The quizzes are the only way to eliminate another player.
edit: a point of clarification. There aren't "teams" in this game really at all. I may occasionally ask you to divide yourselves into teams for a particular mission, but it would only be because that mission requires that separation. This game is all about identifying the mole. If you do that, you survive, if you don't you go home. Last edited by MJ4H : 08-10-2008 at 11:23 AM. |

some reality game shows work that way samifan, but not the Mole. It's eliminations are purely based on the quiz, though in the latest Mole one player was "bribed"-they took money to leave the game before seeing the results of the quiz.

An interesting thing about that bribe. In season 2, they bribed a player to leave, too. She took the money, got up and walked out. They talked to the remaining players a bit and then Andreson Cooper said "ok, now let's continue with the execution." The look on the players' faces was great. The music started up, he started his usual monologue about entering names one by one into the computer, and then he broke into a big smile and said "just kidding." The players all laughed. This season, they bribed a girl, she got up and left, then Jon came back and said "let's continue with the execution." Same look of shock on their faces. This time, no smile. Red print came up for one player, and two people left that week.
The Mole can be brutal. ![]() |

Alright. We can sit around at the mercy of someone that's not going to show up or we can go forward. I'm making the decision to go forward.
This is Team 1's picture. It is missing one quadrant because I did not and likely am not going to receive a submission. Team 2, you have 48 hours from now to come to a majority vote on your answer for what this picture represents. Remember team 1, no helping! ![]() |

The NW quadrant along with the gray color of two of the quadrants makes me vote for an *elephant*

So let me understand because I've not seen the show either. We need to keep track of who we think might be bad and then answer questions about that during the quiz? Is it like voting in WW?

I can see why elephant, but there's something that looks a little weird about that upper left -- it's a strange head, isn't it? Seems like the trunk starts too high, but that could just be my imagination.
(Not to denigrate anyone's artistic ability of course -- not like mine is any good).

It reminds me of this so far, except with a lot more pointless squabbling. Though I expect we'll get there eventually.

I have 2 votes for elephant. If either Passacaglia or path12 were to vote elephant, then it would become official. Otherwise, one of those that voted for elephant will need to have their mind changed.

Alright that makes it official. 3 votes for elephant.
The correct answer is elephant. Congratulations! $20,000 is added to the group pot for a total of $40,000. Next up: THE QUIZ. |

I thank whoever did the upper left corner since that screamed elephant to me. Pizza was indeed easier than elephant. My feeble south east corner was an attempt to do legs. I like the coloring I did, but my perspective sucks.

I haven't seen the show either, but my understanding is that your responses in the quiz aren't going to get anyone else eliminated, so it's not "voting" in that sense. It's just a test of your knowledge on the mole, and whoever does worst in it gets booted out. One of the questions will probably be "Who is the Mole?" but your answer won't affect anything other than your quiz score. |

THE QUIZ IS READY
As of now, the quiz is ready for you to request. Please send me a PM when you will have some time to take the quiz. If I don't respond immediately to your PM, I will probably send a double confirmation to you, to make sure you are still around when I do get back to you. So, your next step is to send me a PM saying "I am ready for the quiz" when you are ready to take it. Time is critical, so please keep that in mind. If you tie for the lowest score on the quiz, if you have the slowest time amongst those with the lowest score, you are the one that is executed. Time is calculated from the time I send you your quiz via PM to the time I receive your answers. The quiz this time is 8 questions. They are multiple choice, so all you have to do is send me 8 letters. The 8 multiple choice answers in order. Good luck, players! |

Yeah team two! Glad I got to do the trunk part of that picture, but even then I struggled drawing it. I don't think I would have guessed elephant looking at those other two quadrants thoiugh. Tried adding tusks and ears to mine, but it just looked pretty hideous and unrecognizable when I did.

