Alright guys.

Good luck on the last two. Hopefully we can pull this together.

Will be back in, briefly, in a bit.

We still need a rhyming poem, I believe. We have an acrostic, haiku and limerick.

Are the outside judges non-WW players, though? They might be WW players not in this game.

If they are true WW novices, I hope SkyDog isn't one of them, given my limerick.

The moon begins to rise
The shifting of the tides
My heart races
My mind paces
I begin to struggle this new foe
I’m overpowered from head to toe
The life in me is almost gone
I cannot have very long
Wolfs bane beckons me to do its bidding
Its too late now, there is no quitting
I approach my sinister foe
There is nowhere he can go
I take my time, enjoy the work
He voted for me, so I must kill this jerk
I hear the clatter of awakened rivals
If they saw, I would be killed for my trifles
I sneak through the darkness, of which I know well
And return to my home, thinking of what story to tell
Day comes, no one saw a thing
After the game, my praises they will sing

It could use another line or two, and some editing...i dont love it, so anyone please work on it a bit. But its the max 20 lines and i think its ok

Looks like everyone did a great job of getting this together.

Is someone available to post them all (in the main thread)?

Any strategy in posting early vs closer to the deadline? I think we should wait until near the deadline, so the other tribes don't know what we are up to or what they are up against.

Well, does my qualify under our theme? I wrote it before i knew we had a theme. Kwhit is writing one too, so lets hold off a bit.

I think we post it at the deadline, and i should be here for it

Here's mine:

Early in the morning, with fear in my heart,
I check the boards and receive quite a start.
Wondering am I alive or am I dead,
PM indicator flashing - is it what I dread?

How will it be? This terror the wolves send.
Teeth tearing throat, or some other end?
Wait, don't panic. Don't overreact.
I open the message to see if I was whacked.

I'm not dead at all. Oh thank the lord!
We've just been exiled to our own spot on the board.

Also, by the way... Barkeep just posted this about the haiku.

Quote:

I would stick with the traditional format of 5/7/5 as the requirement. I applaud, and hope the judges recognize, the tribe(s) that go beyond even that in adherence to traditional forms.

I don't know too much about haikus but if there are other parts of the form that we need to incorporate into it, we should try to do so. I think they are supposed to deal with nature, maybe. Not sure what else is required... Anxiety?

Another thought. I'm a little afraid that our theme might be one that another group might pick too (no inside info, I just think it might be a tad obvious). I like the poems we have and think we should stick with the theme, but I wonder if it might make sense for me to go post what our theme is in the main challenge thread. That way we get credit for picking the theme first and if others are already working on similar poems they have a choice to make. Either switch now and re-write everything or look like they came up with the idea second.

What do you guys think?

traditional haiku mentions nature. I could try that real quick, if you like. Let's see.

Evening and the Moon
Bring out fur and fang and flesh
While the sun ignites

Have to go soon (date night on Tuesday night reemeber) and will not be available for a while. Let me try another or two briefly.

Sun should be captialized in the above Haiku.

The Moon brings death yet
The Sun brings another chance
Cycle continues

I am of the Moon
Evening strengthens my desire
Primal rage grows strong

Cycle continues
The Dawn brings redemption now
Cycle continues

(I like that line, obviously)

Sun up, day begins
Sun down, hope is at an end
Cycle continues

or alternatively, this as a final line

Pretend something else

Hope something here you guys can use!!!

Yes, yes. I really like the first two lines, but I don't see line 3 going with them.

What about:

Evening and the Moon
Bring out fur and fang and flesh
Tomorrow, come quick

or

Evening and the Moon
Bring out fur and fang and flesh
I yearn for morning

Something that conveys the dread of night. I suck at haikus, so go with what you guys think. Just throwing out some ideas.

And by the way, I don't think I'll be around at 7. I'm leaving soon and will be back probably just afterwards - like at 7:30 or so.

SO SOMEBODY HAS TO POST OUR POEMS!!!! Unless I should do it now before I go.

I have to head out now. So as you guys come and go, you need to give your opinion on which long poem to use - mine or Blade's. Take a look at them above in the thread and post which one you think we should go with. We can only use one of them.

And someone has to be our designated poster. I'll be unavailable until about 7:30. Blade said he "should be here to do it" at the deadline, but I'd like to have a more definitive answer than that. Blade, can you definitely be here close to 7 to post the poems?

Yes, i will be here

And i think your long poem is quite a bit better then mine, mine is rather awful in comparison. Feelings aside, as i wont get upset at all, tell me which you think is better. If you agree with me, ill run with yours.

Id like a list of the 4 though, as we have far more then 4 in this thread now

by the way i'm posting from the car. glad to see you'll be here to post the poems. I prefer my long poem, but i'm okay with either. I think we have one limeric from cr and I think anxiety and I have a haiku that we like. and somebody posted a good acrostic. we need one of each, so I think we're in good shape. I probably can't post again between now and then.

Rhyme Poem:

Limerick:

He wanted to control the masses
Cuz everyone acted like asses
He needed some victims
He focused on lupines
And now it is wolves Ben harasses

Arcostic:

Lest you be chosen,
You shall hide amongst the masses,
Not so much that you are marked as...what is the word?
Conspicuous. That is it.
He who barks the loudest leads the charge,
Even though wolves are often known to bark, themselves.
Death awaits the most popular. The rest will hope to see another day.

I'm a little bit disappointed with our team's showing in this thread. I think we've done okay with the challenges (we'll see, I guess on the second one), but this thread has been like a ghost town today. We need more participation!

You keep your Blade to yourself, little man.

Thanks. The feeling's mutual. It's been fun so far. I've skipped a bunch of these games due to work, but I'm enjoying it a lot. Now I hope I don't get voted off or eaten tonight!

Speaking of... I still haven't voted and I'm not sure who to go after tonight. I hate it that we have to lose a player (especially since we're already short handed).

It may cause trouble, but i have nothing to hide. Ill be honest and say i voted for chief. He volunteered to be voted off, and i dont have a better reason to vote for anyone else. If i get voted off, its been fun playing with you all and best of luck. If chief does, im sorry buddy and i hope to see you again soon.

Chief, its nothing personal...you volunteered, and with your schedule i dont want you having to feel like you have to stop fixing your car or be late to work to scrounge in a challenge. These can be time consuming, more so them most WW games, and i hope you jump back in next game.

If you dont get voted off, i look forward to continuing to work with you
