It was a great game with some terrible officiating down the stretch. My only complaint with this team is with the morons that selected it. Take off Marion, Anthony, Marbury, and LeBron and add someone capable of hitting an outside shot and this team would be great.

I don't remember who said it on this board earlier but I agree -JJ Redick would look good on this team.

So I'm watching the live updated scoreboard on NBCOlympics.com, and note that the US is down 4 with 5 seconds left. I also note that Stephon Marbury has played 32 minutes and gone 2/14 from the field. I'm wondering why he's in there. Suddenly the scoreboard updates and I note he's now 2/15

Well, Lithuania is the current Europe and World champion. USA losing by this small margin vs Lithuania can be called a great achievement ;D

And Jasikevicius is a thrill to watch.

First of all lebron has been spark plug for the poorly playing Us team, the other 3 sure get em out of here, but jj redick does not belong here either.

I can agree with you about LeBron, I was following the play by play the other day and it sounded like he had a great first half. I am interested in hearing why you think Redick does not belong though. I haven't seen a zone played that tight in any level past high school. If this were a full court pressing team I might agree with you about Redick but this team needs an outside shooter - any outside shooter.

I know redick is one of the best pure shooters around, and could probably shoot lights out on this zone.. but I just dont see redick on the USA olympic team, maybe its experience that hes lacking, but I dunno what makes me shy away from having redick on the team lol. maybe cause I dont think the rest of redicks play (besides the shooting) is ready for it. but your right just an outside shooter would make a pretty big difference.

Actually, I couldn't care less about who wins the trampoline (sp?) gold medal.

Ya know, at first it gave me a chuckle, now it's just sad. I say we reunite the original dream team and send them out there in 08.

So can't I, unless it turns out to be a Dutchman.

I guess living in a smaller country where every individual medal winner is a hero makes a difference compared to living in a country where it's almost a lock to see their sports people take home 100 medals.
(Like with individuals, the team players are heroes too, yet names don't keep in people's minds that easy with 20-men hockey teams.)