3/8 quizzes have been taken. We may take some extra time because of the extreme situation BrianD has encountered in his personal life. I plan to give him as long as he needs or to excuse him from the game if that's what he prefers. In that case, I would actively seek a replacement.

I should have some time to take the quiz today. I'm at the point where preparations have generally been made and now we sit and wait. I'll probably be needing lots of distractions today. Sorry for slowing things down.

You don't need to worry about slowing things down at all. Take all the time you need. Just let us know what you want to do. Silly games don't need to be weighing on your mind right now.
That said, just send me a PM if you want the quiz and I'll ship it. |

Also while we wait, I guess, here is a clip from Season 2 of The Mole showing a typical quiz and execution. Our upcoming execution will look very similar to the one here.

Welcome to the first execution of The FOFC Mole.
We began our journey just 5 short days ago with 8 players. Tonight, we will be just 7. The journey ends for one player, now. You have each just completed your first quiz. 8 questions about the mole. The person who scores the lowest on the quiz will be executed--the mole's first victim of the game. In the video below, I will be entering your names into the computer, one at a time. I will choose the names randomly. If a green screen thumbprint appears after your name, you are safe and may continue playing the game. If, however, a red screen appears, you are the mole's first victim. You must leave the game immediately. Please refrain from discussing the outcome of the quiz outside of spoiler tags for at least 24 hours after this post to avoid ruining the execution video for those that haven't watched it yet. To use spoiler tages, simply surround your text with {spoiler}this text is hidden{/spoiler} but using [ ] instead of { }. Good luck. |

The group pot now stands at $40,000. If only that were real. I might make these missions a little harder so I could keep some. Maybe the mole and I could split it.
Seven players remain. Seven active, interested players. That part is good. Only six players are really interested in winning this next challenge, though. One of them has their eye open for an opportunity to subvert your efforts. Mission #3: Human Minesweeper With seven trustworthy players this next mission might be manageable. Let's find out how it is with your real situation, shall we? You find yourself on an island. On this island with you are four primitive tribes. They are the Turl Trible, the Scala Tribe, the Bacla Tribe, and the Ko Tribe. The Ko Tribe and the Scala Tribe are very unfriendly. You find yourselves in the Bacla Tribe's village. The Ko Tribe is to your left and the Scala Tribe is to your right. You must safely navigate the open field in the center of all four tribes to reach the Turl Tribe's village. This open field is open because it is very, very dangerous. The field is filled with hidden mines. The four tribes on the island know that the field contains many mines. They have, over time, mapped out parts of the minefield that are dangerous. However, no complete map exists. Only a collection of pieces mapped by the various tribes at different times. You will be given these pieces. They do not overlap. You will also be told which tribe made the map. The maps are accurate. However, there are 5 mines that have evaded detection by these tribes. Also in this minefield there are 5 pieces of valuable treasure. Bring that treasure with you to the Turl Tribe village, and $10,000 will be added to the pot. These 5 treasures are marked on the map pieces as well. In addition to the 5 undetected mines on the map, there is also 1 unknown treasure in the field. It is worth $25,000 if brought to the Turl village. You may go across the field one at a time, so you need to select your order. When you have your order decided, you may post it in the thread. Mines will go off each time they are stepped on, not just once. Even if a previous player has stepped on a specific mine, it will explode the next time it is stepped on, too. If a treasure is picked up by a player, it is lost forever if that player steps on a mine before reaching the Turl Tribe village. Each player must exit the field into the Turl Tribe Village through a different exit square. A player may enter the minefield through any of the 10 entry squares adjacent to the Bacla village. Players may move N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE, or SW (up, down, left, right, or diagonally) one square at a time while navigating the minefield. If at any time a player enters the Scala or Ko Village, they will be neutralized by that tribe. Each player is going to be sent one of the pieces of the map along with the name of the tribe that mapped it. Your first task is to piece the map together to form a 10x10 square map. Once this is completed and I have your order, the first player may start moving through the field. Good luck. |
