Week 18
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Wild Card weekend Recap 7 10 0 7 - 24 0 6 0 0 - 6 DEN:QB M.Hasselbeck 19-29-203, RB C.Portis 14-34, WR J.Hodgins 4-31 BAL:QB C.Redman 14-25-171, RB T.Canidate 16-52, WR F.Sanders 5-80 Did You Know that: the Ravens used all three quarterbacks in this game. Trung Caniate had only started one game for Baltimore before today. 3 sacks by Game MVP Clint Mitchell is a new eNFL single playoff game record. He was also voted defensive player of the week. Game recap: The first appearance by Baltimore in the eNFL playoffs soon became a nightmare for the 65.600 in the stands of Baltimore M & T Bank Stadium. This game was never close. With Jamal Lewis out with injury and Kyle Boller handicapped by hyper extended elbow Baltimore was chanceless against Denver. When Boller was sidelined in the second half everything came apart for the Ravens and the Broncos could cruise in to an easy victory. 0 0 14 6 - 20 0 3 0 3 - 6 IND:QB T.Brady 18-27-173, RB T.Henry 25-102, WR D.Clark 6-67 BUF:QB D.Bledsoe 25-53-304, RB M.Pittman 23-49, WR T.Lynch 5-93 Did You Know that: its was the 7th time this season Drew Bledsoe passed for more then 300yds. The 7yds fake FG pass by Hunter Smith in the 3rd quarter was his first pass attempt ever in the eNFL. Buffalo was in the red zone twice but only came away with a single FG. Tom Brady won game MVP but Drew Bledsoe won offensive player of the week ?? Game recap:Buffalo took the early lead on a short FG in the second quarter. That gave them a 3-0 lead at half time. In the third quarter the Colts came out hot. On the first drive of the second half they scored the games first TD on an 8yds pass to Marvin Harrison. Buffalo tried to answer back but missed a 50yds FG on the next drive. Colts then move the ball back down the field but was stopped at the Buffalos 3yds line. They then surprise everybody including the Bills defends by calling the fake FG and Hunter Smith pass the ball 7yds to Plaxico Burress for the TD. Buffalo never recovers from that and despite out gaining Indianapolis with 124yds passing and 74yds total they only manage to score another FG. Season over for the Bills and Colts move on to play Houston again. 0 3 7 7 - 17 7 0 0 7 - 14 NOS:QB P.Manning 13-19-133, RB D.McAllister 17-67, WR D.McAllister 3-29 ATL:QB M.Vick 24-46-232, RB T.Duckett 22-83, WR P.Price 7-105 Did You Know that: Game recap: It was the first playoff appearance for both teams. It was also the first meeting between two of the bright young star quarterbacks of the eNFL, Peyton Manning vs. Michael Vick. But I was another player that would steal the headlines. Deuce McAllister had a fantastic game. In the regular season he only had 983yds and 5TD rushing and 267yds and 2TD receiving. Today he had two huge TD receptions for 11 and 8yds. That and a FG was enough to take them past the Falcons. Atlanta sees a great season go down the drain. The will look back at the missed 47yds FG attempt by Paul Edinger with anger. 7 10 0 9 -26 3 7 3 0 -13 NYG:QB K.Collins 23-39-268, RB R.Ignasiak 16-57, WR A.Toomer 6-85 PHI:QB D.McNabb 17-37-207, RB E.James 15-82, WR A.Johnson 6-72 Did You Know that:It was the 3rd game in a row McNabb left the field without a TD. The Giants lost Tiki Barber for the rest of the season with injury. New York was the only of the winning teams that got more total yards then their opponents. With the Eagles out of the playoffs St Louis is the only team left with experience from previous eSuper Bowls. New York is now 7-1 against the Eagles. Game recap: Edgerrin James only fumbled the ball 4 times in the regular season. But today he lost the ball twice. That together with another fumble by RB Reno Mahe, a missed FG and an Int by McNabb didn’t help the Eagles to better their record against New York. The game was close going in to the finally 15 minutes but 3 FG by Matt Bryant helped the Giants beat the Eagles for the second time in two weeks. New York will now travel to Green Bay and play the Packers in the snow |

