Ah well, at least we're back to one score.

They should handicap the Saints and give the Pats one extra defender .

It was PI on the first one, but still a ball thrown behind Welker by Brady. If he puts that in front it was a TD. And of course, the refs ensure the makeup call next down.

It must have been Meriwether on the blown coverage - he followed Brees' eyes pretty blatantly on that early throw to the end zone he almost picked, and Brees/Payton took advantage of it there.

The no-call PI with Welker was negated by the miss hold call on the pats OLine on the same play. (Blatent hold on Sed Ellis.) But the refs did a good job of punishing the Saints DBs for multiple contacts after 5 yards.

Drew Brees and that quick release makes it miserable to try and stop. They know they need pressure but everytime they blitz Brees gets rid of the ball so damn fast.

Maybe. It's more Brees being able to throw a football through a tire from 60 yards though I think.

It will still be a game DT dont give up. Pats are going to score here making 24-13 or 24-17 and they get the ball to start the 2nd half.

As Pats and Saints fans in 2009 (aka good passing offenses in a pass-happy era) I think uncalled holding penalties are par for the course at this point. i.e. no holding penalties on either offensive line through 2 quarters.

Still, that first play where Welker was held but uncalled and this next touchdown to Meachem show the difference between Brees and Brady right now. It would have still been a TD even with the contact, but Brady threw it a yard behind Welker. Meanwhile Brees just dropped a 50 yard bomb in stride 6 inches from the defenders hands.

I love Meriwether's aggressiveness and overall play this year, but gotta call him out when it is taken advantage of.

Whoever said it earlier is right - Carney looks terrible.

Yeah, usually it's Welker or Moss. Other teams can brag all they want about shutting down one, but the other always tears it up. But they've both been pretty quiet. Rarely happens.

They got to figure out a way to get the ball to Welker and/or Moss. Brady's had time, even when he's been hit he's had time. Either no ones open or he's just missing them.

The only hitch in the Saints' point-scoring ability is the lack of a kicker. An offense like that should not be kneeling the ball at the 40 with 13 seconds to play. But they did it because a FG isn't a realistic option from any kind of decent distance.

Carney is scary from short distances right now too. When the Saints are healthy, kicker is definitely the team's big weak spot right now.

Didnt they draft a guy that was suppose to be good? I know he was suspended but why hasnt he gotten the job since?

Wow is right. That, in effect, was the ballgame if Ellis doesn't decide to play RB. Payton also remains the worst challenge coach in the league. What in the world is he arguing here?

The Saints drafted their P/KO man, Morestead. Their other kicker, Hartley, is a street FA. He's been inactive every game following his suspension.

The punter we drafted (who has been awesome) is our backup kicker on gameday right now. He has the leg for long FGs, but not enough FG experience, and probably not much in terms of accuracy.

You are thinking of the previously suspended Garrett Hartley, who has shown accuracy and leg strength, but still an unproven commodity as well. They keep him inactive, I think Payton is afraid to hurt the team's chances by moving away from the vet. (Odd to see Payton play it so safe in several respects this year.)

If Belichick was scared of Manning leading a TD drive on him, he must be shitting his pants because of Brees.
