I think it was you, me, and clap? Not sure if there was anyone else. I remember that, because it was right after the Cubicle game I just mentioned, where I was on the opposite wolf team as you, then the next one I was on the same wolf team. This was all during my run of at least three games in a row of being a wolf, and being the first wolf on my team to get lynched. ETA: Just remembered, it was the money game. ETAA: I didn't get scanned any of those times that I was the first wolf on my team to get lynched. I just suck! Last edited by Passacaglia : 04-01-2008 at 10:26 AM. |

Mr. W got converted and was part of that email grouping in the Money game Pass and Alan have been talking about.

Was Hoops playing in that game? I remember there was one game where Hoops was a viable convert target, and we purposely chose not to convert Hoops just because we wanted to be nice wolves. I don't remember if it was that game or a different one. |

Yep, Schmidty used a villager kill power on me (a villager) on Night 5 or something like that. Good times. That was one of the most frustrating games to follow along with after the fact as it seemed so very winnable for the villagers, especially after Chief Rum spot-on nailed the bad guys before he was night killed. |

Yeah, that was the one. I think it turned out that he also had a pretty low "buy-out" number -- but we were pretty well set on spending the full 100K anyway, |

I'll keep converting you. You are great to have around as a wolf, precisely because a) you're the most paranoid wolf I've ever seen which leads to b) you think of scenarios that are just so crazy they might work!!!!.

I remember in the start of the heros game I signed onto my email account after a class and had about 2 pages and I said to my wife St. Cronin really needs AIM.

I never like to chat anymore because every time I have it's when I've been a wolf, so I thought people would eventually figure if I was online in AIM then they should vote for me......

I just tell people to hit me up on google talk -- lurker and I use that to chat while we're at work, so I'm always on there anyway.

Conversions in general suck, imo. I would like to see them become less frequent in our games.

Conversions to me seem to primarily be a tool to try to counter a seer role. A way to discredit the information that villagers "know" for certain. I think that GMs who don't like conversions could probably use things like a modified fool role, or some mechanism to affect the way a seer receives their information (either through randomness or direct mis-information) to provide the same type of effect. I'm trying to remember if I've ever been converted... My memory is fuzzy. |

I think an early conversion is alright. After a certain point I think it's more frustrating for the convert. Though I think I prefer a sorcerer role in a game to having a conversion available.

Haha that's right, I just read in some other thread that WW posts don't bump the post count. Perhaps I'll revel in always having a 0 post count because I don't know anything about FOFC.
I know this game by the name Mafia so I'm off to see what the differences are, if any. |

For all intents and purposes Werewolf and Mafia are pretty similar, just different mechanisms for certain elements of the game. We pretty much call all of our games here at this forum "Werewolf" even though we quite often have games that don't resemble Werewolf at all other than in name. This game likely will probably be closer to mafia in many cases than a werewolf game, so probably not necessarily a great game to get a classic werewolf example |

I've made a late addition to the rules in post #2. It is simply the normal standardized rules I include in all of my games.. Play nice, don't do this, don't edit posts, etc.
Since we have an extra 3 days or so before the game starts, this is a good time for any questions that anyone may have regarding the rules to be answered beforehand. |

I personally hate being converted. I tried to give players some control over their conversion in my Money Game and it seemed to produce OK results as Mr. W seemed alright with having been converted. I'm not sure though that this was the right thing. I was technically converted in Alan's Big City game but had no problems with that since it was my goal to be converted, so I was never really attached to the good guys to begin with.
While I agree that there is a certain amount of trust disruption in a conversion, I also see it as a way to give the wolves an extra number without giving them another full wolf. The sorcerer's role can be similar, but they don't, traditionally, count in end game purposes for the wolves which is a minus to them. |

Interesting. I now have a wider understanding of certain aspects of game play and how other roles can be played.
Where would I find a Mafia game to preuse through? |

Here is probably a good place to start learning about the Mafia game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_Game I think we had 29 or so in one game, but we've had 20+ a bunch before. |

Yup, I know I had 24 or so for Jack the Ripper. And even then that wasn't the most ever at that point (that game was played about 16 months ago).

That's fine when there's someone level-headed around to make sure we still make the sensible moves. Not so good if I'm allowed to decide what we should do. I've been thinking it would be pretty neat if there was a way to create a sub-forum for the wolves, which is hidden to everyone else. I'd love to read what wolves have been saying to each other after a game. But I realise that would be impossible to implement here. |

I couldn't find the one that I thought had 29 people. Looking through, I saw both Saldana's Harry Potter game and St.Cronin's Rome game had 28 people in them.
