Nope, not a PC game. It'll be the first game I play on my XBox in about 2 years.

Just picked it up using a couple of old gift cards that I never used. Played it 4 hours straight and must say it is a pretty fun game. Currently 4-1 in my first season.

Unfortunately I am going to have to stay away from this one, as I am trying to convince my wife we need an Xbox 360. If I don't get one at launch, this is a surefire game for my birthday on November 26.

There was a 360 up at the Walmart when I went to buy blitz. To be honest it looked really unimpressive, was probably the game. Don't know which one it was.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this but it appears that one of the coaches I can pick to start my team is non other than the last man Bill Walsh picked to be the 49ers QB of the future, the man, the myth, the legend himself Giovanni Carmazzi.

Bio: "A rising star looking for his first head coaching gig. Turned Chicago QB Shane Spain into a legend"
[Arm Accuracy Training Upgrade]

Caught me a little by suprise, I wasn't expecting any ex 9ers QB's to be in the game

What a huge disappointment rented it played it for three days won in division three and 2. When I got to Divison 1 all my starters were out injured for the season. The story is only 2 minute quarters. Sorry to be a whiner but I have been reading over at Operation Sports how great this game was going to be from the developer and what bummer.

I like it, a hell of a lot better than March Madness , but really, you can put up points in 2 minute quarters, I've had 50 dropped on me once and I've put up 50 twice, I couldn't imagine playing 5 minute quarters. In the 2 minute ones there are usually 3 or 4 total possessions. It just plays alot faster than a sim game, and for some reason I'm really liking it right now, about to play for the divison 3 title.

I too am really enjoying it. Im with Dubb....you can score a ton, but also get a ton scored on you. Ive lost a few which for me is nice ( not overly easy) but i really cant get enough of breaking guys bones.... Crushing a guy is pretty sweet to see and doesnt get old for me... The game is a nice change of pace and Dawgfan you did a real nice job. For me it lived up to what it said it was going to be. I think they can add a whole lot too it in the future versions. Hope they sell enough copies to make a series of it.

I'm a bit confused. How do you put up 50 if there are only 3 or 4 total possessions in a game?

3-4 possessions in each 2 minute quarter...

BTW, the RB with fumbling problems can really change some games. In the 10 game regular season I racked up 1732 yards with him and tons of TDs(really can't find where they keep that stat at but I know he had a couple 5 td games), but when he fumbles, he freakin fumbles. He lost 6 fumbles in the 2nd Chicago game and got us blasted 55-8.

EDIT: But he goes most games without a single fumble. Its a matter of which guy shows up.

Ahh, that makes a lot more sense. This game is sounding tempting. Maybe, I'll try renting it sometime soon (I rarely rent games, but this one sounds short enough that I might want to rent first.)

Yea, obviously from the reactions in this thread alone I wouldn't recommend going right out and buying it without playing it first. Some of the people, myself included, love the game. Some other people hate it or got bored with it within an hour or so.

Thanks for the props muns, and good to see you around. Don't give me too much credit though - I came in very late on the project and in the grand scheme of things I had a very small part in it - the rest of the animation team had a lot more influence on the final outcome than I did.

Yes, SirFozzie is right. It should be easy to unlock the Cyberball game. I might stop playing the campaign mode long enough to do that.

So far, my only problem with the game is that it's been too easy for me. I haven't played enough games to get out of division 3 yet, but I've been blowing everybody out. My challenge comes from trying to beat the point spread since I wager on all of my games. There was one game in which I was favored by 21, and I was up by 14 in the 4th quarter. I kicked off and the other team nearly returned the kick for a touchdown. A few seconds later, they were in the end zone, and I was only up by 7. I knew I had to score quickly since there were only about 80 seconds left in the game. I threw a long touchdown pass (and I rarely throw the football, so that was a feat in itself), and then I needed the onside kick. I didn't get it. The other team still had visions of coming back, though. They threw a quick pass and called timeout (so did I, because I didn't know that they were going to). They threw another pass which I intercepted. The cutscene came up of my defender taunting the QB. When the playcall screen came back up, I was still on defense! I figured out why, though. My player landed out of bounds after coming down from intercepting the ball. It still counted as an interception, but I didn't actually get possession of the ball. Obviously, in most other games, I'd say that this would screw up stats, but the stats don't matter at all in Blitz. Anyway, I somehow stopped the other team with about 15 seconds to go. I tried a running play which got me about 20 yards, and then I called timeout. I still had about 60 yards to go, and I was out of timeouts. I had to throw a long bomb to beat the point spread. Joy of joys, my receiver made a miracle catch and run to score a touchdown. I won my wager.

It's kind of weird that the game ended up being dramatic when I was up by two touchdowns. Honestly, I haven't really been challenged in the campaign mode yet. Maybe later in the season.

Heh, it's odd, I have had very little luck running the ball and have relied almost completely on passing, just running when I'm trying to kill some time.

I'll have to play it some more, keep on firing up The Warriors instead. That Cyberball thing rocks though, I'll have to look into that, and I really want to unlock a coop mode, need to find out how to do that.

I'm enjoying the team introductions before each game, neat feature, although I've only seen 2 so far.

My first team made it out of Div. 3, but I was getting beat bad in Div. 2. I restarted my career and am focusing on a strong DL and quick and agile LB's on defense. On offense, my rookie QB is ligthing up the league.

How does one go about building their team in the campaign mode? Is there some kind of way to restock?

If you have the game and can't figure it out there are three ways. First, you can upgrade your training equipment and assign the players to work on the attributes of your choice and build the team that way.

Second you could try some legal and illegal substances. If you ever get Jet Juice, give it to your entire team, trust me. The only downside is they only last for 3 weeks, but I've noticed you retain about half the effect of the substance permanently.

Third, you can buy better helmets, shoulder pads, shoes, etc. and upgrade your entire teams attributes all in one setting.

Of course all this depends on how much money you have and how wisely you can spend it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, if you don't have the game and are asking...what you do is at the start you draft a rookie on offense, and sign a vetern on defense. The rest of you team will pretty much be scubs and you build the entire team up as you can see in my above post.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can say this. I ran through D III pretty easy going 8-2 and winning the championship. The losses were to blame on my rookie RB fumbling.

In D II, I had it pretty easy, my team was too slow to beat Carolina, but I soon got that under control thanks to some illegal substances and ran though it 8-2 winning the championship.

Now in D 1, injuries are killing me, I'm missing 7 starters and got hammered by the Nightmare in my first game 48-14. The sad thing about that game was they only scored 1 offensive TD, ran 1 kickoff back for a TD and the rest were all defensive touchdowns. They are a really scary team that I'm not sure I will be able to beat with my current group.

beat it in 3 days, its a rental, and a fun one at that. Don't really have any desire to play it now that the story is done.

Enjoying it so far, I'm 6-0 and 1 game away from beating division 3. Played a couple of fun games vs a non-sports buddy and they were actually close. But now that I've played the 1-player, I bet I can whoop him

Got it with the Toys R Us Buy 2 Get 1 special, so the $28 price tag was pretty sweet and worth it for me.

At my work (where we sell used games) the price just dropped to $15. It's definitely worth it at under $20 for anyone who hasn't played it yet.

Anyone buy Blitz: The League 2?

Does it have a multi-season career mode?
