stlee, who are you following? As of now there are 5 undefeated teams left, and 9 winless teams. I suck with rankings, but right now I've got 2 teams in the top 10 that are 3-2. I'll be posting the new top 25 soon.
As for the postseason, I'm just going to go 64/32/32/16, everybody gets in. The only thing I'm still determining is how many autobids from each conference and who gets them. However, that is long down the road yet, I expect the actual 2012-2013 college basketball season to be over before I get this replay over, as I'm only able to average about 1 week of this sim for every 1 real week. |

Having a little trouble setting up the cross divisional round robin schedule. I can't find a good round robin generator for cross division. We're going to have each of the 8 teams from 1 division play each of the other 8 teams from the other division. Each team should end up with 4 road and 4 home games cross divisional. It's impossible to find anything like this on the internet. Fortunately I'm not at this point yet, but I was hoping to have an idea of how to set it up before I got to week 8.
As for week 6, I will be getting the top 25 polls up for it today, as well as hopefully the first couple of conference challenges |

Couldn't you have:
- East odds host the West odds and visit the West evens - East evens host the West evens and visit the West odds - West odds host the East evens and visit the East odds - West evens host the East odds and visit the East evens ? |

britrock, that is a good idea as far as declaring the home and away games. I like it. The only other thing would be to actually generate the schedule, but that shouldn't be too hard. I'll have to work with it. Thanks for the idea.

Week 6- SEC/MWC Challenge
The SEC/MWC Challenge is going to a familiar site: the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO (Thank goodness I only have 2 more weeks of selecting neutral sites.) Here are the results:
#20 Belmont- 69 vs. Nevada- 65 Southern Miss- 66 vs. New Mexico- 75 Auburn- 48 vs. Colorado St.- 68 South Carolina- 61 vs. Denver- 48 LSU- 46 vs. San Diego St.- 69 -- Jamaal Franklin had 18 points and 11 boards as the Aztecs rolled. #18 Memphis- 72 vs. BYU- 57 #7 Florida- 81 vs. South Dakota St.- 79 -- Kenny Boynton hit a three pointer with 5 seconds left and South Dakota St. couldn't get off a shot, as the Gators survive. Arkansas- 68 vs. TCU- 77 #8 Kentucky- 78 vs. Boise St.- 80 -- Anthony Drmic scored 20 to lead Boise to an upset win. Georgia- 74 vs. New Mexico St.- 61 Mid. Tenn. St.- 66 vs. Lamar- 71 Ole Miss- 69 vs. UNLV- 82 Alabama- 58 vs. #23 Weber St.- 59 -- Damian Lillard scored 26 for Weber, but it was a Kyle Tresnak buzzer beated that kept Weber undefeated. Tennessee- 69 vs. Wyoming- 52 -- The Vols outscored Wyoming 42-18 in the second half. #4 Vanderbilt- 73 vs. Air Force- 66 Mississippi St.- 81 vs. Montana- 75 SEC/MWC Wrap-Up The difference between the actual 2011-2012 Kentucky Wildcats and the WIS version of the 2011-2012 Kentucky Wildcats is night and day. The WIS version already has 3 losses, a far cry from the actual team that won the title with 1 loss. Weber St. remains undefeated by a point. And this Challenge was one for the record books, as it took 6 weeks, but we finally have our first tie of a challenge! That's right: Final Tally: MWC- 8..... SEC- 8 |

