I agree. They went from the best logo in sports to el crapola.

It could have been worse...

Outlining the logo in black is a very original idea too...

"What kind of car would this logo drive?"

I'm ashamed to be in Arizona right now.

I can see the team motto now,

"The Arizona Cardinals, that's one intimidating logo"

It seems to me all they did was take the old bird, shit in it's Wheaties, and got a picture of it kinda pissed off about having a dump in his cereal. Todd MacFarlane sure added a lot to that logo. That's the most impressive turnaround since Duchamp painted a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

I imagine there are a few Cardinals fans shooting the bird right now.

Todd MacFarlane had nothing to do with the new logo as far as I can see. He did offer his own rendition, but they didn't go with it.

I like McFarlane's logo better actually, though not on the black helmet. As a fan of my beloved Cardinals (I'm in a 12-step program right now), its nice to see they are trying to "improve" the overall image of the team, but I'd rather they concentrate their efforts on getting better players. That will improve the image a lot quicker given the joke they have been since moving to Arizona.

Must admit to not reading the article word for word. Considering what they came up with, maybe they should have gone with MacFarlane.

Now the Cards have an angry logo. The Seahawks did the same. Thought they needed a more intense face on the logo.

Next the Cowboys will have a burning star.

Bah. This sucks.

The Bidwells should have changed the mascot when they got to Arizona. The new stadium was the perfect opportunity to correct that error and overhaul the team's image to something their local fans can relate to and call their own.

Instead, they hang on to that stupid name. They just don't get it.

I blame the Arizona voters and politicians who have rewarded their stupidity and ineptitude with a state-of-the-art football stadium.

It's good that they didn't make a huge change - subtle is good, because it reduces the likelihood of a new crap logo.

That said, the Cards are the one team in the league who could use a uniform proverbial facelift. But it doesn't have to be extreme - throw some stripes on the sleeve or something. Don't over do it.

Cardinals shouldn't go with black helmets! Ugh, reserve the scarlett and white... too many teams use black as a primary color now, it's annoying.

I can see this for Madden 2006 already.

"Has your team had nothing but losing seasons? Now you can do things to change the overall demeanor of your franchise. Things like changing your logo to something similar, but with a meaner look......having your owener shave his head and put on muscle so he looks meaner....."

Now what can Cleveland do to make the color Brown have an attitude? Can you give the color Brown street cred?
