All the wide open looks they've missed, and layups they've missed...they almost deserve to lose.

Nate's making shots - I don't think he should come out for the rest of the game frankly.

can this unit play the rest of the game?? it's like the announcer just said - they're not trying to force stuff or go to anyone specific...they're just playing the game and taking the open shots.

edit: don't look now, but Ray Allen might be heating back up

Going nuts about a foul call when you're up by 8 in the 4th is stupid beyond belief. Grow up, Sheed.

And the Refs want to be the story yet again.

God forbid someone show emotions. It's not like this is the NBA Finals or anything..

Tony Allen should be tied down and flogged everytime he takes a jumpshot.

I want to kill him each time. It seriously negates his value as a lockdown defender.

Big couple possesssions here. Kobe shoots to try to cut the lead. Celtics don't need to run 24 seconds off here, they need a good shot more importantly

Honestly, if you're the Celtics, do you go smaller at the start of game 5 and start Davis?

Nah. He's too valuable off the bench I think. I think if anything you maybe just increase the minutes you play the bench, as they all earned it. Nate is a total change-of-pace from Rondo, and he's absolutely fearless, and then you got your bulldog in Davis and your lockdown defender in Allen.

It's certainly an unexpected monkey wrench. Crowd just chanted "NO MEANS NO!" at Kobe. I'm just the messenger.

That is a little plus going into the rest of the series for the Celts and the old legs having the bench play just about the whole 4th quarter while the lakers played there starters.

Bynum also definitely seems the worse for wear.

Yes, good point. I will be shocked if they get anything out of him in the next game. The talking heads made a good point with Bynum starting and playing 30+ minutes Odom has to come in as astarter which is not a problem for him but Gasol moves to center which is more wear and tear and the Laker bench really misses Odom off the bench squad.

Agreed but for Bynum he's injured and the three days is not going fix that knee. If it does Lakers win next two with a healthy Bynum.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Bryant is now just 5-for-19 (26.6 percent) in the Finals with Tony Allen as the Celtics' primary defender on him. Even when he doesn't cause Bryant to miss a shot, he deters him from even taking one. In the 73 possessions that Allen has guarded him this series, Kobe has touched the ball 79.5 percent of the time. In the 234 possessions when it's been somebody other than Allen checking Kobe, Bryant has touched the ball 88 percent of the time.

All 19 shot attempts by Bryant against Allen have been with a hand in his face too, while he's been able to get off eight uncontested looks against the rest of the Celtics' crew.

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angele...ory?id=5274697

For all the boneheaded offensive plays Tony Allen makes, at least he is a ruthless defender. BBIQ may be lacking, but the tough as nails defense SOMEWHAT makes up for it. Pretty cools stats btw.

Probably because he has more credibility than the rest of the NBA officials. At least he admits he's a crook.

Reportedly Larry Drew will be named as the Hawks new head coach. He was the lead assistant to Mike Woodson for 6 years.

Not by choice. He's just looking to cash in and will say anything, I don't think he's the least bit credible.

Bench is showing up again for the Celtics, but I'd sure like Tony Allen to quit thinking he's Jordan and going 1 on 5.

Sell job by Artest for sure, but again Rondo shows why I can't stand him. Still bitter about last year's playoffs and the Hinrich bodyslam.

Blah.

Though hearing Van Gundy roast on Artest has been money.

Of course, Kobe got away with a few other plays that should have been fouls earlier in the game. Boston is just outplaying them.

Kobe was being matched by Pierce anyways though, so it's not like the Lakers were gaining any ground.

I hate this 2-3-2 format. If you are tied 2-2, the home team should have the luxury of playing game 5 at home. No excuse for this friggin format . . .
