Literally none but figuratively, and through no fault of his own, far more than OBL could ever hope to set off. Every apostle and every disciple who went off to spread "the word" knew that they could be killed and many were and eventually, their followers took to killing those who didn't believe as they did and the bloody history of christianity, and by extension islam as well were born by the figurative human bombs who took their teachers word and went out to convert the masses, by whatever means necessary.

I'm hoping you see the distinction here. Last edited by Arles : 03-02-2005 at 05:06 PM. |

Unless we've missed some important news, Osama bin Laden hasn't actually set off any suicide bombs. |

Ok, now the thread has morphed into comparing Jesus Christ vs. Osama.

Of course I'm seeing the distinction here Arles, just like I see the distinction between GWB and OBL. In that case, I'm no fan of either man but to consider them in the same category is laughable. I still can see the humor in the cartoon though. Now, if you asked me whose actions were more dangerous/harmful to the world between Jesus and OBL, I would say Jesus and I am a huge fan of his. I don't think he did it on purpose nor would he have allowed it to happen had he been around but the damage he set off rates far higher than the damage OBL can hope to accomplish. Consider it a measure of the men in question though. In no way can OBL inspire anywhere near as well as Jesus did. He's nothalf the man to do it.

Good point but it reminded me of the old Monty Python bit about the 20 year reunion of the kamikaze pilots where the hall was empty except for one guy.

You usually don't make it past the first one... Christ would have a definite advantage in that competition. |
