I remember one scene in Episode 3 where she turned around and I nearly jumped out of my seat, disgusted with how awful she looked.

Those SW make up and costume people made her look very bad. Except for near the end of Episode 2 where she was in a skin tight, white outfit.....rawr....

I hear ya, i could of been more specific originaly. What i meant was, lack of curves, lack of an above average face, lack of anything that stands out. She's just a normal skinny everygirl, which is fine, but not anything special to me.

Jolie has a strange face. Strange faces are deceptive when made up right, because it tricks you into thinking "Wow, she's beautiful and fucking weird looking! I think part of Portman's appeal is her presence. If you see her on screen, there is just more depth to her than your typical brainless Hollywood cookie-cutter actress. Bucc, rent the movie Beautiful Girls. She's like 13 in it. But it showcases how charming she can be. One of the subplots is that a guy in his late 20s sees that she's going to be something special, even if everyone else is hung up on her age. He's presented with the dilemma of staying with the fiance who clearly doesn't strike him like Natalie's character, or waiting for Natalie to become old enough that their age difference wouldn't be so big a deal.

Anyhow, there's just an uncommon intelligence and an inner light or something that's caught inside her. It's hard to describe, but in some movies (Beautiful Girls, Garden State, Closer) it is right there on the screen beating you over the head. She is far and away my favorite actress. Nobody else even approaches her. There are always other women who will get onto my list of hotties, but Natalie (and Jodie Foster) are the only two who've had any kind of long-term staying power.

Only George Lucas has the power to make me wish that Natalie Portman wasn't in a movie. He completely and utterly wasted one of the greatest talents in the movie business.

She's enrolled in Harvard and can speak fleuent Hebrew, French, and Japanese. That along with her looks make her hot. I would take a beauty with brains anyday over a dumb hot chick. Been there, done that. The looks can only take you so far when eventually they have to speak. You know, those girls that make you cringe every time they speak.
