Can I just update the info on the SaaP (Sick as a Parrot) soccer game? The latest release was SaaP 2004 v 2.0 on the 24th December 2003.

SD - That's what it says.

I have to admit, I'm not all that familiar with the RooGames adapations of the various games, but the basis for them, Lambourne Games, is darned well thought of amongst tabletoppers, particularly the cricket game which seems to have a fairly small but loyal following.

FWIW, Lambourne Games has done quite a few off-the-beaten-path sports -- Rally Racing, Downhill Skiing, as well as these already converted to PC. There's another company that's recently released Lacrosse for the tabletop but no mention of any plans to adapt it for computer.

Bonegavel - the only one I've had a chance to demo yet is the F1, and it's replay but with close to 20 seasons available.

Just checked out the website. At first glance, I'm not sure the term 'text sim' applies. It looks more like a Madden version of rugby.
They do have real teams and players in there, am not sure about the franchise mode...

Pro Rugby Manager is the latest game from Cyanide. I found the company trying to get my Tour de France fix last year when I bought another of their games, Cycling Manager 3. If the Rugby game is anything like the Cycling one, the management side is a little light. In CyM3 you can sign riders and other staff, train for races, and purchase equipment, but the realism factor is pretty low (the races are in 3D and are pretty fun to watch). If anyone is interested http://www.cycling-manager3.com/english/

A couple of text type games on this site:

Edit (for the link): http://www.nbsd.de/

The smugglers game is actually pretty cool. I haven't spent any time on the other ones.

Oh and for Bard's Tale fans (not exactly a text sim but a pretty acuarate old school roleplaying game) there is this:

http://devilwhiskey.com/

Packaged and ready to sell as a direct download. More content in the near future.

Since this board is the unofficial center of the text-sim universe, quit being a dictator and sticky this somewhere.... i mean...please. (If not here on one of the other boards.)

One of the reasons I've bumped it twice in the last 3 days is I refer people here to find information on what is available.

I also believe they should ban Dallas Cowboys fanboi sigs if they are intent on keeping the QOTD banned. To me this is more offensive than any QOTM that they could possibly put up

It is already referenced in the all-inclusive reference thread, and that one is always stickied. What more do you need ?

Another update. I see the last was 2003. Wow, that long ago? Just released SaaP 2005 r 1.3 (Dec 10th 2004). And yes, for those who see it as essential, you can alt-tab out of it

You can download a demo from www.machoward.com

Don't forget Lance Haffner Games!

http://www.lhgames.com/

Though somewhat dated now, his games presented me with hundreds of hours of fun in the late 80's and even in the 90's. I enjoyed his football, basketball and hockey games. I especially enjoyed the college football games and pairing a division 2 team against a top ranked team just for the fun of a blow-out (like 77-0)!

I still have his last set of games that I purchased in 1997 (Football, Basketball and Hockey) on floppy. I may have to dig them out and give them a try again! Any idea if they will work with XP-Pro?

Wow, it's been too long since this thread got updated.

These are all for the tabletop, not the p.c. (although with a little Excel, just about anything can be on the p.c. )

New from Downey Games
UltraQuick Wrestling -- similar to his UQ Boxing release, but this time it's pro wrestling, circa 1991 (that's the basis for the first two sets of rated wrestlers). A very good companion for any of the more detailed wrestling games out there.
http://downeygames.tabletop-sports.com/

World Wrestling Game -- samples available at http://www.tabletop-sports.com/index.php

Low-cost game that shows pretty good potential in the first couple of weeks since released. Simple rate-your-own instructions bump this one up at least a couple of notches, and most of the rules can be tweaked to your heart's content. Comes with (barely) fictional wrestlers but there's already about a dozen or so superstars from various eras ready for d'load too. Check the downloads section, wrestling games subsection to see the sample cards from the developer.

Also, don't miss the latest edition of Press Box
http://decisiveactionsports.tabletop...ication1-2.PDF
It's chock full of tabletop game news goodness including:
-- Details on the recently released 2000-2004 LPGA set for Decisive Action Sports Classic Golf
-- Home Court Games Tee Time Golf
-- Taylor Marketing has completed Status-Pro Hockey and also released a new pro wrestling game
-- Clubhouse Enterprises has released a new set of horses for Horse Racing Fantasy
-- Nice freebie sets for owners of Replay Baseball and Classic Golf.

I'm sure there's a bunch more stuff I should metnion, but that at least gets some info out there & accomplishes a much needed thread bump.