Week 19
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Divisional Playoff Round Preview (9-7-1) @ (12-4) An interesting meting between division rivals. They have played each other seven times before and Kansas have won all seven games!! Kansas have been solid all year with a new super season by Trent Green and Priest Holmes. Denver and GM CrazyRoster knows that this is their last chance to go all the way before the team will be taken apart due to the cap problems. Last year the two teams meet in the wild card round where the Chiefs won by a single point (24-23). Denver is still having problems with Matt Hasselbeck and his Sprained Ankle. Kansas will have to go easy on Tony Gonzalez due to his Strained Elbow Tendon. Kansas is 5-point favourites. (11-6) @ (11-5) Another meeting between division rivals. Houston has been a fun team to watch this year. David Carr finally lived up to his potential and had a stellar season. He passes for 4421yds and leads the league in “Yards Per Attempt” with 8.38yds. It’s also a match up between two of the highest scoring teams this year in the eNFL. Houston leads the league with 25.6 points pr game with the Colts in 3rd with 24.5 points pr game. Colts can have an edge with a better defends but the Texans offens is scary. The regular seasons meeting between the two teams gave each team a win with the Colts winning 24-21 in week 10 and Texans getting revenge in week 17 with a huge 29-3 win. The Colts will feel the loss of Dwight Freeney at DE. Houston is 3-point favourites. (9-8) @ (12-4) The Saints have been the positive surprise of the 2005 season. Last year they were close but with Peyton Manning behind the wheel they have now made it to the Divisional Playoff Round. They will travel to St Louis and play the Rams. Rams once again have an impressive season. All talk about the bad deal with Kurt Warner is now long forgotten and they have been in the playoffs all three years. This year their strength has been their defense. They lead the league with only 14.8 points allowed pr game (3.3 points behind the 49ers fantastic record from 2004). St Louis is 5-point favourites. (10-6-1) @ (12-4) Brett Favre and Green Bay is back in the playoffs for the 3rd time in a row. They will take on the Giants back home in a snowy and very cold (28 degrees) Lambeau Field. Green Bay have only played in snow once before. Back in 2003 they won 17-10 over the 9ers in 30 degrees and snow. For New York it will be an all-new experience, as they have never played a snow-game before in the eNFL. Green Bay is still looking for their first victory in the playoffs and with the chance of Favre deciding to retire getting bigger every off season Green Bay need to act fast. New York will have to find a way to win without injured Tiki Barber. Green Bay is 7-point favourites. Pop-quiz Kansas is not the only teams dominating their division rivals. 4 other eNFL teams are still undefeated against one of the teams from their own division. Can you name the division series currently 6-0? |

Great work on this dynasty thread as always northwood. You're right that we're going to be pissed off all offseason about the missed FG, but the real backbreaker was the holding call on a 44yd pass completion to jimmy smith in the dying moment of the 4th quarter. If that had stood, we would've had a shot at winning it, or at the least pushing the game into OT with a tying FG.

