Free Agency:
Players in the last year, of importance: CB Roderick Hatcher S RJ Baxter OG Scott Lewis WR Mitch Waterman OT Mack Volz S Dean Dawkins P Bennie Bridges LB Raymond Donovan DT Al Wilson LB Benjamin Hampton OG Dwayne Schlereth S Harvey Roney We extend Bennie Bridges by a year. I need to clear up some cap room for re-upping some players and Grady High. I trade Raymond Donovan to the Saints for their 2nd round (30). I extend CB Roderick Hatcher by three years and OG Lewis Scott by the same. I trade OT Mack Volz to the Ravens for their 3rd (8) and next year’s 7th. I can’t keep an Ot on a pro contract unless he is really, really good, because they cost so much money. I extend Marvin Solymos by a year and drop his cap hit this year by 4 million. I look at the draft and I see an amazing QB prospect. Plus an amazing DT - 100 in everything. I want to get the 1/1 pick, so I can get my next franchise QB. I trade my 1st round picks in the next two years for the Panthers 1/1 this year and their 6 and 7 next year. I do not have the cash for both Grady High and the 1/1 dude. I release High from my Tag and he is free to sign with anyone. I trade DT Al Wilson to the Broncos for their 2, 6 and 7 in two years. I also trade LB Benjamin Hampton for next year’s 5th rounder from the 49ers. I wouldn’t have done this in another year, but I need the money. Alright, let’s head to the draft. I haven’t; made decisions on WR Waterman, S Dawkins and S Baxter yet, but I will.

The 2048 NFL Amateur Draft
We take: QB Lenny Sampson, QB from Nebraska: Stats: 54/100 54/100 54/100 37/68 54/100 98 39/72 54/100 71 100 The consistent stats in four categories is suspicious., but he is worth the risk My needs: QB, RB, TE, WRx2, OG, OT, DEx3, DTx2, LBx3, CBx2, S (starter quality only, perhaps) At the 1/21 slot, I look around. The best player is WR Floyd Middleton. I could draft Middleton and trade Mitch. Two studly WRs would help a rookie QB get caught up. I would take a stud OT, but there aren’t any. I need a DE starter, but none shout “Draft me at 1/21”. There are a pair of LB I could draft my third starter. I trade WR Mitch Waterman to the Rattlesnakes for their 2nd rounder in 2050. I draft Middleton. One of my LB is still there at 1/34, so that draft pick is automatic. 1/1 - QB Lenny Sampson, Nebraska, 5.5/8.2 1/21 - WR Floyd Middleton, Eastern Washington, 4.0/7.5 1/34 - LB Gene Rivas, Washington, 4.7/6.2 2/30 - DE Mitch Beyer, Washington State, 3.9/4.8 2/34 - OG Rico Johnson, East Carolina, 3.0/4.8 3/8 - DE Mo Stokes, Purdue, 2.0/5.6 3/11 - WR Percy Stevenson, Florida, 2.8/5.9 3/14 - LB Sean Powell, Oregon State, 3.5/5.1 3/17 - DT Bo Casher, Cal-Northridge, 2.7/3.6 3/34 - CB Eugene Houston, Oklahoma State, 2.2/3.2 4/34 - TE Alfred Swann, Kansas, 3.3/4.8 5/17 - FB Graham Harden, Iowa State, 3.2/5.0 5/34 - WR Marshall Manning, Cal, 2.6/2.7 6/4 - RB Stanley Crouse, Florida, 2.0/2.8 6/11 - LB Brad Wing, Michigan State, 2.0/3.1 6/34 - OT Rob Danskin, VPI, 2.0/2.8 7/11 - CB Winfred Brennan, Clemson, 2.0/2.4 7/14 - DT George Shipes, Oregon, 2.0/3.0 7/34 - QB Sherman Stuart, Furman, 2.0/2.6 Brennan will be a KR/PR I sign UFA WR Kenneth Preston, Iowa State DE Clarence Abercrombe, Alabama St

The 2048 Huntington Highlanders
QB Lenny Sampson - The keys have been turned over RB Albert Hall - I want to see him bounce back from a sub-par season last year FB Ryan Garth - There is no where to go from last year but down TE Maurice Sporzynski - Meh WR Donald Hightower - If he can just keep it up WR Floyd Middleton - A very strong rookie, plus our PR this season OT Colin Hampton - This is the first time I can recall having 4 out of 5 O Line with All Pro status OG Calvin McWilliams - He has proved to be very good for my team C Harvey Stone - After two great years, does Stone have another level? OG Lewis Scott - Very good indeed OT Rickey Forbes - Now starting due to cost and skills on paper. Can practice turn to production? P Bennie Bridges - Always saucy K Darrin Maloney - Yet another All Pro, and you love him to death DE Mo Stokes - A green run stopping specialist. He was not meant to start. Will he suck? DT Marvin Solymos - He certainly won’t DT Alonzo Dasilva - The best DT to start alongside Solymos in quite some time, but still green DE John Cook - Only had an adequate debut, but has a chance to really do something WLB Geoff Drake - The worst of my three LB in tackling, but very good at coverage. MLB Joseph James - This is where he will be for a long time SLB Geoff Rivas - The rookie has a 100 potential run blocking, but weaker pass coverage CB Roderick Hatcher - More good years, now with a professional contract CB Quinn Vasilatos - He had a weak season as the starter last year, and needs to come back S RJ Baxter - Still more meh than amazing. S Dean Dawkins - Contract extended so long he may retire a Highlander KR/PR CB Winfred Brennan, S Harvey Roney I make one adjustment to my roster. I cut DE Mitch Beyer the bust. I sign DE Johnnie Rodriguez. Johnnie was a UFA for us two years ago, and last year spent some time as a backup for Richmond. Now that he’s developed, I expect using him as our main backup for the year.

