Okay, so I've got the game finally, and I'm trying to figure out the data editor. When I click on "club" the thing crashes. I've also added a couple lines to the init.cfg file (sugar daddy for Rangers and Celtic).

I'm trying to make it so Rangers and Celtic have tons of money, and possibly friendly chairmen. Any ideas?

It is up now. If you hurry you could be the first to get it as it shows 0 d'loads right now.

http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=view&id=365

Be prepared though my patch took about 3 hours to d'load last night when normally it would have been about 5 minutes. Nice to see lot's of FM
mirrors but none for wwsm

I do believe though someone posted they got theirs in about 30 minutes this am off the SI sight.

I just hope that when the digidownload patch comes out, it fixes the crashes from threading or whatever other cause.

Honestly Riz it is not my fault!! Evertime I take time to start a EHM 2005 Career these pushers give me another reason to pick up the FM one hitter and I cant stop!!!

I promise only a couple of more seasons and I will put it down and fire up EHM.

Sorry about that guys. I was going by it being listed at the bottom of the page but after reading this I tried it I got a "file does not exist" message.

I'm sure it wasn't there earlier so they at least must be getting close?

okay, I think I get it, this file #365 is the 6.0.2 patch for FM2006, but the patch for the digidownload doesn't look to be available yet. Looking at the bottom, if I click on the "WSM 2006 Patch 6.0.2 (Digital River)" link, it returns a "ERROR! The selected file does not exist." message...

sigh...

you posted as I posted what I had figured out. Their website is really confusing and it's a shame...

Agreed that seeing the link there can only be a sign of the patch coming soon...

I'd just look using the game (the "Check for Updates" button, or whatever it's called). It knows what version of the game (i.e. digital download) and will take you to the download when it's up.

It probably won't be up untill after lunch (on the east coast) anyway.

And hey, just finished up the final two games of my first season with Spurs! I thought Europe was done for after young Stephen Kelly screwed up and let Portsmouth score (on Radek Cerny, my #2)...but the Footballing Gods were smiling upon the Spurs! Newcastle lost to Chelsea and, I think, drew their last game. West Brom lost to somebody, and I beat Middlesborough 3-1 in the final game of the year, easily securing 5th.

Not bad, considering I lost my first 3 games of the year, and struggled around 10th or 11th most of the season untill April!

Note to SI: Spurs do good the first half of the season, then play like crap and at the end of the season. It seems to be the other way around.

Or perhaps my plan of slowing the tempo and using more time wasting (primarily to screw with the other teams flow) just worked that well.

Note to PraetorianX: Spurs are my outside bet for the Champions League this season irl, they've got an impressive squad not just in 'starting players' but a decent amount of cover as well ...

oh boy, not to sound pessimistic but it could be a good couple of days before it's all sorted out with these fellows...

I do appreciate the report Marc. Keep up the good work!

and the shit has officially hit the fan... from Grant Appleyard on the SI Forums in a single post thread titled "WSM Digital River Patch 6.0.2 - delayed"
http://community.sigames.com/groupee...1/m/3172016681

Quote:
*This message is for users who have downloaded and installed Worldwide Soccer Manager*

Unfortunately I have just had word from the US that Digital River are on "holiday schedule". We require for them to process the exe before we can put it into the patch. We have had a message from our Account Manager however stating that she is trying to contact the person who can do the job.

Obviously I'm not too pleased about this and I'm trying everything in my power to get it wrapped and released for you guys.

As soon as there is any news I'll report it here of course - sorry about the delay.

Thanks,
Grant
This is sad, really sad, SEGA doesn't care about us guys, it is laughable. I've kept my cool for most of the joke that was the delayed day after day of the WSM digidownload release, but this one is the stupidest... Let's only hope that "on holiday schedule" doesn't mean "we'll get back to you on January 9"...

Eh, oh well. Digital River...never have liked them. I wish Sega used ViaTech, but oh well. I'll continue on with my game, I've made it one season and having a blast, don't see why I couldn't go another.

BTW, FM, why bashing Sega? From what I read, it's Digital River that is the problem (and surely anybody here who had one of the earlier versions of FOF done through DR would know that it is, in fact, The Devil.) I'm sure Sega (and even SI and Digital River) are not out to purposely screw with the game and diminish it's reputation (and potential future sales). A lot of companies have lesser holiday schedules this time of the year. It's not entirely uncommon.