Week 6- Pac 12/Big Ten Challenge
The Pac 12/Big Ten Challenge takes place at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. Here are the results:
Colorado- 53 vs. #10 Michigan- 69 Long Beach St.- 74 vs. Illinois- 76 -- D.J. Richardson scored 22 points including the game winner. California- 80 vs. Purdue- 53 #17 Arizona- 71 vs. Northwestern- 75 -- Northwestern led almost the entire second half as they get a big win and drop Zona to 3 and 3. #21 Washington- 78 vs. Illinois St.- 61 USC- 46 vs. Penn St.- 59 Utah- 63 vs. Northern Iowa- 85 Stanford- 59 vs. #3 Wisconsin- 56 -- A huge upset here as Stanford holds Wisconsin to 34.5% shooting and gives them their first loss. Loyola Marymount- 68 vs. Butler- 58 Oregon- 66 vs. Michigan St.- 74 -- Draymond Green scored 28 points to lead the Spartans. Arizona St.- 74 vs. Iowa- 82 St. Marys- 63 vs. Nebraska- 50 UCLA- 59 vs. #22 Murray St.- 68 Oregon St.- 55 vs. #15 Ohio St.- 65 #19 Gonzaga- 83 vs. Minnesota- 77 Washington St.- 50 vs. #25 Indiana- 66 Pac 12/Big Ten Wrap-Up Obviously the upset of the challenge goes to Stanford over Wisconsin. Not that Stanford is a bad team, maybe Wisconsin has just been overachieving. In any case, that drops us to 5 undefeated teams, with 4 of the 5 yet to play, and the other one already winning this week. The Northwestern win over Arizona is a slight upset, but that makes Northwestern 5-1 now. Arizona is struggling bad. Final Tally: Big Ten wins 10 to 6 |

Week 6- Big East/A-Ten Challenge
The Big East/A-Ten Challenge takes place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Here are the results.
Georgetown- 69 vs. Charlotte- 56 Villanova- 78 vs. UMass- 76 (OT) -- Mouphtaou Yarou (what a name) had 16 points and 19 boards to lead Villanova. Rutgers- 58 vs. Rhode Island- 63 Pittsburgh- 73 vs. St. Bonaventure- 71 Seton Hall- 62 vs. St. Louis- 53 South Florida- 66 vs. George Mason- 59 DePaul- 60 vs. Fordham- 59 Providence- 54 vs. St. Joes- 75 #9 UConn- 70 vs. Lasalle- 57 Marquette- 90 vs. Duquesne- 80 -- Darius Johnson-Odom scored 30 for Marquette in what was a shootout. #16 Notre Dame- 74 vs. Dayton- 51 West Virginia- 56 vs. Richmond- 79 -- The Mountaineers led by 9 at halftime then fell apart in the second half. They were outscored 49-17 in the second half. Richmond shot almost 60% for the game. Louisville- 66 vs. #12 Temple- 65 -- Temple has now lost 2 straight, but their 2 losses are to pretty solid teams. Cincinnati- 45 vs. George Washington- 59 #14 Syracuse- 63 vs. VCU- 49 St. Johns- 54 vs. Xavier- 82 Big East/A-Ten Wrap-Up For the most part the Big East dominated this challenge, even getting a mild upset with Louisville beating Temple. Don't count the Owls out yet though, they should still be an NCAA Tournament team with ease. An intersting note, the A-Ten didn't have many wins in this challenge, but the 5 they did have were by an average of 18.2 points. Final Tally: Big East wins 11 to 5 |

Week 6- Big 12/ACC Challenge
The Big 12/ACC Challenge will again be taking place at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC. Here are the results:
Oklahoma St.- 59 vs. #1 North Carolina- 71 Ohio- 60 vs. Drexel- 62 -- 3 players combined to score 57 of Drexels 62 points: Damion Lee had 20, Samme Givens had 19, and Frantz Massenat had 18. Iowa St.- 53 vs. #6 Duke- 66 #2 Kansas- 68 vs. Wake Forest- 59 Oklahoma- 86 vs. Florida St.- 91 (OT) -- Carl Blair hit a three for Oklahoma at the buzzer to send the game into OT, but Florida St. controlled the extra 5 minutes, leading by as many as 10. Wichita St.- 62 vs. #24 Davidson- 75 Oral Roberts- 69 vs. N.C. State- 71 #13 Missouri- 77 vs. Clemson- 50 -- Michael Dixon scored 26 on 9 of 12 shooting for Mizzou. Texas A&M- 63 vs. Virginia- 60 Texas Tech- 68 vs. Harvard- 60 Marshall- 69 vs. Boston College- 44 #11 Texas- 71 vs. Georgia Tech- 61 #5 Baylor- 68 vs. Maryland- 72 -- Terrell Stoglin scored 20 to help Maryland beat Baylor in an upset. Creighton- 78 vs. Virginia Tech- 68 Akron- 70 vs. Miami- 60 Kansas St.- 61 vs. Loyola-Maryland- 72 Big 12/ACC Wrap-Up If I recall, Wichita St. and Davidson played in a bracket busters game a couple years ago, and the Shockers hammered Davidson. Not so in the WIS rematch. Also a bit surprising is Kansas St. losing to Loyola (MD). Also surprising to see Maryland beat Baylor. Other than that, things hold true to form. The top 2 teams (Carolina and Kansas) both win, but neither of them in really convincing fashion. Final Tally: Unbelievable, another tie. 8 to 8. A K-State victory would have given the Big 12 the challenge win, instead we have a tie. Dangit boys! |