A news e-zine asked me to name my three favorite teams of all time. Of all of the teams I’ve had, which three features my favorite group of players. Here was my answer:
My favorite roster of all time is definitely the 2015 Albuquerque Rail Runners. It has everybody I loved from that dynasty on one roster. Let’s check it out. The 2015 Albuquerque Rail Runners QB Tony Clements - He’s a man RB Heath Shepherd - And so is he FB Warren Dole - Adequate TE Ed Gardener - Rocktastic WR Johnny Baker - Solid WR Donald Wagner - Solid C Monty Brennan - I want to see another good season out of him. OG Orlando Wells OG Scott Pintsak - Let’s get better OT Lenny Perry - Starting to look good, will his stats follow OT Kevin Hargrave - We’ll start him, he’s okay P Steve Washington K Olindo Mare DE Andrew Kadanoff - Come one, let’s step it up. DE Scottie Watt - He’ll start this year instead o Gaines DT Ross Meadows - Always fun to speak his name DT Roosevelt Wilber LB Monty Joseph - Adequately alright LB Blake Crawford - Okay too LB Quinn Burroughs - A strong LB, could be amazing CB Leon Morabito - Awesome CB Jimmie Rebensdorf - Also awesome S Eric Carlson - Also strong S Travis Westbrook - Also strong Quinn Burroughs and Jimmie Rebensdorf were rookies that year. Of that group, which ones were in the HOF? Ross Meadows, Quinn Burroughs, Leon Morabito, Eric Carlson, Ed Gardener, Tony Clements, Olindo Mare, Travis Westbrook, Heath Shepherd, Monty Brennan, Donald Wagner and Johnny Baker! That’s 11 starters and a kicker! That is a huge collection of talent on one roster. The went 13-3 and won the Super Bowl. And that’s just HOF. Orlando Wells was an All Pro a bunch of times, Jimmie Rebensdorf would be as well, and I think I recall Kadanoff being one once too. My second favorite roster of all time is my recent undefeated season in 2040. The 2040 Huntington Highlanders QB Grady High - YAY! RB Jake Duffy - YAY! FB Courtney Pierce - Who cares? TE Rick Rivers - YAY! WR Jerry Platt - We have got to get more from you this season, or you are getting traded. WR Roosevelt Beverly - I have high hopes for ya. C Archie Galloway - Let’s start him now! OG Kim Fisk - And him too! OG Steve Coffey - He is almost developed already OT Will Poston - A fixture OT Roosevelt Morin - One All Pro already, can more follow soon behind? K Darrin Maloney - Great, but needs to kick like it P Bennie Bridges - More green than I thought when I drafted. The beginning of the Bridges era, DE Don Covington - Can he reclaim 12+ sacks annually? DE Sam Walden - Had a lousy rookie year, but almost fully developed. Has to improve, right? DT Marvin Solymos - I really like him, btw DT Ian Agrawell - Just a pass rush specialist LB Anthony McKnight - The Martinez era is over LB Vincent Newsome - Green but good SLB potential LB Jason Northcutt - A solid enough WLB CB Jim Ackerman - He is a man CB Bob Pearson - Boomed a bit in camp after getting pro contract. S Dean Dawkins - Another great year please. Thanks. S Clyde Del Greco - Barely, and I mean barely, edged out rookie S Dominic Gaylor, who is just too green. KR/PR - CB Dwight Stevenson, WR Hunter Carlisle It’s still too early to tell about the destination of many of these players. Grady High, Jake Duffy, Darrin Maloney and Rick Rivers will certainly be in the HOF. Jim Ackerman is. Pearson and Dawkins probably will be. Ian Agrawell has had four consecutive All Pro seasons with Dallas, and needs a few more for a shot. Both Jerry Platt and Roosevelt Beverly have had All Pro seasons. So has Will Poston and Bridges and Solymos. The one bad thing about this year is that I had just let go of a HOF guy the previous year (the one who I can’t tell you who it is yet, no spoilers). It’s also a bit early for many of these, but this is one of my epic rosters, due to its 16-0, and 3-0 in post-season play. Number 3: The 2028 Huntington Highlanders: Your 2028 Huntington Highlanders QB Ernest Mayes - Fresh off the Quadfecta RB Grady Pender - Starting to get a little long in the tooth. FB Tracy Kramer - Now fully developed TE Brant Carman - Off his 1st All Pro season WR Kenny Marshall - Off his 2nd WR Eugene Jonas - Rookie is pretty developed C Steven Marshall - Will start again this year OG Bruce Holliday - 3 All Pros in 4 years. Our most consistent O Lineman OG Neil Lee - Jumped over Thomas Cobb in the competition for a starter OT Roger Fisher - Very developed, but not that great or anything OT Derrick Collier - Patch P Leo Rayburn - Awesome K Christian Huffman - Awesome DE Bert Curtain - Please get back to your 9-10 sacks/year. DE Floyd Gardner - BAP draft two years ago and now starting. You are never upset with a BAP pick DT Joey Springer - Has developed very well. DT Raymond Stargell - Very good for a 3rd rounder, looks like a late 1st LB Quinn Burroughs - Final year with the team as he would not re up for us LB Jeff Grier - Signed him to a small professional contract but is just a patch. LB Sedrick Rhinehart - Will start and decently developed already CB Mercury Greene - Ennhhh CB Jim Ackerman - Has the potential to be Leon Morabito. S Troy Gracia - He’s pretty solid S Derek Long - Run stopping specialist with solid pass coverage skills. PR will be Eugene Jonas and KR will be CB Winston Snyder with help from Jonas This team went 14-2 but lost to the 13-3 Vikings in the Super Bowl, but it has a huge collection of talent. This is Jim Ackerman and Derek Long’s first year and Quinn Burroughs last. Both corners are HOF corners. Derek Long is in the team HOF but not Canton. Quinn Burroughs was a HOF player fresh off another All Pro season with my new team. Mayes, Pender, Carman, Kramer and Marshall were all top notch talent ballers. Of those, Mayes was a record setting QB, Pender and Carman HOFers, Marshall had a few All pros and Kramer would have 6. Bruce Holliday was a fixture for years with All Pros. The DE tandem of Curtain and Gardner is my favorite in my 47 year history as a GM. Curtain was a HOF player. K Christian Huffman is HOF as well. At the end of the this season, Burroughs would get his final All Pro and retire. Total number of HOF - 8 Team HOF - 1 All Pros - 6 additional ones This was definitely a fun year.

