St. Louis has a magic number of 9
Stafford has a magic number of 12

Cleveland has a magic number of 8
Virginia Beach has a magic number of 11

If Stafford can hold on, this would be their second trip to the playoffs in franchise history!

Red-Hot Bat: Price Collects Cycle
Sunday, September 26th, 2004: Getting 4 hits in a game is no easy feat, but hitting for the cycle is much more rare. Mike Price was on fire today, going 4 for 5 and hitting for the cycle against Ann Arbor at Ann Arbor Grounds. His batting escapade sparked the Maricopa Rattlers to a 15-1 victory over the Wolverines. For the day the Rattlers left fielder scored 4 runs and drove in 5.

The feat is rare in baseball as it requires a game of no fewer than four hits and the unusual combination of a home run, which requires a batter to hit for some power, and a triple, which requires a batter to have both speed on the basepaths and a well-placed drive deep into the outfield.

He told reporters after the game, "It just happened. Must have been fate or something... you can't plan this. I was more concerned with winning the game."

M. Price walked in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off P. Rosas in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.

In 156 games this year Price has posted a .293 average and put up these numbers: 16 home runs, 97 RBIs and 108 runs scored.

Well damn! Didn't expect that. I just wish we could have beaten Havana at the end there.

I decide to let all the FA's go and get the minors stocked and I make the playoffs? How does that work?

WOW

To say I am a little disappointed is not doing what I am feeling right now any justice.

Such a bitter sweet season on so many levels, and I haven't even downloaded the file yet.

From the looks of it, that Gomez trade had me looking like a damn bandit!!

Congrats Spot on crushing my hopes and dreams and for reserving another ticket for me on the couch for a Friday SIM!

Really though, grats to the playoff teams.

I'm off to download the file and to download some emo music from itunes...

Congrats to the Cucumbers on being the only team to lose 100 games this. Did me proud in my first season!

Well congrats playoff folks. I'm glad I got to play kinda-spoiler on Cleveland. I have to think that if I beat them out for that free agent OF this offseason that I would have been the one in the playoffs, with them looking in from the outside. Oh well.

I'd also like to add that I officially sucked at signing a big name hitter this season. First Teach beats me out, then Cleveland, and then at the start of the season Chief grabs the last big bat available out from under me. If if if...

I would like to point out that SP Pena was a bit of a steal though. That dude carried me I think.

I'm pretty sure that only running with 9 pitchers and 9 hitters has something to do with your problem. I'm not trying to be a dick about it, but your guys are going to get tired. You had almost no pen, and nobody to give your batters an AB off here and there.

Well I had no choice this year to run with 18, but the previous years I was around the 22 or 23 people on the roster and we still didn't perform with that pitching staff. I've had this pitching staff plus Pena for quite some time and never got anywhere......

Normally I agree, there is very little reason to run with only 9 pitchers and it did probably hurt him some.. But his pitching was actually ok despite having that obstacle.

The hitting on the other hand... a team OPS+ of 83 means your hitting was across the board subpar.

The best hitter for you, Price was only barely above average, and your second best hitter was pretty darn almost exactly average.

Everyone else was below average for their position as far as hitting goes this season.

Also, it looks like your 3B was pretty solid defensively, you just can't have an every day player hit .173

Grats to fellow playoff teams.... it would be to sweet to repeat - but as always some tough teams to get past before I can even think repeat.

Good luck!

I NEEDED and really wanted a stud OF... money wasn't going to be a factor

I think pitching is going to kill me in the playoffs - time will tell
