some strangely paranoid people around these parts... having said that, I have no preference on seating choices, etc. so I always let my wife decide on her seat. I'll grab whichever she doesn't choose. Make things simple I guess...
also a question: how often do fires/ gunfights/ bomb explosions/ etc. take place where some of you guys live?!? ![]()

ALWAYS,ALWAYS,ALWAYS sit facing the majority of the restaraunt, and will ask for a wall if I see a table available.
Wife knows it and as we are walking towards a table will position ourselves accordingly. Always on the street side on sidewalks or parking lot. And on the "nighstand" side of the bed. In our current room configuration that puts her closer to the door. I'm not paranoid, just prepared ...in almost every room of my house.... |

Well put! Paranoia is rampant around here. Don't you guys realize that the threat while you're sleeping isn't going to come through the bedroom door, but from monsters that are under the bed?

I usually sleep against the wall. Every woman I have ever dated takes longer to get ready in the morning and gets up earlier than me. So she gets the out side and can get up without climbing over me.

Very rarely, but then houses very rarely burn down yet people still buy insurance. It only takes one time to really mess things up, so you prepare as necessary. |

Seriously, I have never heard about facing the whole restaurant. When I eat, I want to look at as few people as possible, so I can shovel food down my gullet with wild abondon.
If given a choice, I'd have to say near the closest door. That way, if the shit does hit the fan, I can bail without paying. |

I asked my friends Mark and Sonia which side of the bed they sleep on and Sonia said, "Mark sleeps on the left hand side . . . because he's left-handed."

I have to sleep away from a wall in as open an area as possible. If the bed has a headboard (mine doesn't) I sleep upside-down. I am claustrophobic and need to feel openness. It is strange... I moved into a new apartment a week ago, and my bedroom is only about 7x11. My queen bed fits in sideways, so there is only a few inches of room between the bed and wall. I need that few inches, plus I sleep as close to the edge as possible.
I never mentioned how a woman sleeps with me, because the odds of that happening are worse than my winning the lottery (and I don't waste money on tickets!) |

There is another theory towards sitting towards facing the majority of the restaurant: if you sit that way, you can check out all the chicks in the restaurant. If you sit facing the wall, all you have to look at is your wife/girlfriend. ![]() |

There is that. People assumed us door watchers were just paranoid ![]() By the way, in case the Rosalind Shays reference didn't click with some people, I was joking about the elevators (although I have had a wierd falling into an elevator shaft dream twice in the last week.)