Week 19
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Foul play in St Louis? In New Orleans roomers about foul play by the Rams have been hot news when 8 players had to be treated for food poisoning after returning from St Louis. The Saints lost the game 27-17 and is now out of his year’s playoff. Among the players poisoned were all three Saints running backs, WR Keyshawn Johnson and C Gennaro DiNapoli. The New Orleans Saints front office has still not made any official comment on the case. Nobody from St Louis has been available for comments and the commissioner of the eNFL have announced that there will under no circumstances be a re-match. New Orleans had their second worst running game of the year with only 65yds on the ground. Springer first choice in Tampa Tampa Bay today announced that Bob Springer will be the starting quarterback next year for the Buccaneers. Springer was the first QB drafted in 2005 and had a fantastic season when he replaced Brad Johnson. He won his first 6 games as a starter and only a loss in round 17 to Atlanta kept him from taking the Buccaneers to the playoff. Brad Johnson will have to find a new place to play next year. Tampa have already placed him on the block but he can be difficult to trade due to his $6.750.000 salary in 2006. He is a 12-year veteran with a 21-20-1 record in the eNFL. He is currently ranked just outside the top-15 quarterbacks in the eNFL. Chicago or Carolina could be new employers for Brad Johnson. |

Week 19
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Divisional Playoff Round Recap 0 7 0 6 - 13 7 9 3 3 - 22 DEN:QB M.Hasselbeck 15-30-196, RB A.Smith 6-40, WR A.Lelie 3-70 KCY:QB T.Green 18-32-221, RB P.Holmes 28-172, WR P.Holmes 6-66 Did You Know that: in the 7 game Priest Holmes have played against Denver he has rushed for 748yds (106yds avg). Game RecapIt was not even close. Priest Holmes did the best he could to impress the GMs still undecided in whom to vote for as eNFL MVP. A 63yds rushing TD, 172 total yards rushing and 66yds receiving including a TD was all in a days work for Holmes. Then it didn’t matter that Trent Green was intercepted on his two first drives of the game. But that kind of mistakes can be costly next week as the Chiefs GM was quick to point out after the game. 10 14 3 0 - 27 0 7 7 3 - 17 IND:QB T.Brady 18-26-180, RB T.Henry 36-178, WR M.Harrison 5-65 HOU:QB D.Carr 16-43-183, RB D.Staley 16-61, WR J.Gaffney 4-67 Did You Know that:In the first 13 games of the season David Carr was only held below 225yds passing one single time. In the last 4 games he was never above 185yds. Game RecapI got a feeling that Indianapolis tricked Houston. Texans was prepared for Tom Brady to come out and throw the ball. But instead the Colts handed it to Travis Henry who had the game of his life. 178yds running and 3 TDs were the result for him when the game was over. Time and time again his run to the right turned up big yards. With Carr only completing 16 of 43 attempts they never managed to get back in the game. 0 7 7 3 - 17 3 14 7 3 - 27 NOS:QB P.Manning 18-39-201, RB D.McAllister 15-45, WR E.Conwell 7-91 STL:QB M.Bulger 24-33-343, RB M.Faulk 19-56, WR T.Calico 9-136 Did You Know that: the Rams now hold the eNFL record for most playoff games. Next weeks game will be number 9. They are also the team with the best overall record in the eNFL 39-17-0 (0.696). Game RecapThe difference was the quarterbacks. And perhaps as a surprise to a lot of people it was (once again) Marc Bulger coming out on top. Peyton Manning only completed 18 of 38 passes (47.4%) for 201yds. He had 11 passes defended and only managed 5.1yds pr attempt. Bulger on the other hand had a great day. 10.3yds pr attempts and 343yds on 33 attempts (72.7%) was will not make it easier for St Louis to get him to sign a new cap-friendly deal after the season. But at the moment they don’t carer about that. 7 0 17 3 - 27 0 3 3 0 - 6 NYG:QB K.Collins 17-27-323, RB R.Ignasiak 25-79, WR A.Toomer 4-178 GBY:QB B.Favre 14-29-133, RB W.Henderson 4-25, WR R.Ferguson 5-77 Did You Know that: this was the 8th time Collins passed for +300yds in a single game and it was the second time in the playoffs. He now has 7 TD-passes in 3 playoff-games (still way behind Marc Bulger with 14 playoff TDs). Bret Favre is the only QB in the eNFL that have passed for +4000yds all three seasons (4340,4282 and 4027). It was only the 3rd time this season Favre had to leave the field without a passing TD and the second time the team is without a TD. Game RecapWith TD passes for 70, 64 and 93yds Kerry Collins once again made the playoffs a short experience for Bret Favre and his Green Bay Packers. The game was over when Favre was taken off the field in the beginning of the 4th quarter. By then he had been sacked 3 times, hurried 6 times and strained a patellar tendon. |

