So far in the 2.1.x patches we have: Fixes: *Depth chart will be fixed prior to starting a game if it has not been previously set. *Fixed a bug that caused certain boxes on the team schedule screen to not open when clicked *Re-enabled export to FTP option *Adjusted menu options so it isn't possible to exit a coached game on accident. *Fixed a bug that could cause error 91 when exiting the coach game screen if you entered the coached game from the hot seat screen using options other than "Coach Game" *Should no longer see a black blank section of screen when switching screens. Changes: *Added support for 15 team conferences with 16/18/20 game schedules *When loading a save the game should default to the last human team that was selected on the hotseat screen. |

I got another RT 91 error at the end of a game. I may have clicked Exit prior to it was fully ready. I don't think the player of the game had popped up yet. Not sure.

I picked up this game over the weekend and started up as the HC at Portland. I set the game to allow limited conference movement and after Season 1 Gonzaga tells us all to take a flying leap and moves to the WAC. We got Idaho. A state school. In the WCC. I don't think so.
With former WCC team Seattle U floating around as an independent, my question is this -- is there an easy way I can edit the game to swap Seattle U and Idaho? |

Officially angry at this game. Top 5 team all year with 2 first team all americans and I go out as a 2 seed in the second round of the NCAA when my team gives up 20 more points then averaged all year to a 10 seed.

Just finished my 5th season at Texas Southern, still have yet to win either the Conference Regular Season or the Tournament. We've made the Tournament finals 4 times, only to lose every time.
Now we lose this stat sheet stuffer... Code:

Progression of the hot seat seems more realistic when you have human coach firing off. Now after my 6th season at Texas Southern and failing to make the NCAA Tournament, which is the AD Goal, I have a 'Danger' rating. This is the first time I've seen this. It even says play in the NCAA Tournament or risk losing your job.
With firing on I'd be instantly canned from an average hot seat rating. |

Any chance to support a 17- or 18-team Big East?
And where does the game stand on the effect of school's academic ratings? |

A few very, very small remaining nitpicks:
1) The CONF TOURNEY tag is still greyed out until March 1, even if conference tournaments are already underway before then. 2) When choosing the dates of box scores to send to HTML, you can only go as far back as four days AFTER the season started, chopping off the first four days' worth of box scores in early November. 3) And just a display preference I have: in the original version, while looking at a box score within the game, the team name above the individual player stats would also feature the team's record at the time. Not a big deal by any means, but I've missed that on occasion. |

In the preseason tourney screen are they supposed to update as the tournament unfolds? I've checked those out to see how the tournaments are going and if I recall correctly only certain ones have been updating?

Thanks. I dumped Idaho and put Seattle U in the WCC where it belongs. I was having a breakthough season with the Pilots and then my super Soph SG crashed to the floor and went down for a full year. I am now faced with the choice of a medical redshirt for the following season, which I think I will take. It probably means another season trying to get to .500. But the following year, if I can just land that bigtime German center, I should have a shot at the conference title. So I tried to schedule the Zags for a nonconference game now that they are in the WAC. They told me that we weren't good enough to play them. What a joke. Their last game in the WCC was losing to us in the Conference Tourney, which kept their sorry backsides out of the NCAA tournament. Sour grapes, methinks. As you can tell, I'm really enjoying this game. Great work, HeavyReign! |

Has anyone ever had a player stay who was even thinking about the draft? I have 2 guys who would be second rounders who seem to me should be staying, one fresh and one soph, and I have a feeling they are gone.
Last year a guy left early and wasn't even drafted. He was on suspension all year so that may be why. |

My experience with early entry candidates is that while there is some level of unpredictability - some lottery candidates stay, some late 2nd round guys leave - for the most part, you should have a reasonable idea of who's going to stay and who's going to jump into the draft. |

It shouldn't be too hard to cover 17 or 18 team leagues. The only question really is what the intended schedule should be. The academics option would take some serious work so right now it isn't high on my list with the amount of time I have available. Quote:

I'm pretty sure you can do that already. Once you hit the schedule preseason tourneys button, you should be able to go to the History tab, click Pre Tourneys and the new fields for the upcoming season's tournaments should be listed. |

The draft portion of this game maddens me. I just had 3 guys leave school early. one went 26th, one 31st, and one undrafted. I also had the national player of the year on my roster, a PG who averaged 22 ppg, 5 RB and 6.5 ast. He went undrafted.

After reading this thread, getting interested in making the purchase. Quick question. Does this version include this year's tournament format where there will be 68 teams (I believe 4 play-in games)? If not, any chance it will be added?