Week 7- A-Ten/Big 12 Challenge
The A-Ten/Big 12 Challenge takes place back at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, KS. Here are the results:
George Mason- 73 vs. Marshall- 56 St. Bonaventure- 73 vs. Oklahoma- 57 Rhode Island- 82 vs. Wichita St.- 79 George Washington- 62 vs. Texas A&M- 72 Duquesne- 60 vs. #2 Kansas- 75 Fordham- 65 vs. Oklahoma St.- 86 Lasalle- 75 vs. Akron- 72 -- Earl Pettis had 28 points to lead Lasalle. VCU- 77 vs. Iowa St.- 80 Richmond- 68 vs. #8 Baylor- 59 -- Baylor blew a big lead in the first half, at one point leading 19-3. St. Louis- 73 vs. Oral Roberts- 78 Charlotte- 73 vs. Creighton- 75 (OT) -- Both teams had chances to win at the end of regulation, but Charlotte turned it over and Greg Echinique missed a buzzer beat. Creighton made enough free throws in OT to win. #16 Temple- 69 vs. Ohio- 60 UMass- 70 vs. #6 Texas- 55 -- UMass led 37-21 at halftime and that ended up being the difference. St. Joes- 59 vs. Kansas St.- 76 Dayton- 58 vs. Texas Tech- 56 Xavier- 80 vs. #12 Missouri- 78 A-Ten/Big 12 Wrap-Up A little surprised to see the A-Ten win this challenge, but they do have some really good schools. Can't believe my Shockers lost another one, dropping them to just 2-5 overall. Ouch! A far cry from the real Wichita State Shockers in 2011-2012. There were some dominating performances from both conferences. Final Tally: A-Ten wins 9 to 7 |

Quick question, what are you using to keep track of standings and schedules? I had something similar going a few months ago and I used excel and random dice rolls to determine schedules.

Week 7- Pac 12/Big East Challenge
The Pac 12/Big East Challenge will be held at the Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, NJ. Here are the results:
Long Beach St.- 72 vs. #13 Syracuse- 71 -- Casper Ware scored 25 and T.J. Robinson had 13, including the game winner, to lead Long Beach to the upset. #19 Gonzaga- 64 vs. Marquette- 55 Oregon- 58 vs. Georgetown- 69 Oregon St.- 87 vs. Providence- 96 -- Vincent Council had 22 to lead Providence in this high scoring affair. UCLA- 65 vs. Cincinnati- 62 Arizona- 68 vs. South Florida- 65 Colorado- 64 vs. Seton Hall- 73 (OT) California- 62 vs. #11 Notre Dame- 57 -- Allen Crabbe scored 23 to hand the Fightin Irish their first loss. Washington St.- 75 vs. DePaul- 84 Loyola Marymount- 41 vs. Louisville- 58 Stanford- 64 vs. #9 UConn- 67 #21 Washington- 74 vs. Villanova- 71 -- Washington rallied from a 9 point deficit late to get the win. Utah- 47 vs. West Virginia- 67 USC- 48 vs. St. Johns- 58 Arizona St.- 67 vs. Rutgers- 64 St. Marys- 81 vs. Pitt- 72 Pac 12/Big East Wrap-Up It wasn't a good week for ranked teams in the Big East, as 2 of the 3 lost, including previously undefeated Notre Dame. This drops us to 4 undefeated teams. Utah and USC are still winless and I'm beginning to wonder if either team will win a game, although one team will have to win when they face each other. Final Tally: Another tie, 8 to 8 |

