I was going to go to this since Wrigley is walking distance for me and I take graduate classes at Northwestern. But I went to the Winter Classic a few years ago and you just don't have a good view of anything. Sure football is different, but it's not going to good. Just an expensive ticket to something that would seem much cooler than it really is.

Good on both Boise State and Georgia; good to see Boise bolstering their schedule, and good to see an SEC team willing to schedule a good out of conference opponent and give Boise a chance to show their mettle.

Of course, this will be their second meeting. We played them at the begining of their run, but it wasn't their best team and we stomped the pretty good. This is likely to be a pay-back unless something dramatic changes.

Georgia won't be as highly ranked going in as VT was this year.

RB Dillon Baxter not w USC on Oregon St trip after school found out he had contact w/ someone who may be an agent, according to Lane Kiffin.

Man Boise State's defense is lights out this year. Fresno isn't the best offense by any means, but BSU has done this to everyone this season, and really going back to last year against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

In its 1st 10 possessions, Fresno had 8 3-and-outs, 2 TOs and about 60ish total yards. Insane.

RE: One end zone conversation

About 20 years back, the lights went out for one half of the field at a local high school game. They decided to continue play, stopping any run past midfield and turning the around to go back to the end zone. Two plays in that game looked like they would have been touchdown runs of the 70 yard variety. Instead, the offense took over on the 35 after the officials stopped play. In both cases, the offense did not put points on the board.

Just a horrendous night for the officials. I thought they should have called the game and tried again in the morning/afternoon. The worst call I saw was a punt returner dropping a punt in the darkened side of the field and having it awarded to the other team. Should have never been an issue.

I hope Wisconsin scores 100 today. And wins. Big. Then a similar result next week in Columbus.

Michigan's defense is actually hanging in there so far, and their offense is epic fail so far. Weird.

I'm usually in the camp of being okay with the number of bowl games, but ...

In less than an hour, GT plays Duke with a chance to become bowl eligible.
Tonight, Tennessee plays Vandy & with a win tonight, would then become bowl eligible by beating Kentucky next week.

If GT & UT are bowl teams, then maybe there are indeed too many bowl games.

Yes, I know the point he was making. Still is ridiculous to me. I'm a Michigan fan and would never want them to lose no matter the situation.

I was told I wasn't a Michigan fan when I said Michigan was dead to me at the beginning of the season. Whatever. I have a rather hard time cheering for that team as long as RR is there. I despise him more than Spurrier when he was at Florida and that's saying a lot.

Well, Tolzien is 11 for 11.

Oh, and it's now 17-0. My guess Robinson, who is doing next to nothing, well get replaced again.

Meh, if you told me Wisconsin just got to 17 points at the 4 minute mark of the 1st half, I'd consider that pretty decent for as incredibly awful as these guys are and what Wisconsin's managed in general.

Now that the O is down 3 scores, they can probably put together a drive now to make it look like they're something other than inept against elite Big Ten talent.

I was born into a Michigan family and thus have been a U of M fan my entire life. With that being said, I was hoping they would go 0-12 this year so asshat Rodriquez would get fired and we could get a real coach back in Ann Arbor. Les Miles would have been a much better choice than the clown that is there now, but that entire situation was a clusterfuck, so look where we are now: the laughingstock of the Big 10.

Well, it's 24-0 and it looks like a scrimmage when Wisconsin is on offense.

It's been difficult the last few years. I'd rather see Michigan go winless with a coach I respect than win 7 with RR. If I had a son who was the same age as my daughter (she's a HS Senior) being recruited today, I'd ask him to go to Penn State over Michigan if they keep RR. At least then he could tell his grandkids he played for a great coach.

I don't expect it to hold, but boy would it be sweet to have MSU lose.

And Wisconsin gets a TD.

Could someone please explain to the SEC that no one wants to watch football snuff films in November? It's fine in September because we've been missing it since the previous winter. Georgia State, Appalachian State, Troy, LA-Monroe, UTEP, Charleston Southern, Idaho State, LA-Lafayette, Memphis?

I thought the SEC played elite competition EVERY week?

Some of these games are so ridiculous I hope they're skipping the usual weekly player paychecks.

South Carolina is 56-7 on Troy ... the same Troy team that lost to Oklahoma State by 3.

Wow, MSU the luckiest team at the moment. They've got so many 2009 Iowa like wins. Jeeeeeeez. It would have been nice to have the Badgers just need to win next week to get the ticket to the Rose Bowl. Now we've gotta semi root for Ohio St now to keep winning or Penn St to win next week against MSU. Purdue won't do anything in the last four minutes.. They suck.

FYI for those that did not see the PU/MSU ending.. Purdue goes 3 and out with a 3 pt lead with 4 minutes to go, punts the ball, gets it blocked, MSU ball on the 3 yard line. They make a stop or two, Cousins on a QB Keeper runs it towards the end zone, fumbles it at the 1, ball rolls into endzone, Boiler can't fall on it and MSU OL falls on it for a TD and then Purdue does nothing on offense and then ball game.. Ugly.

Duke is en route to solving the GT-as-a-bowl-team problem. It's 13-6 Duke at the half, Jackets have been outgained 227-136 so far.

Of course, it CPJ keeps thinking there's a reason to go for it on 4th down at the 50 in spite of being only 1-8 on 3rd down & playing with a backup QB then the blame starts to fall pretty clearly on his increasingly befuddled head.

Best wishes to Yale LB Jesse Reising who was carted off the field on a back board. Scary play that at the very least knocked him out cold, and, well, let's not think about the worst. Marine ROTC and lots of accolades. Hope it is not serious.

As for The Game...fourth win in a row for Harvard, despite being outplayed for much of the game. Special teams were the difference, with a KO return TD, a blocked punt and a shanked punt giving Harvard the ball deep in Yale territory being the difference. 28-21 good guys!

Go Crimson!

They sure cut into the LSU-Ole Miss game to show the pick 6 at Wrigley (which you knew there would be). I like how his teammate tackled him before he could do a flying leap into the wall (which is what I would've done so I'm assuming he would've done).

Why are they playing at Wrigley?

Can't hold as many fans. Many of the fans are much farther from the action than they would be in a game at either college's home stadium. Many of the fans are getting screwed and are always watching the game go the other direction. They have to change directions every time the ball changs hands.

Not one logical reason for it.

Except for all of the attention on Northwestern football this week? Pretty much a week long recruiting/marketing plug.

Pretty much genius.
