Up to a best of 12 with 5 balls. It is official. It is also extraordinarily frustrating, but there is progress. By far the most difficult part is making each throw consistent. This must happen because the pattern is so fast there is not time for corrections.

After over a month of practice I now have a best of 14 catches with 5 balls. Hrmph. Very, very frustrating.
I break up the monotony of 5 ball practice with some 3 and 4 ball trick practice as well as practicing flashing 6 balls, which I have done about 3 times out of around 50 total tries. But hey, at least I did it. A couple of tricks I'm also practicing: Synchronous Columns Box Four Ball Reverse Fountain Four Ball Windmill The first two are actually quite easy and I can already do them fairly well. The last one is, well, a bear. I can start it but I can only make like 4 catches. This trick will lead to the 4 ball mills mess. Can't wait to be able to bust that out. Four Ball Mills Mess |

WARNING: Incredibly disturbing images contained within:
http://www.angelfire.com/trek/pwatts25/factory-3b.avi Above is a link to a video of ME (yes, actually me) juggling a new 3 ball trick I learned called the three ball factory. I've been wanting to learn this trick for a long time, and I finally got it. BTW I'm not as fat as I look in the video, I swear. :/ I made some other videos, too, but I think I can improve those. There is a sloppy 4 ball run and a pathetic 5 ball attempt, too. I won't post those yet. Looks like you might have to copy/paste that link instead of clicking it. That is awesome. I am practicing juggling also, but I only practice for about 10 minutes a day at work (I juggle hockey pucks), and I can only do very basic moves. I'd like to get some juggling balls, but I have no idea where to get them from. Any help?
Edit: I should note that my job has absolutely nothing to do with hockey. I just keep three hockey pucks on my desk.

Update. I now have a best of 30 catches with 5 balls. I can pretty much break 15 catches at will, so I am progressing, it is just very slow. School is almost out now, and I am expecting to get a lot of practice time in over the summer. Hopefully I get it to the "juggle indefinitely" stage before school starts back up.
Juggling 5 is really, really fun. And people notice it, too. I don't like juggling for an audience, really, but it is kind of cool when people see you and come up and start asking you about it. Juggling 5 is about 100x more impressive looking than 3 or even 4. Those that said a long time ago that juggling 5 was easier than 4, I really have no idea what planet you are from. 4 is so very easy compared to this. But I am about to get it, I think. Once I get it fairly steady, I will make a good video of me juggling 5 for awhile. I also have a membership to a gym for the summer, so I will be in shape for the video, too! hehe Thanks for reading. |

Not making much progress with 5 still. Here is a video of how sloppy my 5 ball juggling is:
http://www.cox-internet.com/pwatts14/5ballx19.wmv 19 catches. A typical attempt for me. I will try to get a more controlled, longer video of 5 balls some time. Maybe I can get a video of some backcrosses with clubs or something too. Anyway that video might interest some of you as is, so there it is. Comments are welcome (except about the gut, which I'm working on, so stfu). |

Here's about 30 catches with 5 balls. I'm going to start videoing my practice sessions like this so I can share my better runs or new tricks more often.

Thanks. Just wanted to allow people to see me juggle 5 if they havent. Its a little smoother than it was a year ago, but not terribly so. I may have reached my apex.

Youtube era bump!
I have recently started juggling again, so I'm dusting off some old tricks as well as this dynasty thread. Here are a couple of recent juggling videos of myself I threw together. |