The 2048 Huntington Highlanders
Week 1 - Washington Week 2 - Dallas Week 3 - BALTIMORE Week 4 - Jacksonville Week 5 - CINCINNATI Week 6 - PITTSBURGH Week 7 - BYE Week 8 - JACKSONVILLE Week 9 - Cincinnati Week 10 - KANSAS CITY Week 11 - Pittsburgh Week 12 - Baltimore Week 13 - PHILADELPHIA Week 14 - Tennessee Week 15 - San Antonio Week 16 - BUFFALO Week 17 - TENNESSEE We finish the preseason an anemic 1-3. This is a good year for a rookie QB to learn the team - Albert Hall as the RB, a great WR tandem, a star FB, a very strong O Line, the best kicking game, and a good secondary and LB corps to stop the opponent from doing too much. Let’s see how well Lenny Sampson will do in the limelight. Before we begin, I extend RB Albert Hall by two years, and reduce his cap hit by a few million over that time. Hall is questionable, but I’ll start him week 1. OT Colin Hampton is injured as well. Backup QB Ian Sawyer has a Hip Pointer and can’t play for a few weeks without risk of exacerbating the injury. S Harvey Roney is rocking a sprained neck.

Week 1 - Opening with Washington is tough for a rookie QB. They’ve been in the playoffs several times over the last few years and won the Super Bowl just three years ago However ,we manage to defeat them with a 40-25 victory. S Dean Dawkins is the Game MVP and NFL Defensive Player of the Week with 2 picks and one returned for a score. Roderick Hatcher also had a pick and score. Here was Mr. Sampson in his first game for us - 19 of 40, 240, 2:3, 2 sacks,1 rush TD. HE hit my TE Sporzynski and Hightower for scores. In fact, Sporzynski had his first 100 yard day ever - 5 for 112. A good beginning to the year. Now we take on one of he best teams in the NFC.
Week 2 - We face the tough Cowboys, and no one is surprised when we come up losers 10-21. Dawkins had another 2 picks. Solymos grabbed two sacks. Not a good day for Sampson and his 0:3 ratio. Hall had our sole rushing TD. Week 3 - Back to our winning ways with Baltimore falling before us 44-10. Game MVP and NFL Offensive Player of he Week QB Lenny Sampson - 21 of 29, 353 yards and 4:0 ratio. Holy crap! WR Donald Hightower had 9, 144 and 2 scores. Floyd Middleton came down with the other two scores - the rookie to rookie connection! Dean Dawkins with his 5th pick. Another rushing score by Hall. A few players are banged to probable, but they’ll start for us. Week 4 - We declaw the Jaguars 27-7. Game MVP and NFL OPotW is Albert Hall with 28 caries, 208 yards and 2 scores. Sporzynski catches the lone aerial score. Dawkins with his SIXTH pick in four games. Colin Hampton already has 10 KRB. DT Solymos is injured a bit but will start next week anyway against the 4-0 and Super Bowl Champion Bengals.

