire the original league at some point and go to 14. But we'll let the kinks get worked out of 14 before diving straight in. |

That would be smart. The ratings are borked.

What we'll do is, bring our franchises over to the new game whenever we decide to switch, we'll just clear the league's players and start with an entire new base. So it'll be the best of both worlds in that sense. I'd prefer not to lose the history, just figure it'd be nice to start over and get the ratings back to normal.
But like I said, we'll wait a bit before doing that.

Only problem....I'm having to wait to a get a new license from OOTP, my OOTP 13 isn't working for whatever reason...too many activations I guess.
I'm all for moving to 14. |

Did you write them and tell them to wipe out one of them or both? I've done that and they're relatively responsive and will do it and then you should be able to load it. Shouldn't be a huge wait unlike say FOF where you might wait months. These guys should be in touch within a day or two if you use the OOTP ticket system.
