Way to go Eddie, Crimson, and the new blood in the RL.

Huge year from Winter. He's certainly earning that big deal.

After a fine run it looks like the Cyclones have hit rock bottom. Hopefully the sadness won't last long.

Thanks Alan!

Something happened this year that I don't believe has ever happened, and it made me very, very sad.

None of Hammersmith, Colorado, Baltimore or Tokyo made the playoffs?

But, hey, at least I am in the Pythagorean playoffs.

What do you mean there's no such thing as Pythagorean playoffs?

Good luck tomorrow night, playoff teams!

Anyone care to tell me how many ex-Boston players are on this leaderboard along with current players? Looking at this makes me wish we had no salary cap..HAHA

So it seems we are developing a bit of a pattern in New York. We hold onto a playoff spot into September, and then, we collapse. Somehow though, we managed to win the tie breaker series. Congrats and good luck to the other playoff teams.

We did have a pretty good 5 month run of form. We'll bounce back!

Heh...I was just throwing that out there for fun, but I just actually checked.

Man, the last time not one of those four teams was involved in the playoffs was 2040...and sure enough, that was mid-October, a little over five months ago.

Yup, this feels all foreign and weird to me, so we'll have to bounce back quick.

All very good answers. I was shooting for "This was the first season under direct human control that the Rancheros finished with a winning percentage under .400"

We sucked epically this year. Literally.

How does Winter's year compare with the great years of those Chico greats of the 30s?

Also, I haven't looked yet, but I am guessing it was an extremely offensive year, at least in the RL.

Isn't it supposed to be a Yankee-esque huge offensive achievement to score 1000 runs in a season? My team scored 1067 last season and 1066 this past season, and I was frankly amazed at the numbers they put up. Which tells you how bad my pitching was.

Want more interesting results from this season? Probably the worst decision I have made in a real time year--not re-signing Sixto Cuevas. I decided to let my longtime closer walk and replace him with hard throwing setup man Luis Ramirez, who had around a 3.00 ERA in his career so far. Ramirez proceeds to post an 8.46 ERA and blow 15--FIFTEEN!--saves out of 36 opps, good for around a 56% success rate.

Ouch.
