10. Close Combat - A Bridge Too Far.

I'm more of an operational level type player, but I really enjoyed this game. It was the only one of the series I played, but I played this a lot.

9. Talonsoft Games - West Front, East Front, etc.

West Front was my favorite of the series, but I really enjoyed these. Good graphics for the time and great game play.

8. Front Office Football - Wasn't my first text sim, but it was about my favorite sport. Though I might argue it's greatest achievement was helping me find this forum where I get all sorts of good info, the game itself was fun. Still have the original game.

7. Rollercoaster Tycoon - Just a fun game to play. First game my wife got addicted too as well and helped her understand my gaming addiction.

6. Panzer General (Allied, Pacific) - Great war series. My favorite straight war series ever. Was very excited to find a version that works on Windows 7.

5. Railroad Tycoon - Liked the first 2 much better than the third. Always been a train buff and my kids all love Thomas. One of the few games I could spend an entire night playing.

4. Football Manager - In all its various forms. Think I started playing in 1998 or so. Not nearly addicted to it as I used to be, but it's still the best PC sports game ever and I play it probably just as much as I play Madden. I find PC gaming much more relaxing for some reason.

3. Europa Universalis - I'll include Victoria and HOI in this group as well. Victoria was one I had a soft spot for, but EU III is just an amazing game. Love the openness and strategy to it. Best friend from school and I played the heck out of this online.

2. SimCity - Tough to choose between this and Europa but I think the kicker is if I had a Saturday to blow, I'd be more likely to play this. 4 is the best version.

1. Civ - Even though I hated 3, I loved 2, 4, and 5 is growing on me. If I start a game up, it's literally all I play for a week or two. And unlike any other game, I can repeatedly fire it up without getting bored.

I never played KOTOR though it ranks as my favorite console game ever. Does it and KOTOR2 work on Windows 7? If so, I'll pick them up cheap sometime.

Honorable Mention: Plants vs. Zombies, Traffic Giant, Age of Empires, Age of Rifles, Medieval Total War I, and Rise of Nations.

I could just cut and paste your list.

I don't think I could do a top 10 if I had to restrict myself to games in the last, say, ten years. But in no particular order:

Police Quest
SimCity 2000
Front Office Football (the original)
CM 99/00 (where I finally started to 'get' soccer)
Torchlight
Civ IV: BtS
Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire
World Hockey Manager (although this is on my laptop, which is on its last legs, and I've no idea if I could transfer it to my desktop)
Neverwinter Nights

I'm not sure I'd include SimTower in my top ten, but it was a game I certainly enjoyed and wouldn't mind playing again.
