I was hoping he would drop, if he hadn't ironically enough Morgan was one of three possible choices for this slot, tough I probably gone with another, who I can now hope falls to round 2

This is what I was hoping to see in the draft. The discussions. I figured the strategy from the rules would make for some interesting choices, knowing that you can only get one player from each team but also sizing up the talent pools at the positions. Great stuff.

Yeah that lock rule from rounds 6 to 15 is definitely going to make the middle rounds very interesting. Do you get a player you need/want when nobody else left on that team has value, or do you take a lesser player to use the lock on somebody that could help other teams and screw them over.

The meat of the discussions will probably be the first 10 or so rounds. After that, I'm just throwing darts at the board without having full rosters and statistics in front of me.

Before I make my pick, I would just like to see I love the fact there are multiple teams that had the same player. I think I counted 3 or 4 Nolan Ryans, a couple Randy Johnsons. Very interesting to see which of those will do better. With starting pitching obviously being at a premium, and considering the fact that I only recognize maybe 10% of the available starting pitchers since many of the teams were before my time, I'm going with somebody I know.

My 2nd pick in this draft will be Randy Johnson of the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks! I also have my next pick planned out already.. if nobody steals him. And if anybody does, it means war!

Also, not really sure how the rules for rd. 6-10 work. Could someone re-explain that?

Need to correct that. Will be 6 through 15. For each of those rounds you pick a player that you want and you pick a player to lock from that same team. That player will become unavailable.

The restrictions are that the locked player has to come from the same team that you picked from that round and you can only lock one from each position (so if you lock a catcher in round six you can't lock another catcher).

Correct. So for example if you were to pick say Larry Bowa from the 1980 Phillies you could then lock someone from that team that hasn't been picked yet. Say you decide to lock Manny Trillo, he could then not be taken by another team and would become unavailable.

You can only lock someone from the team that you are picking from that round and you can only lock one from each of the position (excluding closer).
