As the person who likely eats the most bacon on FOFC, I apologize for the late notice and recommend that everyone celebrate tomorrow if you failed to do so today.
Today is International Bacon Day! The wiki site says its an "unofficial" observance, but I assume that's a typo. Last edited by Radii : 09-05-2015 at 09:15 PM. |

That's a hefty gauntlet to throw down.

As long as I don't slip up and dive into carbs the rest of the year (I think I'm good now, I fucked up a few times this summer), I will end up eating at least 3 strips of thick-cut bacon, though usually 4 or 5, about 275 days this year. In 2014 where I literally had two cheat days all year w/ carbs, that was probably closer to 330 days or so. Maybe Ron Swanson is on the board and I'm not aware of it, but my assumption was not made lightly I will happily celebrate with any challengers, as we are all winners here! |

It has been a while but how did that go, Schmidty? I plan on smoking a slab of bacon next weekend. I am going to to cure it this week, then smoke it next Saturday. I am going to cure it with curing salt #1, maple syrup, dark drown sugar and ground pepper.

Bacon is fine in strips next to my eggs for breakfast. It is not an ingredient or a topping or something to wrap around things.
I don't know what the hell happened to the world in the late 90s or whenever it was when people starting flipping tf out over bacon, but it's really weird. Last edited by MJ4H : 03-31-2024 at 12:45 AM. |

Very few things are worthy of being wrapped in bacon. I think I see the real problem though. "Strips" is the wrong word for the correct quantity of bacon. "Stacks" is really the minimum acceptable level.