Week 20
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Conference Final Round Prewiev (11-6-1) @ (13-4) On the paper this look like an easy win for St Louis. They lead New York in almost every statistic in the eNFL and carry the point spred by 7. Still most experts see this game as to close to call. New York is one of only 6 teams with a winning record against the Rams (2-1) and with Kerry Collins healthy everything looks possible for the Giants this year. Tiki Barber is now listed as doubtful. The big question will be if the Rams secondary can stop Collins from throwing TDs. Last time the two teams played (week 5) Kerry Collins completed 22 of 32 passes for 349yds and 4 TDs in a 31-21 win. (12-6) @ (13-4) A very interesting match up. The best rush-defends in the eNFL against Preiest Holmes. Both teams score a lot of points (more then 20 pr game) but the game can easily be decided on turnovers. Kansas has the best turnover margin in the eNFL (+12) and Tom Brady leads the eNFL in interceptions this year (23). On the other hand Kansas played a sloppy game last week with two interceptions by Trent Green and the Colts showed that they can move the game to the ground if necessary. The two teams have only played once before. Last year Kansas won 28-20 in a game where Holmes had two rushing TDs. Non of the teams have any new injury problems before this weeks game. |

Week 20
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Conference Final Round Recap (11-6-1) @ (13-4) Game Recap It only took St Louis two plays and 0:33 sec got get out in front. When the Giants first drive stalled after six plays they tried to punt from their own 13yds line to get out of trouble. LDE Leonard Little managed to block Jeff Feagles and the bouncing ball was recovered by St Louis at the Giants 11yds line. Bulger did not waist any time and after a short loss on the first play the second play was a 12yds TD pass to Tyrone Calico. That was not the start New York had hoped for and it was getting worse. When the two teams went in to the locker rooms at halftime the score was 24-0 and New York was still looking for their first drive for more then 30yds. The second half started a little better for the Giants. Now it was their turn to block a punt from STL on the first drive of the second half and recovered the loss ball. Collins was just as efficient as Bulger and completed a 22yds TD pass to Jeremy Shockey on the very next play. But with Tiki Baber still injured Kerry Collins had started passing more then he liked to get back in the game. That proved costly when he was picked off twice in the second half. At the same time Bulger made no mistakes and completed 22 of 36 pass attempts for 243yds with no interceptions. St Louis moves on to their second eSuper Bowl in a row. 0 0 7 7 - 14 14 10 3 7 - 34 NYG:QB K.Collins 16-35-180, RB R.Ignasiak 17-53, WR T.Carter 4-59 STL:QB M.Bulger 22-36-243, RB M.Faulk 22-56, WR T.Calico 6-78 Did You Know that: 4 different quarterbacks have passes the ball for St Louis this year. Jason Seahorn has now turned down seven contracts offers from the Rams. New York have not allowed 30 points since week 2 in a game against, yes you gusted it, Kansas. The Rams is only one game away from copying their six game wining streak from last year. Kerry Collins had 31 TDs in this year’s regular season. That is just one less then he had in 2003-2004 combined. Code:
