Oh, I know. I just always end up in groups with all USA teams. Heck, I'd volunteer to be in a group with all international teams and play every game on the road just to defer the costs from smaller teams but that would screw up the ratings and make it unfair for everyone else. And I'm definitely not going to badmouth the teams I've played in the Cups either- I've had exciting cup runs both years with one of the best groups 2 seasons ago and being in a run and shoot bracket last year (my first year was a drubbing at the hands of the Aviators in the consolation cup and the team doesn't care to speak about that ). Oh well. Either way. Who am I kidding, the Hippos are certainly in. I was tired from programming basically 4 days straight on a project and cranky and needed a nap and blankey. Things are much clearer in the light of day. Houston Hippopotami (8574) SI

AP Mercury (8489) are in this year, also after a 1-year break (for sucking too badly to bother trying to compete last year.)

I'm in, but only if it's group play or triple elimination or something that guarentees me more than 1 match.
Speaking of triple elimination, I have a friend who schedules some rather complex softball tournaments that I could hit up if we wanted to do something wacky like seeded triple elimination with a double elimination consolation bracket. Oh yeah....Rochester Roosters 71938

Concord Assassins 72162. I plan on finishing the job this year and winning the Cup.
![]() I like the idea of scheduling it like the HT Cups, but as long as it includes group play I'll be happy. I think one way to lower walkovers is to post another thread a week or two before it begins requiring confirmation from each team, or just discuss the format now abd delay signups until then. |

Well, I took dacman official list... We'll change that. I think we could use regional groups for the first group phase => more spectators, more money for both teams.

I have no problem being in an international grouping...my team is financially stable enough to put up with travel costs even if they aren't made up by ticket sales, and I'd love the experience boost.

If you've still got room, the Chunks are IN and plan on scoring at least a goal.

If you need someone else for an international group, I'd be willing, especially if it involved the Canadien teams. Already posted team id, name is Concord Assassins.

The Hippos would love to play in an international group. Heck, I'll play all of my games on the road, I don't care.

International play is fine for SSFC. I like to give my players at least one "trip abroad" each season anyhow.

Why? Is the experience from international friendlies too good? .1 vs .2 is almost negligable in my book. You need to support the FOFC Cup, give it legitamacy. Take one for the team, and all the other fancy cliche's.

Uhh, not possible. It takes 5 weeks to play 4 games with groups of 5 because someone will be idle every week. Unless you were only planning on 3 group phase games, but I'm guessing not. That's why we went with groups of 6 previously.

Thanks dacman, me=moron. I made this plan late last night and was tired... And yes, FOFC Cup 3 had groups of 6. Guess we go with groups of 6 (min 5 FOFC Cup games) => 10 groups of 6. Top 3 from each group + 2 best 4th teams go to playoffs. FOFC Cup then ends on week 15 |

Ack- this is just getting longer and longer. This is why some of us end up questioning if we want to be in it every year: I like friendlies. I like scheduling my own friendlies. And as it is right now, ~5 of my weeks will be tied up with the USA Cup, 3-4 if I get upset. And another 6-8 in the FOFC Cup which potentially leaves me with 3 friendlies that I can schedule the entire season and that's not enough time to play games with supporters and get some international games in.
I've already said I'm in but I'm just saying for next year and future consideration, this is why a lot of people don't play in the FOFC Cup. In fact, if you play the FOFC Cup just so you have guaranteed friendlies- you probably shouldn't be playing at all. SI
