My parents celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary today. Dang that's a long time.

Much like radio did to me, I'm pretty sure having me as a child ages people in dog years, so like 7:1.

I injured my right shoulder during sex. Have to control the grimaces, because I sure don't want to answer any questions at the office today ...

If a defensive player is offsides then gets held, doesn't it seem unfair to call that offseting penalties?

Well that didn't take long.

In other news, my staples were removed from my repaired incision today. Bigger news, the doctor said that I can shower again. The procedure to fix the incision was 11 days ago and I wasn't allowed to shower--even with a waterproof bandage--after. The doc was afraid of anything wet interfering with the healing, given that it had already opened a little (yay Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and a known sensitivity to the material they used to do the original closure).

You would think with a decently handsome father and an attractive mother that the kids would be somewhat good looking, right?

I bet there's at least a few people in this country who are going to DVR the election results on TV and then get pissed off when someone spoils the outcome.

I could swear there was about a one week window 20 something years ago where Chastity wasn't that bad. This was, of course, before she has a penis.

Is there like a Twitter guide for stupid people. I'm resisted, but I think I'm about ready to hop on the Twitter train. I don't really give a shit about using it to tweet, just the following.

I just don't know who to follow. Just... think about shit I like and... find related twitter..s... ?

Basically yes. Is there someone/something you have in mind that has you wanting to join up now? Once you follow a few people you'll start to get suggestions for more and you can easily build up a network of people to follow that talk about stuff you're interested in.

I use twitter primarily to follow e-sports. I added a couple of my favorite players and commentators and find new people to follow based on stuff that gets retweeted around and twitter recommendations, over time I've built up a much larger number of people that I follow to keep up with what I'm interested in.

Most of the best twitter accounts are parodies, such as Faux John Madden or Kim Kierkegaardashian.

It started last night because I had to work during the election coverage. I noticed on another forum somebody in the same boat asked for some people on twitter he could follow and I thought, " You know, that might not be a bad idea. " I can't really live on my phone at work, so it seemed like a nice way to get a quick look and feel for how it was going.

It was pretty nifty I thought.

I heard a kid outside, he couldn't have been older than 10, making fun of his friend and yelling, "Run Forrest Run!". OK, that's a dated reference even for adults, but that movie came out about 12 years before that kid was even born. What an iconic movie. I certainly wasn't quoting any movies from the late 60s when I was his age in the late 80s.

It irritates me when you send someone a gift and they don't have the grace to call and say that they received it and thank you for it. I have the tracking number that says the gifts made it to the house but haven't heard anything from the person in question.

Just rude. Not that I'm surprised by rudeness, given who the person is, but it's still annoying.

FWIW, my 14.5 y/o uses that line occasionally, and his peer group all get it without explanation. That's a little older than your example, but along the same line I think.

Probably some of them know "go ahead - make my day" too. They might even know some quotes from movies that date back as far as, oh, 1939. Some lines just make it into the lexicon.

I tried OOTP multiplayer in the FOBL, and within months the attempt had crashed & burned. I have just enough attention span for MP leagues to cover my team in the FOFL...I don't think I can handle two leagues simultaneously.
