What silly parts of the story?

A 4 year old kid says "hey doggie" and then gets yelled at by a stranger because of it.

Please explain where DT is anything but a douchebag in this story...

The kid did nothing deserving of getting yelled at, let alone yelled at by some stranger walking past the house.

Well.......

I bet the kid will never yell "hey doggie" again, so you could argue that DT taught him something.

And at 4 years old, I heard words that were far, far worse than "hell" so it's not like DT is doing some irrevocable damage to his virgin ears.

But DT had NO RIGHT yelling at someone's kid who did NOTHING wrong. It's douchebag 101.

almost getting a dog killed and causing a car accident isn't doing something wrong?

you're right. I say they should lock that kid up for life. Clearly, a 4-year old should have learned how to take care of an excitable dog by now, even if, you know, the kid doesn't have a dog. if the parents haven't found the time in FOUR YEARS to teach that lesson to the kid, just on the odd chance some fool would wander by the house with an unleashed dog, then fuck it. lock the kid up.

and, you should also feel free to scold the kid however you see fit. Clearly, the kid's parents don't know what they are doing, so it's totally cool for you to come on and parent how you see fit. yell and scream away. next time, I recommend spanking the kid as well. in fact, go back there now and do it - it'll be good for everyone in the long run.

Pretty sure I'm allowed to yell and scream all I want. And they're allowed to yell and scream back.

Frankly the lady is just lucky that I was too hysterical at that moment to really go off on her, or her kid would have heard some real curse words.

Am I following this thread correctly ... did it just go from tires being stolen from a car to someone yelling at a kid*?

* which sounds perfectly reasonable, as most kids are douchebags and a half and nearly all of them should be beaten.

Personally, I would have told the kid Santa was murdered and his parents don't love him because he was adopted.

If the kid was yelling something to his mom and saying "Hey Mommy!" and the dog did the same thing would your reaction be any different?

Absolutely. I wouldn't have said word 1 to the kid about it if that was the case.

And honestly, I think the "me yelling at the kid" thing has been overblown. I yelled what I yelled to him...word for word...once. What's that...less than 15 seconds of yelling? I was done yelling by the time I got across the street. The rest of the 5 minute screamfest was the lady yelling at me for daring to yell at her kid and "discipline" him and curse at him (not sure how yelling one sentence at him is disciplining him fwiw, and in my book "hell" isn't a "curse word" either), and me yelling back at her (because that was the only way to get a word in) about how it wasn't my dog so i couldn't get it off her property, that it was a loose dog that i was just trying to take home.

Here, it's perfectly ok to put a cap up in the little bastard. In fact, you'd have been chewed out for not capping his ass.

Why? To the dog... Hey Mommy and Hey Doggie have no different meaning. The dog heard the kid and went that direction.

Course, the kid would have been strapped, too. At four years old, he probably would have owned nine gats. You might have had some caps heading towards your grill before you were able to put one up in his dome.

I'm kindof feeling good about my decision to stay on the side of the Bay Bridge we were on when I went to San Fran last year.

Once you have kids, we'll see how cool you are with other people yelling at them in anger.

When they're 4. And having natural reactions to exciting stimuli.

What kind of deductive reasoning do you really expect from a 4 year old?