Week 5 - This is a tough challenge. Well, the good news is that we manage to defeat the Bengals 24-17. Game MVP is Albert Hall with a rush TD. Sampson hit Hightower three times for 103 yards and a score. Lewis Scott is doubtful with a broken finger and I deactivate him. Starting at OG will be Dwayne Schlereth
Week 6 - Another tough challenge, in the battle of one loss teams with Pittsburgh, and this time, we do not win. 19-23. Pick by Hatcher. Hall added a score on the ground. Maloney went 4 for 4. A good time for our Bye next week. The Steelers, Bengals, Cowboys and Redskins was a rough start. (3 of the teams to win a SB in the last five years) I’m happy we went 4-2 with the rookie Sampson under the helm. Week 7 - BYE. Healing is good. Week 8 - The one win Jags fall to us 47-17. FB Garth had two rush TD, Hall had one, and Sampson had a 2:0 day with Middleton getting TD 3 and 4. Dawkins rocks his 7th pick, and Baxter and Vasilatos each get one too. Stone already has 20 KRB. We have two major injuries. Backup C Chad Briggs is out with a broken jaw. WR Dale Tate is out with broken ribs. I toss both on IR. I sign: C Fred Bajorak as a patch backup and WR Moe Austin. OG Scott is still questionable. I put Austin in the 3 spot again, since I have a rookie QB and I can give him a vet in the receiving corps. Week 9 - We defeat the Bengals again in OT 27-24. Marvin Solymos is doubtful with an injured shoulder and benched. Rookie DT Bo Casher will start in his place until his return. Game MVP is Maloney who was 2 of 2 and kicked the 59 yard GW FG. Pick and ret TD by Hatcher. Rush TD by Ryan Garth. Hightower caught a score too. OG Scott returns next week.

Week 10 - The Chiefs fall 36-7. Hall is the Game MVP with 29 carries, 115 yards and 3 scores. CB Vasilatos gets another pick. WR Floyd Middleton got a PR RET TD. S Roney is doubtful again. I bench him. Middleton and CB Brennan are stepping in for his KR/PR duties.
Week 11 - We lose to Pittsburgh and both teams are 7-3, and Pittsburgh has the tie breaker because they swept us. 24-27. MLB Joseph James had 17 tackles and 2 assists. Baxter and Vasilatos each had a pick. Moe Austin and Albert Hall caught scores. Week 12 - Game MVP and NFL DpotW RJ Baxter has 8 tackles, 2 picks, and a RET TD in our 24-10 victory over Baltimore. Calvin McWilliams rocks 7 KRB this week. LB Geoff Drake notches a pair of sacks. Moe Austin caught another TD. Hall had over 100 yards rushing but no scores. Garth had his 4th TD of the year though. Week 13 - With a score of 30-7 over the Eagles, and with Pittsburgh losing, we are one game in front. Maloney was 5 for 5. Hightower had 5 catches for 163 yards, but went scoreless. Lenny Sampson was 17 for 26, 306 and 1 to Moe Austin. Hall got over 1000 rushing yards and had his 11 rush TD. DE Cook grabbed 2 sacks. Both of my starting safeties, Dawkins and Baxter, grabbed picks. C Stone notched his 30th KRB of the season.

Week 14 - Tennessee falls 27-6 and the Steelers lose again. Game MVP is Sampson with 25 for 31, 278 and 2:0. He hit Middleton and Austin. Albert Hall had 20 carries, 136 yards and a score. Two more sacks from DE John Cook. Nickelback Eugene Houston gets a pick. Solymos will return next week.
Week 15 - 20-10 over the three win Lone Stars. CB Roderick Hatcher is Game Mvp and NFL DPotW with 2 picks and a RET TD. Dawkins has his 9th pick. Hall had 29 carries, 151 yards and no scores. A lot of minor injuries have been fixing themselves, so we are looking good for the playoffs. Week 16 - 47-3 over the 4 win Bills. We are clearly in the creampuff part of the schedule. Maloney was 4 for 4. Game MVP is QB Sampson with 17 for 25, 216 and 2:0 ratio. Hall had a rush TD, his 14th. Hightower and Middleton each had TD grabs. Backup S Jorge Galvan got a pick. OG McWilliams with his 30th KRB. CB Quinn Vasilatos is doubtful with a broken foot. I bench him and will start Eugene Houston the next game. Week 17 - The good news is that we crush the Titans 40-7. The bad news is that TE Maurice Sporzynski is out very long term with shoulder surgery. I IR him, and his stats have fallen. He won’t be starting for me next year. We have coverage on the team - Alfred Swann. Game MVP is Sampson with 12 of 18, 204, and 3 scores. Maloney knocks in 4 of 4. After being activated last week to cover for Quinn‘s injury as the dimeback, CB Randal Blackwell grabs a pick. Moe Austin caught two scores and Hightower got his 7th. Hall rushed for his 15h TD on the season. 13-3 for the season and the #2 seed behind the 14-2 Colts.