(12-6) @ (13-4) Game Recap At halftime it was still a close game. Kansas was up by 4 points but the Colts and Tom Brady was still very much alive. That changed in the second half. With 4 interceptions in the last 30 minutes of play Tom Brady and the Indianapolis self-destructed. He was also sacked a total of 5 times (4 of them by LDE Eric Hicks) and this must be a day Tom Brady wants to forget quickly. When Kansas got in to a rhythm in the second half they didn’t stop before they had 28 more points on the board. Trent Green had 7 different receivers with more then 30yds for the day. Kansas moves on to their first ever Bowl and win the right to represent the eAFC in eSuper Bowl III. 0 6 7 0 - 13 7 3 14 14 - 38 IND:QB T.Brady 15-36-256, RB T.Henry 20-60, WR T.Henry 3-85 KCY:QB T.Green 23-35-274, RB P.Holmes 25-98, WR P.Holmes 5-50 Did You Know that: it was the second time Trent Green had 4 TDs in a single game but it was the first time ever it happened in a playoff game. The 4 sacks by Eric Hicks is also a new eNFL playoff record. 38 points is a new eNFL playoff game scoring record. It was the 3rd time this season Tom Brady was intercepted 4 times in a single game. The Colts lost SS Tebucky Jones for 25 weeks with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Code:

Week 21
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------eSuper Bowl III Prewiev (14-4) @ (14-4) Welcome to the preview of eSuper Bowl III. After a long and very interesting season we are finally ready for he last game of the season. It has been closest season ever in the three-year history of the eNFL with 25 teams winning seven games or more. But now we are down to just two teams. Its time to introduce eAFC 2005 champions Kansas City Chiefs and eNFC 2005 champions St. Louis Rams. When the two teams enter the filed this Sunday it will be the first meeting ever between the two teams (if you don’t count the 2003 pre-season game that the Rams won 23-17). Lets take a look at the two teams. Code:
This will be at match between two quarterbacks loaded with confidence. Marc Bulger was injured early in the season but is now back and better then ever. They have almost similar records (Green 37-16 vs. Bulger 35-15) and the three years extra experience to Green is evened out by Bulgers experience from last year’s eSuper Bowl. Code:
The first instinct will be to give the advantage to Kansas in the running game due to the presence of Priest Holmes. He is the most scoring non-kicker in the eNFL with 356 points and has rushed for more then 1200yds every year. But a closer look shows that the Rams rushing-game is just as dangerous. Marshall Faulk is just a single TD behind Holmes this season and he is in front of him in Y/Att. He will be assisted by his sidekick Ricky ”not-the-dope-head” Williams just like Holmes can count on Maurice Morris. There is under 4yds between the two teams in Avg. YPG so we will have to look another place to find the deciding factor in this game. Code:
Rams have a strong team in Calico and Holt. Torry Holt have problems with a sprained ankle but will definitely play. Kansas don’t have the same star power in the receiver corps. Instead they have a bigger group with good receiving skills. St Louis will have to look out for Holmes, Gonzalez and Richardson when Green gets ready to pass. With only 14YPG between the two teams this duel is also to close to call. The difference can be the O-line. Rams quarterback have been sacked 40 times this season while Trent Green only have been taken down 23 times. The week link looks to be RT Steve Sciullo. His SPct of 2.3 (11 sacks allowed in regular season) is definitely a concern for GM. He will have the option to move Kyle Turley back to RT and play Jon Stinchcomb at LT. Only problems is that Stinchcomb allowed 3 sacks in the only game he started this season. Look out for LDE Eric Hicks trying to exploit the weakness. The Chiefs also have their own problems with rookie sensation C Leonard Ellison out for 8 weeks with a high ankle sprain. Casey Wiegmann who was the starter the last two seasons will replace him. Code:
St Louis can have a slight advantage on defends. They are the team allowing the least points pr game but Kansas is less then a FG behind. Chiefs have the best turnover margin in the eNFL but the Rams are just a few points behind. Rams make 5.0 points pr visit to the red zone Kansas “only” 4.9. The Rams will have to play LDT Damione Lewis with carer due to a broken hand and the Chiefs miss RCB Dexter McCleon because of elbow problems. This can be the closest and most interesting eSuper Bowl ever. Only 4 points separate the two teams on the power ranking and non of the teams have any big weakness. My guess for a result will be 20-17 with the winning FG being kicked inside the two-minute –warning. Good luck to both teams. |
