Seriously though, what is going on with the Air Force Base???? Any ideas?

My guess is either a bomb drop or a 9/11 plane attack.

Whatever it is, Jack will look cool taking it down single-handedly.

Yeah Michelle coming back was predictable but it was good to see her back. It's not like they kept it a secret with Reiko Aylesworth being one of the actors answering the prop phone number from a few episodes ago.

IMO, this season has flowed much better than last season. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Agreed. Been a solid, exciting season thus far. Though typically the stupid stuff tends to raise its ugly head around the 16th-20th eps.

Stupid stuff like a man with a device vital to national security with a one-person security detail riding a commuter train instead of a private jet? But I just like to sit back and enjoy the show instead of nitpicking!

Nah, stupid stuff like 2 hour amnesia, a top secrect service guy getting taken down by a bunch of racist rednecks in the middle of downtown LA... Stuff like that. But, I hear ya... In order to fully enjoy the show you've really just got to let a lot of stuff go.

i'm still waiting to see David Palmer make a return appearance.

My wife's also gotten hooked on this show, which is surprising. She showed no interest in watching the first few seasons on DVD with me.

I am still watching. I have thoroughly enjoyed this season thus far... Though the writing of this last episode was especially bad.

I'd like to see how Palmer is going to be brought back. I don't see any reason to bring in an ex-Pres. I also don't see why Imhotep wants Behruz. Seems that they planted the guy at the Air Force base to have him fly an F-18 (I think it was an F-18 in the shot) to take out Air Force One.

If Audrey gets back with Paul, Jack should cap both of them.

Well, the only thing I can figure is, that somehow, after the whole 'pulling out of the election' thing at the end of last season, he reached some sort of deal with the new President to become Vice-President, or a member of his Cabinet. To the best of my knowledge, they have not yet shown the new Vice President, and have hardly named all the members of his Cabinet. Sounds far-fetched but then what on this show at times does not?

Maybe the president and his cabinet ends up being injured/killed in an attack of Air Force 1 and they don't feel comfortable with the dweeb that's the speaker of the house taking over, so they bring in Cerano. Then again, maybe they need someone that can crush a fastball and lay off the breaking pitch

Thats exactly what I'm thinking. Although maybe it's to obvious since it's very clear something will happen in the air.

Yea, I too am thinking along the same lines of "killing off the cabinet", but I can't figure out how Palmer gets inserted.

I think ice4277 has the right idea.

I originally thought the plan was going to be to hijack the plane used to refuel AF1, and then use that to bring it down. But while I'm not sure what type of plane that guy was piloting (it might be an F-117 like you said), it sure looked more like a stealth bomber than what could be used to refuel a plane while in mid-air.

Of course, now I'm wondering why that plane was originally intended to be flying. It wasn't stolen...the (real) pilot had some sort of job to do. Remember how it was cleared for takeoff? What could a stealth bomber be doing during a national emergency? Is AF1 supposed to be receiving some sort of escort due to the threat, and this plane was one that was to be used?

My guess is that Dina Araz is still alive. There's a reason her death was offscreen. Also, this is likely why they wanted Behrooz. Just like with CTU, They want her to do something for them, but she refused until they got him back.

In this episode, they (CTU) said they found her body, so I think she is dead.

The plane they showed about to take off definately looked like the F-117.

I just think they're plan is to shoot down Air Force One and then the guy will emergency eject. Remember he didn't care at all about being able to land and the fact he is being paid all this money seems to make me think he wouldn't be martyr himself.

I think you are right. There has to be something on Airforce-1 that is of utter importance besides the President. What will that do for the terrorists, by killing the president, the VP would take over. Gotta think outside of the box, as in there is something that is on AirForce-1 that they can use to destroy us, I don't think their plan is to just kill the president. Nuclear Codes perhaps?

Maybe he's going after the White House? But I don't think he could fly from LA to DC and not be noticed he's off course. I don't believe WE have no way to track our own stealth bombers either. Most likely he's after the Pres.

edit: spelling

Question, when that FBI agent walks into the apartment, why in gods name did she walk into an empty apartment, pull out her gun for 2 seconds, and then decide to make a call without securing the apartment? What kind of half ass FBI agent was that? And why wouldn't they have sent more than 1 agent to that apartment?

Screw that. Why did they send Terri Bauer to the apartment?

Looking at the previews, it seems like Mike Novak is back. Anyone else not in the previous 3 seasons that have not been brought back? Miguel? Kim? Chase?

And what is it with Novak wanting to get the VP to take over? At least I now see the in for Palmer to come back.

Holy shit. Just watched tonight's episode... wow.

We in GA had an amber alert go out for about 5 minutes... edgar was preparing some report, chloe saw something she didn't like and she confronted edgar in front of michelle... I didn't get to hear any of that conversation, was it just edgar losing it b/c of the stuff w/ his mom or is something else going on?

Yep, Edgar was distracted and didn't use the right coding for the report. Chloe saw this and so stepped in and took the blame.