The GameStop in the mall right down the street from me has a boxed copy of WWSM 2006. Too bad I already have the downloaded version. I could see if this was delay was happening Thursday or Friday, but it's Tuesday. Are they seriously on such a schedule over there at Sega that they don't have anybody who can handle this in the middle of the afternoon 5 days before Christmas? This is just silly.

let me go all Pumpy Frog Tudors Man on everyone and agree with you 100%. I mean, IT'S ONLY DECEMBER 20TH PEOPLE!!! NOBODY IS ALREADY ON HOLIDAY SCHEDULE, NOBODY!!!!! sheesh...

As I said, sad, sad support from Sega. Nothing to say against SI, you guys rock, but Sega has a bit of work to do to be up to par...

Haha, Pumpy Frog Tudors Man is back! Seriously, I don't know how they do things elsewhere, but I assume that Digital River (at least the division that's partnering with Sega of America) is over here in the US. Like FM said, pretty much nobody is on any "holiday schedule" here. Hell, I know of a few places where people will be lucky to get half a day off just on Friday. What's Digital River doing? Giving their people the next two weeks off? If it was evening or if it was a day or two before Christmas, I can understand. It's between 11:25am and 2:25pm all over the continental US on December 20, and apparently, the one doofus at Digital River who can handle this isn't available. Say what?

All right, I've downloaded the patch. While trying to install it, it asked for the location of my fm.exe file -- even though I have WSM. I selected the wsm.exe file. When I opened up the game, it still said Version 6.0. Then I looked in the directory, and saw that it created a file called fm.exe. I opened that up and it says Version 6.0.2. Did I screw something important up, or am I okay?

Marc, I want to know how you figure a 73MB file will download in 38 min with a 56k? I started before I went to bed, and when I woke up it had gotten hung up around 45mb. I restarted, but gave up do to server traffic, and the projected 20 hour DL time. Right now I am back up to 33% but still have about 6.5 hours to go. Whooohooo!

At this point I am very happy that I grabbed the disk from Gamestop online. That whole DD thing is a mess.

I think you got the wrong patch. Mine went right to the wsm.exe, nothing about an fm.exe. The file you should have gotten would be "420.exe".

why not host the stinking digital river patch somewhere wlse temporarily...this is ridiculous. Feels somewhat like bait and switch, same price for Digital download but not the same product or support? hmmm

the problem isn't in the hosting per se, but mostly in the final operation that Sega has to do, the "wrapping" of the patch so it works with the digidownload version of the game. Still, it sucks... Posted a request for information of some sorts on the SI forums at about 8 this morning and nobody has acknowledged anything yet...

Basically digi-download purchases start off as a normal game with NO copy-protection but a few coded hooks in them which will eventually link to DigitalRiver stuff - we then package our stuff off to them ask them nicely to "wrap it up" so to speak and they return us a completed package which handles all the online copy-protection/purchasing stuff.

Unfortunately because all of this 'wrapping' is done outside of SI we have to wait patiently for such things to be completed, which can be frustrating for all concerned at times.

thanks for the explanation Marc. I wasn't that far though

So I take you guys are still waiting on a return on your emails, right? They really need to get this done before Friday or else this will take a loooooong time... I'm off work for two weeks starting Friday at 4:15 and would hate it to have this massive amount of playing time not be spent playing with the patches version of the game. Not that the 6.0.1 code is really bad, but it's frustrating not to be able to play with the latest one when a new version is available...

who votes for Flasch as the new SI Games North American connection with Sega? I know I do. I'm sure they'd be working their asses off not to be kicked in the mouth...

And I agree with this, the patch *IS* savegame compatible and it's not as if you'll be so much into your career that any permanent damage will have been done. I've played one season with Luton and I've enjoyed it immensely. I'll simply patch it and keep on playing...

Yeah, I mean there are no show-stopping bugs that would make your career all wacky if you didn't start over.

Just dive in.

Don't all keepers do freaky stuff??? No, really that keeper thing hasn't bothered me, especially since I have played in the lower leagues and think that's how crappy keepers play anyway.

well, your choice of being at Rimini forever or not isn't really dependant on the patch, so the diving in shouldn't be based on that. As for the keeper bug, read the line again:

Quote:
- Fixed obscure bug where keeper will run out of own area to intercept an impossible ball and leave goal empty

This could mean that once in a blue moon, you'll give away a weird looking goal, so maybe you'll lose one game because of that, what the heck. It's never happened to me btw. My biggest gripes are the defenders doing wild clearances accross their penalty area, still this won't stop me from playing the game...

Thanks in advance.

heh, nothing against Graeme, but it's déjà vu all over again in terms of playing email tag accross the big pond...

At least there's some action being taken on it. My thinking was that it's just been sitting there dormant for the last day.
