It's now 8:00 AM EST.
All the roles have been sent out. You will have only received the name of your role and nothing else. The role descriptions are in the ruleset. We'll start the game at 10:00 AM EST. I will only count votes made after I have posted the Turn 0 introductory post.

Well, we can't vote for a No Lynch, so it looks like that's out of the window. What are we thinking on the # of wolves? 3?

Turn 0 Post:
The day has arrived. A mere seventy-two hours have passed since you were informed of your mission. You are all taken via private transport into the main gate of Hadrian's wall, the beastly structure that separates Scotland from the entire United Kingdom. After being ushered into the facility, you are greeted by the mission leader, who only introduces himself by his callsign: Neon Chaos. "Let's save the pleasantries, gentlemen. You will refer to me as Neon Chaos, I suppose that is all you need to know. You have all opted for your own callsigns, so I suggest you just use them. No need to get personal." "We are to seek out our first target, Lieutenant Eden Sinclair, formerly of the British SIS-DDS division. She led the last expedition into Scotland in order to retrieve a cure for the Reaper virus. We all know how that turned out. Apparently, we can't just take her and a couple of immune Scots and come back. We need to find Dr. Kane and bring him back. She is the only one who knows the whereabouts of the good doctor, and we're going to have to find her." Neon Chaos works a projector that displays satellite photographs of Glasgow and the most recent photos of Eden Sinclair. "Her last known location was the city of Glasgow, right where the Reaper virus originated. We know that there is a small population of locals who have so far been proven to be immune to the earlier incarnation of the Reaper virus. We will head out to Glasgow and extract Lieutenant Sinclair by any means necessary." He turns off the projector and faces everyone. "You have been given standard-issue assault rifles and the standard carbon-fiber mobility suits. Do not step out of your suits at any time. If you, by any chance, are infected, you will be shot on-sight." A hush falls over all of you as Neon Chaos somberly speaks. "I don't have to tell you that this is a do-or-die mission. If we don't find either Sinclair or Kane, we're not coming back." He takes his assault rifle and slings it over his shoulder. "We'll be riding aboard three post-Hadrian APCs, two squads of six men and a squad of five. We deploy in fifteen. Get moving." TURN 0 IS OVER. TURN 1 HAS BEGUN. VOTES DUE TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 10 AM EST. Only votes cast after this post count.

Let me throw out a quick clarification, that Mr. UTR was not meant to say that ntn was a wolf last game, he just played a completely quiet game and I forgot about him several times so I'm not doing the same this time.

Dude, I think it's generally frowned upon to discuss the specific wording of your PMs. Other games have been won or lost because people read into statements like this thinking, "well he must be a villager too, since mine said the same thing." Neon's games might be more immune to this than most because of the way he runs them, but still not a good idea, IMO. |

I just re-read neon's ruleset. One thing that we can use to our advantage is that all but one of the wolves are chosen - it's not random. So a good rule of thumb to think about today when we have no other information is "who would most people choose to be a wolf out of this group?"
I think it's likely to be people who are kind of middle of the road posters. It likely won't be people who post all the time and often bring heat on themselves and it won't be someone who barely posts at all and is seen as being too UTR. I have some names in mind who fit that middle of the road idea, but want to hear what you guys think before I share who I have in mind. (Honestly, I typically fall into this category myself and it helped the wolves win last game). |

Kwhit, normally I would agree with you, however if the PM is only one word, it is hard not to repeat it. That would bean in this game any role claiming would be forbidden.

I don't mean that you can't use the word villegar in a post - that would be stupid. I was just talking about calling out "hey my PM is just one word long" is a bad idea. That's all I was saying. |

Except that isn't really news to any of us since NC himself said you would recieve the role and nothing else. ithink it is a safe assumption to say that everyones pm is 1 word long. I dont remember seeing any of NC's roles with more than one word. |

I'd agree with you. If we can discern a group of "most likely to be picked" that'd probably be in our best interest. |

Here's my estimation. Of course the catch is, who is the alpha wolf and what is their experience with each player. For example, someone who didn't play last game might write off mccollins as a newbie, but I think those that did would be in agreement that he's not.
Ditto someone (like mccollins let's say) who played last game but not in awhile would get a different read on NTNDeacon than those who have played with him multiple times. Heavy Hitter (good wolf, but has notoriety) 1. Lathum 6. Passacaglia 9. Render 15. Path12 Middle of the road 2. TheJackal 3. PurdueBrad 4. Claphamsa 10. jeheinz72 12. Kwhit 14. ntndeacon Could be seen as new, or plays infrequently enough that the Alpha may not have experience with them 5. nfg22 7. Narcizo 8. mccollins 11. Sonic Youth 13. Eaglefan - did he play a lot awhile back? 16. ImTheCrew - new? Excuse the side comments, if I'm way off-base, just chalk it up to unfamiliarity not any sort of "slight" Now if I were an alpha, and I got to choose 2 people (I'd presume we're more likely to see 13:3 than 12:4, IIRC Neon's rules are slightly tinged to the village) it'd be a tough call, and frankly, it depends on which of these groups the alpha himself falls into. For me though, I'd take a heavy hitter and a middle-of-the-road. |

Hi, just got home and don't have much time to post.
I agree looking at who we might pick as wolves is as good an area as any to start on day one. Better yet (but also harder) would be to try and work out who we would pick if we were someone else. My list is slightly different from JH's, probably because I was around a bit before a lot of people joined. I've split into Old Skool Lathum Passa KWhit NTN Path New Skool Jackal PB Clap NFG Render JH Odds and Ends Me (I was around a fair bit a year and a half ago) mccollins (completely new to me before last game) Sonic (new) Eaglefan (around a fair bit in the old days, I believe) ITC (around when I was last around presumably new) I'd say that if the alpha is a newbie they're likely to take a vet. If he's a vet he might avoid other vets. I'll go into this a bit more later on, I've got my son breathing down my neck wanting to write on the computer at the moment. I'll go into things a bit more later today. |
