I'm timing 9 and 10 year olds in the 10 and 20 yard dashes, the pro agility, and the 4 corner drills.

I'm just trying to figure out who my fifth kid is going to be. I've got four skill kids...any of which could honestly be a feature back, so I'm looking to add a lineman with my last "protection" before the draft. Four kids stand out. I've offered the spot out to one boy, who hasn't decided if he's playing. The second choice has some hand damage of some sort and may not play. Choice 3's dad is all over the idea of playing for me and coaching with me. He's a coach from last season and a former high school coach. Choice 4 is new to football but I have a great feel that I can coach him up.

The best part is I don't have to offer any of the kids bonuses or find their parents a job.

I think I'm being dragged to see "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" tonight. It's got a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes and I'm not sure I really want to go, meh.

Did you ask them if any of their moms were prostitutes?

I don't normally ask that question, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.

I just want to make sure that Poli is fully vetting these potential players.

Had lunch today with Dennis Murren. And by "had lunch with", I mean, he was 3 tables down from where I was sitting.

Kid 1 isn't playing. Kid 2 is. Kid 3 is now being protected by another coach. Hoping kid 4 is open when we draft.

Well, as long as you are under the salary cap, try and give some performance bonuses and see if that will get them to sign.

But don't try signing him until he's 30, the league will just reject the deal.

For the 3rd day in a row, just as I'm getting ready to walk out the door, someone comes into my office with a "cannot wait til tomorrow" problem.

Whee.

So what you do is, find out when those people go on vacation. The last day at work before they leave to go on vacation, you give them something 'can not wait' until they get back.

Funny enough, I already feel guilty for how "early" I leave. I get into the office at 6:30/7, and normally end up working through lunch, so by the time 4 comes around, I've already put in 8.5-9.5 hours, and I'm ready to leave. But most of my coworkers don't get in until 9 or so, so they stay later, but it feels REALLY weird to walk out while everybody else is still hard at work.

For what it's worth, yesterday I ended up sticking around for 90 minutes getting crap done that, owing to a variety of reasons, still isn't done.

Interestingly enough, FOFC poster hawglaw had his birthday yesterday. Not only did we spend first grade together, but apparently he knows my cousin. Funny thing is, I didn't know she was my cousin until I saw her post on facebook.

DK, come find me on facebook, yo.

I work in a building owned by Aon, and whenver I go into the caf or common areas on Fridays, I see people wearing Manchester United jerseys with the Aon logo on them. Drives me batty. I'm tempted to wear my Newcastle jersey, but I'm guessing no one would know why.
