Then jump on Path with me and we both hope that Lathum makes the right decision. I largely trust him - I would even more if he had not put a vote on Cronin that just screams "AMBUSH VOTE SWAP AT 8:59!" earlier. |

Swaggs, I'm not going to be here to switch votes over to you if you are worried about Cronin putting a vote on you. Don't know if that factors into your decision, but it is a fact.
OK, I'm out. Good luck to the Elementals the rest of the way. |

Hoops, do you have Swaggs beneath path and me on your distrust list? Is that the ranking?

I guess that kind of leaves me on hoops, if you two are on me if it isn't him. I won't be surprised if path and st cronin have played us.

No, and it's due to my own damn mistake. I was going to check back last night before deadline, but by the time I got home I was sicker than hell and went right to bed. I didn't put any orders in last night. However, the order I had was going to be a bodyguard on myself. Other than my failed day 1 scan on hoops, I had no other scanning power.

Well, it's pretty quiet. I'm not going to tie it up obviously, so there's only one way to vote:
VOTE HOOPSGUY I've wondered about him since day 1.

Another awfully quiet day, and you gather round to the altar, with the mighty fish of doom waiting. He belches loudly, still full from his last meal, and casts a gluttonous look at hoopsguy. Spinning around, he slaps hoops with his colossal fin, knocking him to the ground. Flying into the air, the Trout dive-bombs hoops, taking the pair straight through the earth and below ground, never to be seen again. There is, however, a nice new well pre-dug, though. hoops was an Elemental. Tasty Fish 1! Last edited by Coffee Warlord : 12-17-2007 at 10:05 PM. |

Allllllrighty. There exists no available power for use that will prevent the night kill tonight. Swaggs, in his ungodly luck, used his power of "may steal one power from a dead player" against SnDvls last night to gain a Duke power. There's no combination of available powers that can now prevent the Elementals from dying a horrible, painful death, and the mighty Avatars from taking their vengeance upon the world, thusly ruling! Elementals --- 1) Schmidty 2) Jonathan Ezarik 3) Passacaglia 4) Barkeep49 5) Mr. Wednesday 6) PurdueBrad 7) st. cronin 8) hoopsguy 9) Lathum 10) jeheinz72 11) SnDvls Avatars ------- 11) path12 12) claphasma 13) Swaggs Human Magus ----------- 14) saldana The 3rd and 4th factions: The trifecta of Schmidty, Passacaglia, and Swaggs, who did NOT know one another, had a secondary mission: To release the Old Gods from their prison, thusly attaining godhood themselves. Every night, they had the option to forgo the use of their regular power and summon the Old Gods. Saldana was a human mage sent to prevent this. As not enough points were generated to release the gods, Swaggs only achieved a minor personal victory. Clap and path, whose goal was also to prevent the release of the gods, attained a major victory by killing the Elementals and preventing the gods from getting out. Honestly, it was damn hard to figure out who the two bad guys were as three people just screamed bad guy down the stretch.

Basically, the last 2 nights destroyed ya'll.
MrW used his power to block hoops from using his action, which was to kill path. Path happily killed MrW. MrW ORIGINALLY was going to block Swaggs, and changed to hoops. Had he not, Swaggs would have been unable to steal the Duke power from SunnyD. The night before, hoops switched from protecting Schmidty to Lathum. The Avatars switched from killing Schmidty to Lathum and back to Schmidty. Hilarity ensued. |

The powers for the elementals, which were determined by 4 random rolls for each player. I altered some to prevent saturation of some powers.
1) May execute a night time kill. 2) May view the role of another player. 3) May alter the alignment of the stars to your suiting next phase. 4) May conjure the spirit of 1 player to answer 2 questions. 5) May shift reality to swap the location of 2 players. 6) May protect 1 player from ALL night affects. 7) May protect 1 player from attack. 8) May prevent 1 player from performing any night action. 9) If killed that night, may reincarnate with new powers. 10) May conjure an ethereal servant to do your dirty work. 11) May unleash elemental fury on any player during the day, replacing the lynch vote. 12) May watch all actions of 1 player during the night. 13) May randomly alter 1 power of another player. Possibility of removing power. 14) May save 1 player from lynching by whisking him away to saftey, nullifing any vote. 15) May swap ALL powers with 1 player, permanently. 16) May influence the mystic powers to add 1 additional vote to any player. 17) May learn in advance what tomorrow's sign will be. 18) May erase one random power from player. |

Well, I didn't "switch" - I just said that I thought Schmidty and Lathum both had value, but I thought Lathum would be more active in conversation down the stretch and I wanted him on my side.