Yeah how do you decide who plays who? Is it a random, conference vs conference each week, with a challenge such as the ACC/Big Ten Challenge they do each year? |

You are correct. The first 7 weeks is all non-conference, with each conference playing each other conference once, making 4 conference challenges a week. The matchups were decided by random draw (basically I had a sack for each conference, put all the team names in the sacks) and drew for matchups.
The next 8 weeks will be conference cross division, and last night I actually created that schedule. That makes 15 weeks. The other 14 weeks will be conference intra division, in which each team plays each other team in their division twice. Then we'll move onto the postseason somewhere down the road, maybe by summer. Hope that helps you out, anymore questions or comments feel free. Thanks for reading. |

Week 7- Big Ten/MWC Challenge
The Big Ten/MWC Challenge takes place at (you guessed it), the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. Here are the results:
#24 Indiana- 65 vs. Wyoming- 46 Purdue- 62 vs. Lamar- 69 Iowa- 70 vs. #22 Weber St.- 73 Illinois St.- 68 vs. South Dakota St.- 73 Illinois- 73 vs. Nevada- 72 -- Nevada had 3 shots to win in the last 18 seconds, getting 2 offensive rebounds but couldn't convert. #14 Ohio St.- 83 vs. TCU- 63 -- Jared Sullinger was a beast, scoring 27 points and pulling down 12 boards. #10 Michigan- 58 vs. Colorado St.- 68 Northern Iowa- 95 vs. Boise St.- 84 (2 OT) -- What a game this was, as Jeff Elorriaga hit a three at the buzzer for Boise to send the game into OT #1. Then in the first 5 extra minutes, Anthony James hit a 3 with 11 seconds left for Northern Iowa to cause a 2nd OT. In that OT the Panthers took control, shutting out Boise 11-0 to get the win. Minnesota- 64 vs. Denver- 60 #25 Northwestern- 82 vs. New Mexico St.- 91 (OT) -- John Shurna scored 27 for Northwestern but it wasn't enough as New Mexico St. got it done in OT. #5 Wisconsin- 46 vs. Air Force- 56 -- Air Force locked down defensively to pull the huge upset. Butler- 67 vs. San Diego St.- 56 #17 Murray St.- 71 vs. Montana- 70 (OT) -- Isaiah Canaan drilled a three pointer at the buzzer in OT and Murray St. avoided the same fate as many of their ranked Big Ten counterparts, surviving with a ninth life. Nebraska- 58 vs. BYU- 68 Michigan St.- 66 vs. New Mexico- 56 Penn St.- 68 vs. UNLV- 71 Big Ten/MWC Wrap-Up Wow what a challenge! What a series! 2 upsets, 3 OT games, 1 of which went double OT. Some high scoring individual performances, and the only undefeated team in this challenge remained undefeated, barely. With all that being said, is it really a surprise.... Final Tally: Well surprise surprise.. a tie. 8 to 8. The MWC can thank Air Force and New Mexico St. pulling upsets to get this tie. |

It's pretty fun. Scheduling isn't too bad really if you just kinda randomize it like I have been. What is most time consuming is actually deciding the top 25 every week. That is one area where I'm not good at, and I expect to get some flack when it comes time for the NCAA tournament and I announce the brackets for it. But oh well.
Be interested to see yours as well, to see how it is doing. |

Week 7- ACC/SEC Challenge
The last challenge of the 2011-2012 season is the ACC/SEC Challenge. It will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Here are the results:
Clemson- 61 vs. #20 Belmont- 64 Virginia Tech- 54 vs. Alabama- 55 Florida St.- 71 vs. Tennessee- 57 N.C. State- 70 vs. #15 Kentucky- 61 -- The slide continues for poor Kentucky as Lorenzo Brown scored 17 to lead the way for N.C. State. Georgia Tech- 63 vs. LSU- 59 Harvard- 77 vs. Arkansas- 84 (OT) Virginia- 62 vs. #3 Vanderbilt- 68 Maryland- 58 vs. Mississippi St.- 65 Loyola (MD)- 58 vs. Southern Miss- 69 Boston College- 50 vs. #7 Florida- 64 Miami- 66 vs. Ole Miss- 57 #1 North Carolina- 71 vs. Georgia- 54 -- Tyler Zeller scored 18 points and grabbed 11 boards as North Carolina stayed undefeated going into conference play. Drexel- 60 vs. South Carolina- 55 Wake Forest- 61 vs. Auburn- 52 #4 Duke- 85 vs. Mid. Tenn. St.- 78 #23 Davidson- 70 vs. #18 Memphis- 71 -- A great game, as Davidson loses their first one but they rallied from a 15 point deficit, but couldn't get off a good shot with the last possession. ACC/SEC Wrap-Up A fitting end to the non-conference schedule, with no major upsets. Only 3 teams remain winless with Davidsons loss, and North Carolina looks really strong. But as we all know, conference play will change everything. Final Tally: I'll be darned, another tie |