Team Stats:
8th most rush yards, middle of the road passing, 4th most yards per pass 4th fewest rush yards allowed, 6th fewest pass +18 TO Margin, +17 sack margin (46 v 29) A good year statistically. I had a very strong roster, and was able to absorb the rookie QB hit and still manage. Individual Stats QB Lenny Sampson, 260 of 421, 61.7%, 3473 yards, 23:10, 28 sacks, 96.1 Rating, 1 rush, TD, 4 fum and 1 rec It started much worse, but Lenny had a great second half of the season and really learned on the job. For a rookie QB, this is a great statline. He wasn’t sacked as much as I feared, and he didn’t fumble a lot either. At first, his ratio was this: 5:8, but he settled down and only threw two more picks against 18 scores later. RB Albert Hall, 351, 1519 yards, 4.3 avg, 15 TDs, 53 grabs, 600 yards, 2 scores, 5 fum and 1 rec Another great year from the man. He was a safety valve for a QB learning as he went and a decent enough runner. His ypc dropped from 4.7 to 4.3, and I suspect that may be in part because defenses keyed off him rather than the passing game. WR Donald Hightower, 55, 817, 7 WR Floyd Middleton, 53, 725, 6, 1 PR RET TD, 4th best PR Avg among qualifiers, 1 fumble WR Moe Austin, 31, 308, 6 (3rd receiver for 9 games) TE Maurice Sporzynski, 35, 557, 4 scores, 7 KRB, no sacks allowed I thought Maurice’s statline was close to All Pro, so let me check out who got it for the TE position. The All Pro #1 guy had 4 scores, 628 yards, and 7 KRB. That’s better by yards, so he should get it, I agree. The 2nd team guy had 520 yards, 6 scores, 6 KRB. So Maurice was right in there. I agree that he shouldn’t have gotten the nod. You have to expect these to be down for a year or two. Eventually Sampson will be at the 4400 yards and 32 TD level and these guys will see their production rise accordingly. K Darrin Maloney, 41 of 46, long of 59, 49 off 49 P Bennie Bridges, the best PR Avg in the league With a great returning year by Middleton, another amazing year for Maloney, and Bridges punting to form, I remain happy with my special teams. DE John Cook, 13 sacks, 1 block, 10 hurries, (tied for 5th most QB hurries in league), tied with 2 people for 10th most sacks Hello John Cook. In a year in which Solymos was injured, Cook stepped admirably into the Sack Master role. LB Joseph James, 98 tackles, 30 assist, 3 sacks, 1 blk, 2 hur, 3 pasdef, 1 fumrec LB Gene Rivas, 70 tack , 16 assist LB Geoff Drake, 55 tack, 22 assist, 6 sacks, 1 blk, 2 hur, 7 pasdef Hello good LB Corps. They are about to take over my defense in a year or two. You can feel it. S Dean Dawkins, 9 picks, 1 ret TD, 10 pasdef S RJ Baxter, 74 tackles, 15 assist, 5 picks, 1 ret TD, 11 pasdef CB Roderick Hatcher, 5 picks, 3 ret TD, 6 pasdef Good years by all of my professional secondary, but Quinn Vasilatos, it’s time to move on. C Harvey Stone, 39 KRB, 6 sacks allowed OG Calvin McWilliams, 30 and 6 OT Colin Hampton, 27 and 4 OT Rickey Forbes, 19 and 5 FB Ryan Garth, 9 KRB, 110 rushes for 343 yards, 4 scores, 12 catches for 132 yards. Harvey Stone will likely be a fixture at C for me. McWilliams is proving himself. A down year for Scott and Hampton was close but not close enough. The Forbes start was a disappointment.

Team Awards:
Offensive Player of the Year: C Harvey Stone, In three years has 105 KRB and 13 sacks allowed. Two All Pros and came close his rookie year. He has been playing at a very high level, and it’s time to acknowledge that this 1(35) pick from Kansas State will be in the running for Next Player ot Sign a Professional Contract. Right now, it’s very early, but his career stats are on a HOF parabola, which is very rare for O Lineman to get . You really need 500 to insure it. That’s 100 every three years. Exactly his rate right now. Marty Brennan’s 515 is the career best. He played 15 years, and his pace averaged 103 every three years, and Stone is right there. I need a few 40+ years to make up for the eventual 20s we’ll get much later, but right now, you have to be pleased with Stone. Defensive Player of the Year: DE John Cook. I love it when a player comes from out of the dark to become a force. Last year Cook started all 16 games and had only 6 sacks. This year he more than doubled his number and looks to be a force next year. He took a position of weakness and turned it into a strength. Special Teams Player of the Year: WR Floyd Middleton , I’ve given lots of awards to Maloney and Bridges, and they both deserve it against his year, so instead, I’ll audible into a great returning year by Middleton. 4th best PR Avg? A TD and a low number of fumbles? That’s consistent and high quality. Rookie of the Year: QB Lenny Sampson, This is not an automatic award, but Sampson totally deserved this. He outplayed my expectations, helmed a 13-3 regular season, and displayed a lot of maturity in setting aside the first few ugly games and focusing on the rest. He’ll be a great one. Heart Award: WR Moe Austin, After being let go two years ago following a 1000 yard season, I brought back Austin twice after injuries to receivers in the middle of the season, and both times he’s done very well. I honestly feel that he’s been my good TE in quality, as a target for possession and reliability. He’s had 12 TDs and 778 yards as the 3rd receiver for 8 and 9 games in the last two seasons. Good job Moe! (To be fair, I’ve had to pay him 7 mill last year and 9 mill this one - he got his money) Records: Grady High added 13 more Tds to his career total 443. Marvin Graham’s three career stats that led all receiver lost out to two new guys - one with more receptions and another with more yards. His three season records still stand - 2008’s 142, 2112, 16. This year, Grady High moved into 2n place for most passing yards in a career, and one of only thee with 60k or more.

