Out of curiosity, what are some of your favourite UIs/AddOns?
I'm looking over some of the more highly rated ones at the various UI websites but, to me, nothing is quite as good as feedback from people I "know" best (here and at OO). Help a n00b! ![]() |

Maybe we can all be Blood Elves with names like LegolasXXXX .Common server is good... though I'd like to be Horde, I think. I may actually roll a Blood Elf Blood Knight in that case .

Well, I'm a n00b as well, but I've gotten neck deep in the UI/Addon world and right now I'm running: FuBar - Information bars on the top and bottom of the frame (with the various addons for the bar: Clock, Volume, RecZone, Auditor, SkillsPlus, XP, Experience, MicroMenu, Emote, Bag, Performance, and a few other stuff on the bar for other addons) Bongos - action bar movement and editing CyCircled - making the buttons circular and glossy (as one option) simpleMinimap - making the Minimap square (as one option) Detached MiniMap Buttons - fairly obvious what this does eCasting Bar - a nicer casting bar (including target casting bar) eePanels - for making seperate boxes for buttons or chat boxes Prat - chat options CTMod - I mainly use it for the Buff bar and for the tooltip placement, but it has some good stuff Atlas - intricate maps of instances, battlegrounds, etc AtlasLoot Enhanced - shows the loot in instances.. AtlasQuest - quests for instances.. Cartographer - replacement for map vBagnon - one large bag ag_Unitframes - much better (IMO) looking unitframes That's off the top of my head. I can't remember some of the others, though I'm sure there are a few more. As for ESSENTIAL mods (IMO): Atlas, AtlasLoot Enhanced, AtlasQuest Cartographer simpleMinimap Bongos (Bartender3 or Trinity also does the same thing) FuBar (or TitanPanel) + their various addons

Well I've spent way too much of the last two days doing quests in the new zone behind the portal. I like the area, and as always with Blizzard some of the quests are quite entertaining and cleverly named(one quest is entitled "Outland Sucks"
... another you get a temporary felguard pet, kill some stuff, and the pet eats the animal you kill, takes a dump and you have to root through the "fel poo" to find an item, leaving you with a debuff named "Stanky" for 30 seconds or a minute). The quests are good, there are a *ton* of them, but holy crap nothing will beat instances for levelling. We did the first instance last night, Hellfire Ramparts I believe is what its called, 4 times. We weren't going really hardcore, we could have done it in under 3 hours, but we were going back to sell/repair/try to get quests after our reputation went up, etc. the exp was astounding. The next instance everyone is calling the Furnace, I don't know its official title, hopefully I'll be getting 62 there tonight. As far as the "politics" of being in a big guild, I'm not terribly happy with the server move I just did, however, moving to one of the brand new, empty servers, has its advantages... no competing over outdoor spawns for quests primarily, no server crashes b/c of the small population, and on my old server(Malygos) the alliance outnumbered the horde by about 6:1(my understanding is that Malygos is one of the worst as far as the alliance/horde ratio). Somehow, its not like that on the new one, hooray! The horde is actually in control of the world pvp stuff in Outlands so far. |

Two essential add-ons, in my opinion.
Titan panel - Gives you a lot of information like pace you on on to level, how many free spots in your bags, damage percentage, location coordinates, gold. Auctioneer - mouse over the object and you can see not only the vendor proce but how much it has been going for in auction on your server, it gives you a suggested price for auction to be able sell quickly and profitably. One that is great for quilds: Calendar (I forget if there is another part of the name) - lets you set up events and raids so that all in your guild can see by clicking on the calendar. |

Auctioneer is very nice. I finally started using it just before 2.0 and now I'm in withdrawal because it hasn't been updated yet.

I think it's called Guild Calendar, but if he types in "Calendar" into Curse-Gaming or ui.worldofwar.net, it should pop up. I used to use Titan Panel as well. I liked it, but I think there are just more plug ins for the FuBar.