The Top 25 would be pretty difficult. I've got an excel spreadsheet that has RPI and SOS calculated in. All you have to do is put the W%, the Opponents W% and the Opponents, opponents w% and it gives you RPI and SOS. I ended up adding a column that averages the two, so those are going to help me with my tourney's. I may not even do a top 25. Still in the early stages of mine.

And at long last, here are the standings after non-conference play that you all have been waiting so patiently for..
Couple questions, are you guys ok with the East and West divisions, even though they aren't exactly geographically located that way? Or would you prefer division 1 and division 2. Also, how often do you want me to post standings? After every week, every other week, after a few weeks? I'm open to ideas. |

Week 8- ACC
Finally, we get to the heart of the NCAA WIS season.. conference play! We begin in the ACC, where we've got some exciting matchups. The thing I like most about conference play is no more trying to figure out neutral sites! That was absoultely killing me! Anyhow, here are the results of the first week of conference play for the ACC:
Wake Forest- 74 @ Maryland- 78 -- Terrell Stoglin scored 26 to get the Terps off to a good start in conference play. Florida St.- 74 @ Drexel- 83 -- Drexel had 2 guys with over 20 points: Damion Lee with 24 and Chris Fouch with 22. Boston College- 37 @ Harvard- 64 Georgia Tech- 59 @ Clemson- 63 #4 Duke- 77 @ Miami- 75 -- Duke needed a Ryan Kelly three pointer at the buzzer to stave off Miami and be the first road team to win so far. N.C. State- 88 @ Virginia Tech- 62 Virginia- 60 @ Loyola (MD)- 52 Davidson- 73 @ #1 North Carolina- 77 -- A gallant effort by Davidson, but just not quite enough. Week 8 ACC Wrap-Up We almost had a big time upset as Davidson nearly knocked off the Tarheels, and Duke almost got beat as well. Overall some fairly close games, but also a couple big blowouts. |

Week 8- Big 12
Texas Tech- 64 @ Oklahoma- 48 -- A bit of a stunner in Norman as Jordan Tolbert scored 25 to lead Texas Tech to a big win.
#11 Baylor- 68 @ Marshall- 65 #25 Creighton- 77 @ Akron- 68 Wichita St.- 66 @ Oklahoma St.- 65 -- A controversial ending to this game. Le'Bryan Nash hit a three pointer with 10 seconds to go, tying the game at 65. Then Tekele Cotton drew a foul for the Shockers on an off balance prayer as the buzzer went off. He made the first free throw to end the game and send the Cowboys to the locker room steaming. Kansas St.- 76 @ Texas A&M- 70 Iowa St.- 73 @ Oral Roberts- 64 #14 Missouri- 83 @ #8 Texas- 85 -- Another great game as Phil Pressey gave Missouri an 83-82 lead with 2 seconds left, but Julien Lewis won the game for Texas with a three pointer at the buzzer! Ohio- 75 @ #2 Kansas- 68 -- Ohio led by 12 at halftime and hung on in the second half, upsetting the Jayhawks and giving them their first loss of the season. |

Here is the top 25 as we enter Week 9.
As a way of speeding this up a bit, the rest of cross division play (Weeks 9-15) will be done quickly. There won't be a conference wrap-up or an end of week wrap-up. I will just announce the top 25, every so often post the standings, and then do the game results and a few recaps. Starting with inter division play (Week 16) I will be making some changes to the format. Hope you all are enjoying. |