LB Joseph Martinez, Fresno State, 15 years, 227 starts, 1159 tackles, 412 assists, 52 sacks, 3 All Pro Another of my guys getting in! This is the one I mentioned earlier this season. I had just traded Joe before the season that I had my 19-0 team in Huntington. Another of my players is in our Team HOF and will be Canton-bound. I have two coming, one this year and one from last year. Retirees: None from my team TE Rick Rivers OG Steve Coffey My Head Coach’s skills have deteriorated, and considering how much I am paying, I want a new one. Here is my guy: Very Good - D Line, DB, Discipline, Y Talent, Off PC, Def PC - 6 Good - QB, WR, O Line, Av Inj - 4 Fair - RB, LB, K, Motivation - 4 He used to have a few excellent in there. He’s 65 and it looks like the beginning of a slide. Let’s see if I can find a better guy. Here’s one: Bob Dennison Excellent - WR, Y Talent, Motivation, Av Inj Very Good - K, O Line, Discipline Good - Off PC, D Line, DB, QB Fair - Def PC, RB, LB He’s also 52 I have to pay a bit more for him to fight off other teams that want him, but for 30 mill a year, he’s my new HC. Our old guy gets hired by Baltimore for a pay raise. Hey, I love a guy with Excellent Injury Avoidance. I raise ticket prices, no franchise tag.

Players of Import in their Last Year: OT Colin Hampton OG Calvin McWilliams C Harvey Stone S RJ Baxter FB Ryan Garth TE Maurice Sporzynski OT Rickey Forbes CB Quinn Vasilatos K Darrin Maloney P Bennie Bridges DT Alonzo Dasilva And a bunch of dudes One year more for Darrin and Bennie. Extension for Colin Hampton of three years. He has never cost me a full OT salary which is 25 mill ish a year, so I’m happy to keep him. After our agreement, he’s 16.16 mill this year. I also extend FB Ryan Garth by a year. Two year extension for Calvin McWilliams. Harvey Stone doesn’t want a long term deal right now. I trade CB Quinn Vasilatos and my 5(33) to the Broncos for their 1st (31). TE Sporzynski was traded to the Eagles for their 5th rounder next year. I like DT Alonzo Dasilva, but he is demanding a trade. So…The Rams give me their 5th next year for him. It’s time to move on from RJ Baxter, but I want to wait and see if I find a replacement first. I also have a question mark over OT and Rickey Forbes. I don’t have another option right now. Post-draft, or during-draft, I can look to move them, but not right now. Time to draft!