I've tried both Fubar and Titan Panel and really prefer Fubar because of Honorfu and the fact that I use bartender3 action bars.
Perl Classic is a nice mod for easy to use and customize Unit Frames. CT Mail Mod is an absolute must-have, can't live without mod. TipBuddy is nice for hover over info of NPCs and players. I should hit 62 tonight and I'm already at 307 Jewelcrafting. I had been stockpiling mats to prepare for jewelcrafting for at least a month prior to the expansion. Speaking of bartender3. I use bongos. Have you used both of them? And if so, what do you like better about bartender3?
Though I do like the cyCircled works with bongos as well as bartender3 (even though cyCircled and bartender3 are both Ace2 mods while bongos is not).

When playing my rogue the action bar would lock sometimes when I went to stealth or unstealthed, so I'd either be stealthed with my normal buttons on the bar or unstealthed with my stealth buttons on the bar. No idea what caused it or why it would happen, but thats why I switched to bartender3. The thing I like most about bartender3 is all changes can be made from a drop-down menu on Fubar, but both mods are good IMO and I would have probably stayed with bongos if it hadn't bugged out on me sometimes. |

I'd love to have a FOFC guild, but we'd need a common affiliation (Horde or Alliance), and probably similar races (Dwarves/Gnomes/Humans can all meet in Stormwind thanks to the tram to Stormwind, but for example, Night Elves, Blood Elves, the new Alliance Race and Tauren all have their own start areas)

Thanks for the info . The drop down does sound like a good option. Right now I got bongos set up the way I want... but I'll keep a close eye on what changes each make in the future!

hit 62, whee.
I used a ton of mods for raiding before they broke the game in early december(the big pre-xpac patch, the end of raiding for my guild at least), since then i've picked some back up that I love: X-Perl Unit Frames - I'm using this one specifically because it has an option to fade out the frames of people not in range of a specific spell(I set it to flash heal as a priest), so I always know who is nearby for healing. Clique - click casting, lets you assign spells to mouse clicks, and then you click on the unit frame to cast the spell. For example, mine are set up so that shift-left click = flash heal(highest rank), shift-middle = flash(rank 5), shift-right = best greater heal, ctrl-left = renew, alt-left = power word shield, etc. Chronometer - tracks your heals over time/DOTs, shows who you've casted them on and how long they have left. Decursive - even without being able to click on it just seeing everyone in the raid that has debuffs I can cure is mandatory CT Raid - mandatory for raiding I'm not using a bar mod right now, I used to use Nurfed, but I'm just using the default blizzard bar at the bottom, and the two additional bars on the right side for other spells. marking my place for the updates. grats on 62 Radii!!!
Also, I would be all for an FOFC guild as long as we realize it would most likely be an alt guild for many and if we could agree on a faction and server type. |

Of course it'd be an alt guild
.I'm up for anything (faction, server type). I want to try Horde next, so that's my preference.

I'm also up for an FOFC Guild, alts or not.
Bodkin has hit 57, and I'm having a hell of a time finding a group to run BRD with. I've got 8 freaking quests in there right now, and I just want to get through it.

We may need another thread to hash out a FOFC guild. Lots of things have to be decided after all.

I dinged 58 today, and decided to check out Outland. Holy crap...in about two hours, I got 59, and got almost entirely new gear. That stuff is amazing out there.

Well, I had to spec shadow, which I'm fairly disappointed about, to continue levelling b/c I wasn't able to get groups for instances as readily as I'd hoped(I honestly wanted to level to 70 by running 8-10 instances a day, I was running 2 or so instead). I spent the night last night duoing nagrand quests with a warrior buddy of mine and hit 66. I had to log right after I got my new spells, I cannot wait to try out shadowfiend tonight.

I've taken advantage of a free character transfer and moved all of my characters from Eldre'Thalas to Trollbane. Still not back on-line, however. Perhaps in a couple of weeks.

Is there anyway at all to remove that blank space before the table. I have tried everything that I can think of but no luck. I see a dynasty where someone has a table with no blank space but that was actually what I originally copied this from but still get the space. Any advice is appreciated. |

Rhiow is 70 now. If Comcast hadn't died I would have been keyed to Karazhan last night.
It's so cool doing 5 man instances and seeing bosses with abilities like the 40 man bosses in the old world, that you can get a true challenge regardless of your gear in just a good 5 man with your friends. |
