With nothing else to go own, JeeberD is my leading candidate to based on the their vs. our distinction. I knew it's minor but right now that is the only incrimininating thing anyone has said.

Vote Mr. Wednesday
I've going back and forth between voting and abstaining, since the odds of us catching a creature are pretty low on day 1. Regardless, sorry Mr. Wed. Little quick on the trigger on Jeeber there, for what I'm banking is merely a bad choice in pronouns. |

The idea of abstention is an attractive one -- this early in the game we're much more likely to lynch a non-creature. The only problem is, we learn next to nothing from a non-lynching, while the creatures have many options on killing, or now even creating another creature. With this many people in the game, they probably have what...25 targets? At least?
I don't like it, but I think we have to lynch someone today.

Agreed. We HAVE to lynch someone. Voting patterns are one of the best clues in the game as the days progress.

The Sherrifs/Spys are interesting roles. Would any of them truely be motivated to convert bandits to to their own when they know they will probably need the bandits attacking skills to take out creatures?

Lynching on the first day just feels so random. But maybe we'll get lucky and get a creature right of the bat (like Werewolf V).

IMO abstaining is bad for us bandits. I mean all we can go by right now it voting patterns and what people say. Giving the spys and creatures an extra turn tonight would be bad IMO.

Ok, well I'm out for a few hours to do some out-of-the-house work...I should be back by about 3:30/4:00 PST (yes, I'm a west coast folken). In an effort to make the most informed vote possible (that rings so hollow on day one), I'm going to wait until then to decide.

I don't think abstaining gets us anwhere either.
I think we need to take a shot at finding a creature. We may get lucky, but if we don't we'll have some record for going forward. |

If we abstain, it puts us in the same position tomorrow with very little information to make a decision.

Just so we're clear, this is not my reasoning. Mrsimperless was the one who first made an issue of Jeeber's wording and Mr Wednesday was first to vote against him because of it. I just mentioned that it was better than nothing. I haven't even decided if I want to vote against him due to this slip or not yet. I want to make sure this is clear because if Jeeber is not a creature, I don't want this vote used against me later because people think I'm leading the charge against Jeebs. Right now, Jeeber is my prime suspect (only because we have so little to go on), but I'm still deciding how to vote. |

Very true. I agree that the initial posts must have careful wording...otherwise, you are a big target for the lynch mob.

One thing to note is that the factions in this game are not as cut and dried as my last one, in other words the Sheriff's men and bandits don't like each other but that Spy information could be critical, so I imagine they may well try to share it. On the other hand they could be killed for it by the bandits at the end of the game once most of the creatures are gone.

Alot of non-posters so far. Please chime in peeps. I'm not ready to turn of Jeeber just yet. So far in the versions of the game I have found that grammatical errors tend to lead to a villagers more then a wolfy

I'm looking at a couple of gramatical things because, quite frankly, it's all we have to go on. Although Jeeber has been kinda quiet since he was brought up for lynching. But there are other things that have caught my eye.

In all seriousness, lynching on the first day has a high degree of randomness, and to this point the grammatical mistake of Jeeber which is really a more telling mistake than most random mistakes has him up there on my list.

Well, yeah. CW's already going after me for that. And who knows what happens if I'm wrong? (Assuming, of course, that we do go through with lynching Jeeber...)

I don't know about the etiquette of doing this, but I usually lean toward voting for a non-poster on the first day unless there is a real reason to go after somebody else.
Whether or not Jeeber's quote is a "real reason" is what I'm trying to decide for myself right now. |

I have to leave for class in an hour. Hate to do it, but have to vote early and hope I'm right. Doing that got me lynched in WWV (inadvertently supporting a wolf), so I hope I get it right this time.

I don't think it's a "real reason". But it's as much of a reason as not posting IMO. The first day vote is completely random, so it's as much to go off of as anything else. Sorry Jeebs... I love you, but I just can't smile.

Filed away for future reference. Much more nuanced than Jeeber's slip, though.

Ok, the boss has left and I am out for the day. Might be back online later but I'm not sure. For now I am going to vote for a non-poster and see where that goes.
Going through the thread posts list I only found one player who hasn't checked in yet. I vote for Qwikshot