The 2049 NFL Amateur Draft
I need: TE, RBx2, C, OG, OT, DEx2, DT, CBx2, Sx2 Of that group, I need starters in: TE, OT, DE, CB and hopefully S I have 38 players on my roster, 80 mill cap room and 11 draft picks. That should basically round out my roster. If I can, a good back QB and WR would be nice. That’s a luxury though. I need 13 players and have 11 picks. Basic math should rule here. Remember, if I trade my OT and S, I’ll need an extra of each in the draft. I’m looking at the draft, and I see my guy - TE Lincoln Woodson, the next big TE. I want him. I have no idea how highly he’ll be taken, but I want him. There’s another great QB at Sampson’s level, a virtually perfect FB, a few really great RB (but not NFL MVP level ones), there aren’t any massively great CB or S in here. Several great Lbs, a few great DE but no truly amazing ones (the best is 75, 73, 76), a truly strong OT (84, 88, 76), pure crap in the OG, C, CB, S and WR worlds. And my TE. Woodson is the 3rd highest rated player in the draft by future rating, and 10th by current. He will get picked up before my pick at 1/31. The Bears are offering the 1/5 and some chump C for Roderick Hatcher. Basically, I could trade Hatcher for Lincoln Woodson. That’s very tempting. Here is Hatcher’s statline: 78 starts - 26 picks, 34 pasdef, 7 int ret td, 1 All Pro year his rookie year, in 2044. He’s not Leon Morabito or Jim Ackerman. However, he’s the only developed corner I have. On the other hand, I find great corners more than I find great TEs. How many good Corners have I let go through the years? Mercury Greene, Jimmie Rebensdorf, Jimmy Ordona, Jack Huntley, Rufus McGowan, Jesse Pirtle…the list goes on. The problem is that this is not a good year for corners. It may be tough to find some. I also already made a hole at CB with the trade of Quinn. Let’s do it. I trade Roderick Hatcher to the Bears for their 1/5 and C Jonathan Taylor, a 7th year C with a low cap hit who will be my backup. Now I can get my guy for sure. Even if Woodson goes 1-4, which is doubtful for a TE, I can take the OT or somebody else of high quality. Hell, if they are both gone, maybe I’ll take the amazing LB and move to a 3-4. The draft has begun. Austin trades their pick to San Antonio. They take the stud QB, Don Stokes, of The Citadel fame. The next three picks are RB, DT, and RB. I take Lincoln. The 1/31 pick arrives and I’m confused. In my opinion, the best RB in the draft is still on the board. Kerry Tasker, of Illinois. Here are his pots: 85, 92, 78, 89, 54, 63, 72, 81, 57. The low numbers are catching, and the last is endurance. He is an All Pro level quality RB. That’s my BAP draft pick, if I wanted competition for Albert Hall. WR Rusty Craig was the best one in the draft, and he’s still there. For my roster, the best player is probably S Donald Woods, with his 95, 41, 100, 94 and 71 endurance. The low 41 man-to-man suggests we play a lot of zone, but he’s clear value. CB Norman Nixon is good enough to draft and start comfortably. DE Emmanuel Fickell is adequate as well. Of this lot, probably none will be around for the 2/4 pick. Fickell is the best DE on the board, Craig the best WR, Tasker the best RB and Woods the best S and Nixon the 2nd best CB. One possibility is to trade Albert Hall for a ton of stuff and draft and start Tasker. It’s ballsy. He is clearly the best player on the board. If I take anyone else, I am not getting the full value of the pick. Or, I could just draft Tasker as a backup RB and then trade when I need to later. To be fair, Albert Hall is 30. How many more years does he have at the top? 4? 5? It would be the smart decision. Albert’s stats: 70 68 84 87 61 85 66 34 72 Tasker is 15 better at breakaway speed, potentially significantly better at short yardage, 6 worse at 3rd down, 2 better at ypc, 7 worse catching, 22 worse catch frequency, 6 better 3rd down catching, 47 more carrying, and 15 worse endurance. Overall Tasker is faster and more of a pounder with better hands, won’t be out there as much, and not as good of a receiver. Tasker is the better player. He is an upgrade over Hall. This is one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make in a long time. Tasker is All Pro quality and great. S Woods is a starter for me, CB Nixon need, DE Fickell need, and WR Craig is strong, but the least attractive. To my mind, this is down to Tasker vs. Nixon. Sigh. I take Tasker. The next pick arrives and surprise. Nixon is still on the board (as is Craig and Fickell). I grab him. I also have my eye on OT Chuck Durham and S Leonard Blair. 2/33 arrives and while Craig and Fickell are long gone, I can take either Durham or Blair. I go with Blair. 1/5 - TE Lincoln Woodson, Iowa, 4.8/8.1 1/31 - RB Kerry Tasker, Illinois, 3.4/6.0 2/4 - CB Norman Nixon, Stanford, 2.1/6.5 2/33 - S Leonard Blair, UNLV, 4.4/4.4 3/33 - OG John Horner, Vanderbilt, 2.6/5.4 4/33 - OT Terrell Meadows, Texas Tech, 2.8/4.1 5/8 - DT Teddy Albertson, Oklahoma State, 2.3/4.2 6/17 - QB Johnny McDonald, 2.3/3.9 6/33 - CB Stephen Fenner, Quincy, 2.4/2.8 7/17 - RB Charles Richardson, Syracuse, 2.3/3.4 7/22 - CB Dennis Addison, Addison University, 3.4/3.4 7/33 - QB Tito Myers, Houston, 3.0/3.4 I really like the two QBs I drafted over my current backups. They both suck. The Lone Stars are not moving to Davenport, Iowa. Davenport is bigger these days than many other NFL cities at 2.85 mill. Post draft moves: UFA DE Geoff Doering, Michigan State DE Steven Bajorek, The Citadel S Daryl McGregor, West Texas A&M I want to trade Albert Hall now, but I suppose that I should hit camp first.

