Dola,
Oh I see: If the city with the cathedral is unfinished at game end, it is worth zero points. Guess I need to look a little more closely at the contents of the tiles... /tk

Ok, is there a way to turn off the turn notification sound? It was cool the first time, but it getting annoying now. I'm home today, but I can imaging being out at a customer site and that trumpet going off.

You can turn sound off for notifications in settings for your device. Once there, go to notifications, then Gamecenter then slide the sound to off.
I've done it for many apps/games. FM

I knew you had the longest train and I was just trying to complete my routes. That little cross between Santa Fe and OKC completed two long routes. Then I was worried you would beat me to run out of cars and I would be short, but my last two card play was enough. GG.

Band Boss is a pretty good game reminiscent of (I think?) Music Maven. You can't name songs or albums or use photos as artwork, but it's not bad for 99 cents. It's a little too easy, but it's pretty entertaining.

TK and I just picked up Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer and are currently learning how to play. Seems like a pretty good collectible card game port.

I too have enjoyed Ascension. Would love to play against some actual humans rather than just the AI.

I've got the iPad version, I also like the game (was just playing last night even). I've played a couple games online against strangers, it felt pretty similar to playing the AI. I don't remember seeing a way to chat in game or anything.

Nice game, BrianD.
One question for you guys with TTR. How do you get extra route cards? Do you just finish that route to get credit for them or pick them up along the way? |

Touch your stack of route cards in the bottom right and a stack will appear to the left. Touch it and it will ask you if you want to draw more routes. You draw three and must keep at least one.

Another stupid question.
How do I leave a Multiplayer game when it is not my turn? When I choose quit, I see the popup and I assume if I don't chose the Abandon Definitely option that I don't quit the game, but just leave it. I tried that earlier on a game with Frogman and the game disappeared on me. Is it just buggy right now? |

I think it's probably buggy cause I did the same thing in the past. But who cares if it's buggy at the moment because it's FREE right now! That's right if you wanna join in a play TTR on your iPhone with some FOFC people, the game is free for the moment... FM

For you guys playing ticket to ride do you play on the Ipad or Iphone? I have never played the game but generally find games popular with the text sim crowd right up my alley. Just wanted to know if the Iphone screen was large enough to enjoy this game or if it gets "too dumbed down" like other pocket versions of games that are too big for the Iphone.

I think the Iphone version is just fine. In fact I installed it on my Ipad as well instead of buying the version specific for the Ipad. Controls work fine on placing trains and drawing cards.

iPhone version is fine for me.
I still don't have any real feel for the strategy, though. And I think the notification system is a bit wonky. /tk

The iPhone version is REALLY small. The tickets are hard to read, but when you cycle through them they highlight the cities on the map, so you don't really have to read them. Otherwise, it's pretty awesome.

The iPhone version of TTR, complete with multiplayer, just went free. I now have both versions but prefer playing the larger iPad version. It seems odd that they'd give multiplayer to the iPhone first and not the iPad first or both at the same time.

I hope I remember to get TTR for the iPhone while it's still free. I have the iPad version. I'll create a gamecenter account and let you guys know what it is soon. I usually find myself pretty busy though and play a quick AI game or two before I stop and get back to other things.
Accension sounds interesting. I enjoyed the computer game of Magic the Gathering and got my brothers hooked on it for awhile. It'd be great to have something similar for the iPad. Ideally there'd be a deck building game where everyone has the same set to choose from so it really tests the strategy vs. who can buy more cards. |

Ticket To Ride not compatible with my 3G. Lame.
What's a good board game (or any other kind of game, I guess) where I can play a turn maybe 2-3 times per day, and not have the game feel disjointed? |

nah, I'm kinda holding off on Ascension. I've found that with many card collection/card playing games, I tend to get overwhelmed with who's good and/or useful and I tend to overnanalyse what to do with my cards. Because of that, I'm unsure if a game like that is for me and at $4.99, I'll wait to see if it drops in price a bit... FM

Fairway Solitaire is a pretty good rendition of the computer game by Big Fish Games. Available in separate versions for iPhone/iPod or iPad, it's a free download that I think comes with 20 something free holes but you can unlock the whole iPhone/iPod version for 99 cents and the iPad version for $2.99.

Assuming it's a stock stereo on an old car, probably not. If your car has BT through the stereo, then you can pair it and play that way. My dad does that all the time. I have an Aux In jack for my stock stereo. It's in the middle compartment between the two front seats of my car. I hook it my iPod that way, just plug into its headphone jack. Or you can get an aftermarket head unit with an aux in jack or an iPhone cable. So...maybe? /tk

This is what you need.
Amazon.com: Belkin TuneCast Auto Live: MP3 Players & Accessories Plugs into your headphone jack and then transmits on a unused FM channel. I have to use one since my car doesn't have an aux jack.

I forgot about those! You can get them all over, non-name brand, too, like at Radio Shack. The downside is that if you live in an urban area where the FM frequencies are jam-packed, you may have some issues getting a clean signal. I had issues where I live. If you get one of these, try to find one that uses the whole spectrum, not just the ends. You will have more choices for frequency selection then.. /tk

I've been playing ascension, but I fail to see the strategy other than buying the highest value cards and killing the highest value monsters. I don't have a good feel for what the other guy is building his deck with and how what I do can counteract it. Ideally this could be a collectible card game where the decks are built pregame from a series, and everyone has access to that series. That way you can have pride in what deck building strategy you used and how it stacks up to other decks... Darn. I want magic the Gathering.

Another option is a tape adapter, if you have a tape deck. I use that and find it to be better quality than an FM transmitter.
