Strapoudopolos Shackles St Cloud
Tuesday, August 27th, 2024: All went well for Quinn Strapoudopolos of the Stafford Terriers as he pitched his team to a 6-0 shutout victory over the St Cloud Raindrops, limiting them to 3 hits while ringing up 4 strikeouts and surrendering 2 walks.

In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Strapoudopolos.

His manager described him this way: "He's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy. He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

The St Cloud skipper said, "He doesn't give you anything twice. It's a guessing game with him and today my club was always guessing wrong."

This year Strapoudopolos has worked 148.2 innings with 110 strikeouts en route to a 5-11 record and a 4.24 ERA.

I went when I was in 8th grade I think. The last 10 years, any time I've been in the area has been for work and I've mostly stayed over near the Reston, VA area over by the airport

Lasseter RL's #1 Pitcher in August
Sunday, September 1st, 2024: The Pitcher of the Month has been picked and the Republic League trophy went to Cleveland hurler Henry Lasseter for his strong performance in August.

During the month, Lasseter was impressive with a 2.11 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss. In 38.1 innings he struck out 19 and gave up 35 hits and 6 walks.

So far this season Lasseter has a 10-8 record, 27 starts, 165.2 innings, 96 strikeouts and a 4.62 ERA.

Continental League Announces #1 Starter
Sunday, September 1st, 2024: Ricardo Castro nailed down August's Continental League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on St Cloud to get a deal done before the 30-year-old becomes a free agent.

Castro seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 5-1 record, reeled off 32 strikeouts, worked 40.2 innings and held batters to a .224 average for the month as he posted a 2.21 ERA.

This year Castro has gone 14-7 with an ERA of 3.41 and has 135 strikeouts in 184.2 innings.

Washington has clinched a playoff spot and homefield advantage in the CLCS!

Chicago has a magic number of 6

St. Cloud, Oshawa and Stafford are still mathematically alive.

Portland has a magic number of 4
New York has a magic number of 5

Maricopa is the only other team in the RL still mathematically alive. The defending champion Waikiki Beach Boys are among those eliminated this week.

We're all winners here. I want to build up all of the owners by telling you all how wonderful you are and not single out the ones that experience failure.

In the end we all get blue ribbons and a juice box no matter how well we do!

Its usually every other summer. We have something going on right now that is going to cost a lot of my savings account so a vacation will be skipped this year. Announcement in a few weeks to tell everyone what is up. Don't worry arrangements are being made to hold my league spot for the couple weeks I may be gone.

Chicago Hurler Captures 200th Victory
Wednesday, September 25th, 2024: History was made today at Chicago Stadium -- Mike Wheaton won game #200 to seal his name in the league record books. The Chicago ace downed the Havana Banana Sluggers 2-0 to gain entrance into the elite 200 Club.

"I was wound up at first. I think I threw too hard," remarked Wheaton, "I had to calm down and go out there and pitch... not just throw. I think I got better as the game wore on. I started to think less about 200 wins and more about doing what I had to do."

The 36-year-old Wheaton has sat down 2209 batters on strikes, walked 619 and put up a 3.88 ERA. His career won-lost record is 200-152.

I work from home, so it's fine! (well as long as you get here while I'm here. Otherwise my wife might get confused!)

Don't think she'd be angry as much as not sure why someone was showing up at our door for a juicebox!

None of them speak Spanish. (My oldest two daughters are from my first marriage way back when). My youngest understands spanish but doesn't speak much (just a few words. She pretty much is about the same level as I am as far as understanding and lack of speaking though)

Maybe I need my own show on TLC. They seem to be giving those away these days to every family.

Final game of the season!

Chicago wins or Stafford loses and Chicago is in the playoffs!

A Chicago loss with a Stafford win forces a best of 3 playoff series between the two teams to determine which one advances.

New York Win or Maricopa loss means New York is in the playoffs.

A New York loss plus Maricopa win means a best of 3 playoff between these two as well.

Damn. Can't help but think if I had asked you to AI my lineups and rotation after the signings it could've made that 1 game difference.

Not bad for an "F" team though!

Why did the Wildcats pick this year to play way above thier expectations? I would have liked to get the number one draft pick to grab a star pitcher. haha