Also, another quick question about tournaments. When you setup the game for the first time, it lists there is a 3rd and 4th tournament that can be added to the game. What real life tournaments do these represent? I know the first two are the NCAA and NIT, but not sure I have heard of a 3rd and 4th major tournment? Thanks.

Excellent news....after playing around with the demo, seems like a solid game. I did get a runtime 9 error at the end of the demo season. Basically I clicked on a date in the calendar on the hotseat screen that was later in the month that I didn't have access because it was a demo. Not sure if purely demo related or not. |

More questions....
Does anybody change the startup options in the game or do you leave them default? I am just trying to figure out what gives the most realistic college game experience. For example, is the default injury and academic settings fairly realistic or should they be changed? Should you allow conference prestige to change? Should you allow conference movements? etc. Also, one of the options asks how many lines of records you want to display. Default is to 10. Is there any downside to selecting 50? Does it take more time to process? Take up more hard drive space? etc. Just not sure why this kind of option just isn't on the stats screen itself like a web page were you can always page through data so I am thinking there must be some kind of ramification. I know a player can play multiple positions, but how do you know the ones they could play at by looking at their ratings? What do you look for to know a player can play C, etc. Thanks! I always have just the NCAA and NIT enabled, even though tournaments #3 and #4 were added IRL a few years ago. Transfers must redshirt in my setups (as is consistent with real life). Although players can declare after their freshman year IRL, I always change it to their junior year, ala the NFL.
Conference prestige change and conference movement I sometimes have on, sometimes have off. You can't have both on, from what I remember, though. If I do turn conference movement on, I make it Limited, because otherwise things just get too crazy. Usually I have movement off, though, because I can just manually update it to whatever I want.

In playing the latest version of the demo, just received another runtime 9 error using Alcorn State as my team. Set everything to sim to end of season, and a few seconds (after month changed to November when games start) and the error came up. It said it was in the function of "GetTeamSubs" if that helps. No save since it died and crashed right after.

Yes. I have received the runtime errors a different times with admin turned on as well as with it turned off. I think these are more logic issues than admin mode issues. I have seen the GetTeamSubs error again in admin mode using a different team. |

Gave the game some more time this weekend and I know I'm in the minority but I really wish I had my money back on this one.
The game is nothing more than searching through hundreds players in the hopes of finding the ones from the set of players who are destined to be on your roster. In my opinion a lot more needs to be done with this game having players show qualities that are important to them so that you know whether to pursue them or not. Otherwise you just waste all of your time and money on guys who you're just guessing on in the hopes they're good enough for you to get better but not good enough to go to too good of a school. Even bumping my coaching up to 300 points didn't seem to affect anything. Feel like I'm playing a guessing game and not a strategy game. |

Pick a team like North Carolina or Duke if you want a larger selection of players to choose from. I guess Im not sure what team you are but its not realistic for a lower prestige team to have a lot of different 3-4 star options. The reason this is one of my favorite games is because it is challenging. I wouldnt want him to change a thing.

My problems are the lack of consistency... When in-state players choose schools with 1/2 the prestige of your school and a non-major conference...fine with it as long as I know why...when your school is better in every way, your coach ratings are better, your staff ratings are lower, why do I lose the player? Same goes for losing such a player to an non-state school with your school being much better than the out of state school as well. When a player has no schools even on their list, you offer, and they choose a lesser school the very next turn...bad... There just seem to be so many random aspects with no way for the gamer to learn from why they gained a player or why they didn't. If I could see a personality for a player saying they want to play for a small school, I can adjust my strategy accordingly. If a player wants to go out of state, I can adjust accordingly. As it is, there's nothing there to gauge any of those extra pieces that are important in a game such as this. |

Well, if a guy is interested in your school (ie. above 'average' for interest), you can pretty much deduce this yourself. That's how I look at it anyway. My Northwestern State squad (located in LA) has 100 prestige, but it's not like every recruit in Louisiana has me at Very High. If there's a 5-star prospect in LA who has me as Average or worse, yet Very High for some LA or near LA school with worse prestige than mine, I can infer from that that the recruit is not as interested in prestige as he is in other factors. There's still a chance I can land him given my recruiting skill and budget however. Looking through the game over a long period of time, it's obvious to me that the recruiting system works well. Coaches with high recruit skills bring in good players, and most of the good players are going to good teams, with exceptions, just like real life.

I am finding a disturbing trend of getting the the tourny as a high seed and ridiculously under performing. We just shot 16% from the floor in the first half of a sweet 16 game.

How hard would it be to re-license FBCB (original)? This thread has gotten my interest rekindled. Can't find any order numbers or anything on my old hard drives, though.

Well, it does happen in real life too. The one thing I would like to address is for a little less weight to be given to bigs in the draft, and more given to PGs.