Avatar powers. Amusingly, hoops would have scanned as an Avatar for the last 3 nights. Too bad noone scanned him.
-- Avatar of Fear - May prevent any player from using any power that night. - May learn the current powers of any player. - May remove 1 power from any player, permanently. - May execute night time kill. -- Avatar of Death - May infect another player with the plague, causing them to drop dead the FOLLOWING day. - May target one player, and randomly take one of their powers. - May target one DEAD player, and claim one of their powers as your own. - May execute night time kill. -- Avatar of Deceit - May alter the target of any player's power to be directed at another player. - May target 1 player to scan as an Avatar for 3 turns. - May target 1 player to scan as an Elemental for 3 turns. - May execute night time kill. |

Congrats to the bad guys for pulling off the win. I haven't been this angry at losing a game since the items game where Ardent trusted Coffee Warlord all game and EaglesFan27 teamed up with him down the stretch unopposed. It was there, we had it!!!

I think the game was lost, to a large extent, when I went with the flow on the Heinz vote instead of kicking and screaming about going after Path. I figured I would night kill the other one, so what was the difference?
Obviously, a big difference. Having three trusted players today against Swaggs, even if he had a Duke, would have put us in a good spot to finish this off. |

great game as usual CW...too bad St. C killed me off way to early as Swaggs was going down that night w/ my duke if the vote stayed on me. I think that could have really helped us there...oh well.

SnDvls, why announce in the thread that you are going to use a duke power instead of just using it? What do you feel like that gains?
I'm not asking this from a results perspective, I'm looking for a strategy discussion on it. |

Did I really? I was vacillating among a group of four that I was (correctly) convinced contained two avatars: hoops, cronin, Swaggs, and path12, but I didn't think I had ever indicated that I was going to go for Swaggs. I think I damn near did go for path12. Sorry, hoops, I was the one who blocked you, I'm surprised you nor anyone else considered that possibility. I had observed in-thread that it might turn the game because I figured there was at least some chance that I would block a kill if I were successful.

It worked as such.
You needed 9 points to pull it off. Each use of the power gained 1 point towards it, per person. Saldana's presence, as long as he lived, automatically reduced that by a point (can never go backwards, though). Had you pulled it off, the following would have happened. 1) Saldana instantly died, if he was still alive. 2) The 2 on the elemental side would have had their restrictions on power use lifted, and would have gotten a fresh set of powers from the list to replace any they had already used. 3) You would have lgained the ability to survive 2 kills instead of one, and every night you could flag any player as your quasi-slave. Nothing happened to them, they just got a notification that someone's presence had infected them, but your victory condition would have changed to "infect all remaining living players with your glory". By the way. The only other "power" Saldana had? He started off knowing the roles (though not exactly who his targets were) of every player. His goal was to bide his time, hope his targets would send out feelers trying to figure out who is who, and get them lynched. Pity Swaggs axed him day 1. Because I didn't trust you, I counted you among a group that were toss-ups. I trusted Lathum and JE, the latter of whom I don't think even participated today unfortunately.

Ah, OK. FWIW, my powers were used as such:
Night 1 I used the power to have hoops scan as Avatar for three nights. I was POSITIVE someone would have scanned him. Swaggs infected Saldana with the plague while Clap made the kill. Night 2 both Clap and Swaggs got some heat. I used the power to have Swaggs scan as Elemental for three nights. I believe Swaggs made the kill that night, while Clap stole a power from Schmidty, who had shown the ability to scan. The alteration of my power to direct one players action to another target was changed to have a Etheral Spirit do my work for one night. The spirit made the kill on night 3, while Swaggs got the power from SnDvls.

CW, if I hadn't blocked either hoops or path, would hoops' kill have gone through before path got to killing me?

wow...just wow....i dropped about a dozen hints about swaggs and he ends up winning the damn game
i am a little disenfranchised with WW after this game....it seems like the days of people actually reading and anaylzying posts are gone...everyone just went off on their own little tangents even though there was a ton of evidence staring them in the face, even well after i was dead. I realize i had the advantage of knowing who was whom, but hoops gets lynched despite the fact that two guys that never voted for the only dead avatar are still alive? wow |
