Michigan got a first down and the clock ran for 10 seconds. They reviewed the first down but never set the clock properly.

Michigan - Michigan St. game was far more exciting than the 12-10 score indicates. Glad Michigan was able to reclaim "Big Brother" status!

Make sure you see Texas Tech's TD in the second OT (I suspect highlight shows will help with that)

K-State just destroying West Virginia. Someone might want to tell the coach that defense and a running game are important too.

Nice return. But it means West Virginia has to send their defense right back onto the field.

Geno Smith probably falls completely out of the race. He seems completely confused by zone defense and is unable to move the ball. Last two weeks are probably damaging his draft stock as well.

Ugly. I havent seen much. Was at chuch and our Fall Festival. Was watching bits of it on our phone.
But I heard at one point with about 5 minutes left in the half PsU had 41 plays. So I can only imagine its our terrible QB leading us to 3 and outs again. Im going to hawkeyenation to get the scoop now. |

Its brutal.
Fans are not happy. Our QB is getting abused. Booed at home. Ferentz wont take him out. He is a 5th year Sr. and he is the worst QB in the B1G. Which says a lot. |

I gotta say, I'm loving the season K-State is putting up. Snyder is one of my fave coaches in the entire country.

What I've learned tonight
1) Alabama is what we thought they were. Crown their asses. 2) Tennessee is what we thought they were. Fire the ass. 3) Kentucky is so low on the totem pole that they can't even get a call at home. No chance in hell the refs were gonna let them win this game, even if they lucked into a chance to do so. 4) There is no team that Georgia can't play down to the level of. There is also no staff -- outside of Knoxville & Atlanta apparently -- that CMR & Company can't at least be equaled, if not outcoached, by.

Best thing I've read about UT football in a while. Given AD Hart's background -- he worked under Mal Moore, who went through 4 coaching flops before striking gold -- I think tonight might have sealed the fate of Derek Doofus.
Tennessee AD Dave Hart says Vols must move with 'urgency' to catch SEC's elite » GoVolsXtra

I don't think anyone could have really done anything with the state of morale around Penn State early on. The fact that they are playing decently now is nothing short of a miracle, to be honest.

PSU just needs to get past their sanctions and there's easily an opening for being one of the top 3-4 in the conference. It's kind of sad PSU was an offensive minded coach away from being a quality team and yet they kept Paterno on.

West Virginia has given up 212 points in 4 Big XII games this year.
6 teams (Alabama, LSU, Temple, Florida State, Penn State, Michigan) gave up less than 212 points last season in 13 or 14 games. Alabama gave up exactly half as many. |

I didn't watch it either but it sounded like we played sloppy again and Price was trying to force things way to much. I am a victim of the PAC 12- DTV dispute and had to go to an event at my bosses house so I couldn't even tape it. |

I've watched just about every WVU game for the past 20 years. This is the worst defense they've ever had, and it's not even close. It might be the worst BCS level defense I've ever seen. Now the offense is really rattled as well. That said, it does seem like KSU is really good this year. |

Ugly, ugly two weeks for WVU.
I agree about the defense. I'd guess I'm about the same age as Timmy and I have never seen our defense (or any unit) as consistently awful as it is right now. We lost a lot of starters and contributors to graduation last season, but the tackling and coverage has been a joke. It is hard for me to believe that every defensive back that we have fails to find the ball when it is thrown (I think I saw one player, #7, make a play on a thrown ball late in the 4th quarter -- every other play that I saw, the DB had their back to the ball, following the player without ever finding it). It almost seems like it must be coached, as I cannot see so many players failing to play the ball. I think KSU is one of the most cohesive, well-coached teams that I have ever seen. They are ridiculously well disciplined, they walked off the field in a lined group formation (while kind of cheesy, they got ~65 players into formation in about 15-20 seconds, which just demonstrates their cohesion and discipline) at halftime, and they tackle ridiculously well. If Alabama or Oregon slip up, I can see them coming in and being more prepared in the BCS game and winning. |

Just a shitty, shitty game. Wilcox - for some bizarre reason - went with a 3-4 look, and the 2 OLB were really safeties playing pass coverage - and allowed Ka'Deem Carey to run wild. Sark had some good plays dialed up, but was waaaaay too pass-happy in this one despite a lot of success the times they ran the ball. Keith Price had another shitty game not taking care of the ball and missing throws.
Even with some blown coverages and questionable play-calling, they were able to go into the half at 17-31, and on the first play of the 3rd quarter forced a fumble off of Carey. But then Price promptly fumbled it back on a scramble, and the TD Arizona got after that basically sealed the deal. Just a really bad game overall. There is definitely a lot of grumbling about Sark now, and even if he pulls off the 3 wins he should get in the 2nd half - over Utah, Colorado & WSU - he'll probably be on a warm seat next year. If he wins less than 6 games this year, he'll likely get next year, but his seat will be roasting hot. Personally, I think he should get 5 years either way considering what he inherited, but I'm definitely seeing reasons for concern about him long-term. His failures in improving line play on both sides of the ball are major root-causes for the team still stuck in mediocrity. The issues he's having with the offense this year and the divide that is building between him and Price are troubling. I don't think it's too late for him to turn things around here and be a successful coach, but he's burned through most of the goodwill he'd built up early in his tenure. |

Sadly, this play didn't clinch UNC's 9th straight win over Duke like I thought it could. But it's still a crazy highlight.

Florida State will probably have to ban the #4 jersey after this year. Week 1, #4 Brandon Jenkins, an AA candidate at DE suffers a Lisfranc injury and is out for the season. This weekend, #4 RB Chris Thompson, back from a broken back last season and on pace to be the 1st 1,000 yard rusher at FSU since Warrick Dunn in 1996 blew out his ACL.
