Thanks, Santa. I got a Bengals calendar, a Bengals Mr. Potato Head and a DVD of the remake of True Grit. Love all of it.

Are we guessing yet?

Thanks, Santa. I got a movies factoid book and a Jonathan Winters mockumentary that I'm pretty sure is going to be funny as hell. He was one funny SOB and looking at the cast I can't see how it could disappoint. Thanks

My gift is scheduled to arrive at the recipient's on 12/24.

It just took me a long long time to get into the "holiday spirit" this year, and thus to find something and pull the trigger.

I just received my gift...Awesome!

It hit everything I like, and covers a lot of the places I have been. I have a hunch I know who it is right off the bat.

But I received:

Tampa Shot Glass
Denver Colorado Key Ring Bottle Opener
Los Angeles Dodgers Post Card
CA Bumper Sticker
The Little Black Book of Washington DC
Our Boys: A Perfect Season on the Plains with the Smith Center Redmen
The Brewing Bible
PC Game: Fallout Vegas

Going to install Fallout Vegas tonight and begin reading Our Boys...

Thanks Secret Santa!

My Secret Santa was awesome! We're taking a Spring Break trip to New Orleans (the wife and I are both teachers) and so Santa got me two GREAT looking books:

Spirit of New Orleans: Voodoo, Curses, Vampire Legends and Cities of the Dead

Taste of Treme (which is perfect for the foodie side of things)

Thanks a TON Santa, it was a welcome sight when I got home after a blow-out on the interstate in -4 degree weather.

Got my presents. One was pretty obvious what I wanted

The other was unexpected as it was a UCLA backpack. Is my fandom that obvious?

Appreciate it guys!

I knew who my Secret Santa was just from the syntax of the Elfster message they sent me and I chortled at the idea of their getting something from my wishlist if they went that route.

Much to my glee, a Lakers pillow and lunch bag arrived in the mail today. So awesome. Going to try out the pillow when I go to bed next, and I can't wait to use the lunch bag next semester in an attempt to eat better.

And I greatly enjoyed the personal message with the gift that not only confirmed what I surmised from the Elfster message syntax, but also gave me a giant laugh.

Thank you, Secret Santa, and I hope the pain has eased.

Well given that both our teams are in the doghouse this year, that helps.

I toyed with getting you a picture of Bird draining a shot over Magic or something btw . But figured practical was better.

I know some presents have arrived, but I think we can guess now.

I want to say thank you to PilotMan for his gifts, I laughed at a couple of them, but the brewing bible is big as I am looking at starting doing some home brews which I think I told you when we had some brews last time you were here.

Your welcome! I had you I think the first year we did this and I got you the Purdue Flag, I didn't want to go with sports stuff again and the only thing I could think of was your upcoming trip.

I hope you enjoy it, let me know how the Treme book is, it sounded amazing.

You're welcome. I was trying to get you some things that I knew you'd like but I also wanted to add my own unique twist too. So yes, the location specific stuff really came from those places while I was working. It was fun and I'm glad you liked it.

I'm guessing that mine was JPhillips just based on the address alone. Otherwise, I'd have been lost. I'm just glad you didn't send any Bengals crap.

Hey Jon- I hope you liked everything. I did some digging to make sure you were a Rutgers fan. Good luck to your guys today vs. Notre Dame (my most hated foe in all of college sports!).

Everything is great. We've used the glasses and I didn't have a copy of the Eric LeGrand book, so it is much appreciated. Thank you!

And thanks for the luck. I'm hoping for a competitive showing.

Sorry about the game today.

I was surprised about the LeGrand book because I was talking to another teacher about it and two of my football players chimed in that they had read it and thought it was really good and very inspirational. I figured if it got them to read it and, more importantly, enjoy reading it that it had to be a good book. Enjoy!