The 2049 Huntington Highlanders
QB Lenny Sampson - With every weapon possible, even much is expected in your second year RB Kerry Tasker - A brand new, sexy, running back, fresh off the draft FB Ryan Garth - Thee All Pros and a great presence on the team TE Lincoln Woodson - Another amazing and quality weapon, ready to set records on fire WR Donald Hightower - Awesome WR, not mostly developed - break out! WR Floyd Middleton - Another very powerful WR to catch Sampson’s balls. OT Colin Hampton - Pretty solid OG Calvin McWilliams - With a professional contract, Calvin is entering his best years. C Harvey Stone - Another rock as well OG Lewis Scott - Injury hurt him, but now its time to settle down and get KRB for Tasker and Co. OT Terrell Meadows - The rookie here is adequate at best, but we’ll play him P Bennie Bridges - Always great K Darrin Maloney - Ditto DE Mo Stokes - More of a run stopper than a pass stopper. DT Marvin Solymos - Still hot and sexy DT Bo Casher - Pass rush specialist, and better than last year (hopefully) DE John Cook - Can he repeat last year’s sack total? Can he better it? WLB Geoff Drake - Getting better MLB Joseph James - Also getting better SLB Gene Rivas - And him too CB Eugene Houston - A nickel back for a while moving into the starting position. Shouldn’t be a problem CB Norman Nixon - Another secondary person with weak man-to-man but everything else should be ok S Dean Dawkins - Will he retire a Highlander? 3 All Pros in the last four years. S Leonard Blair - Here we go rookie, here we go!! KR/PR Floyd Middleton, CB Winfred Brennan I have everything needed for an explosive offense: 1/1 pick in QB 1/5 pick in TE 1/31 pick in RB All Pro 3x FB All Pro WR, 1/36 1/21 pick in WR 4 All Pro O Line And one 4th round OT In fact, in the last two years, I have invested a bunch of 1st rounders in my offense. I expect amazing things. (I have added 7 players with a 80 or higher future estimate in those 3 years) Now, on defense, we’re a bit Bend not Break. We are clearly in a transition period and trying to find fixtures at various positions. The only professional contracts back there are Dawkins and Solymos. However, I have a great LB Corps that should hold the line well enough.

Team Stats:
3rd most rushing yards, The best passing offense by 600 yards, 9.4 yards per pass, 1.3 above the next team The fewest rushing yards allowed, 2nd most passing yards allowed - yuck, +1 TO Margin, +22 sack margin (57 vs. 35) Wow, poor passing defense. We clearly did a lot of shoot outs. Individual Stats: QB Lenny Sampson, 318 of 479, 66.3%, 4639 yards, 37:14, 111.3 Rating, 32 sacks, 1 fumble This is a career season for most guys, and it’s just the second one for Sampson. Sampson set the record for most passing yards in a single season (the previous high was Grady Highs 4604 yards in 2041). The QB rating is the second best. Tied for 4th most TDs in a season. RB Kerry Tasker, 266, 1400 yards, 5.2 ypc, 21 scores; 150 rec yards and 1 rec td too, 7 fumbles Not a bad season for Tasker. In another year, this may have been All Pro worthy. There’s no shame in 1400 yards, a 5+ ypc, rating and 20+ scores. WR Donald Hightower, 90 catches, 1491 yards, 13 TDs, (3rd most receiving yards, the most rec TD) WR Floyd Middleton, 80, 1372 yards, 11 scores (5th most rec yards, tied for 2nd most TD) TE Lincoln Woodson, 55, 568 yards, 5 scores WR Percy Stevenson, 55, 753, 5 When you have a record setting year with your QB, your receivers will benefit. With my great receivers, great TE, great FB, very good RB, and great QB, I have a sterling offense, and it showed. K Darrin Maloney, 25 of 32, 64 of 64 P Bennie Bridges, 4h best PR A good year for my offense and some of my defense, but my special teams was down a bit. DE John Cook, 23.5 sacks (led league by 6), 1 block, 6 hurries DT Marvin Solymos, 11 sacks, 2 and 7 Hello sack masters. Cook is in his third year as a starter. His stats have been 6 sacks, 2 blocks, 3 hurries; 13, 1, 10; and now 23.5, 1 and 6. He’s not that great from a skill set standing, but I’ll give him a chance to get another bout of awesome with us next year. He was at 23 with three games to go, and the season high is 25.5. He slowed just enough to not get the record. LB Joseph James, 96, 29, 3.5 sacks, 2 pasdef LB Gene Rivas, 86 tackles, 25 assists, 1 sack, 2 pasdef LB Geoff Drake, 55, 18, 4 sacks; 7 pasdef Again, getting better. I want to spend money to extend these guys. I‘m currently 80 mill under this year, but soon I’ll have to start keeping the pieces of my offense together, and when that happens, who knows how much $$$ I’ll have for LBs. S Leonard Blair, 7 picks, 14 pasdef (the most in the league), 2 int ret td. S Dean Dawkins, 4 picks, 8 pasdef, 1 int ret td CB Norman Nixon, 4 and 5 CB Eugene Houston, 3 picks, 10 pasdef Blair has an All Pro worthy season, but I understand no nod for it. I need more next year. OG Lewis Scott, 36 KRB and 1 sack allowed OG Calvin McWilliams, 33 and 5 C Harvey Stone, 26 and 6 OT Colin Hampton 25 and 7 OT Terrell Meadows, 17 and 14 FB Ryan Garth, 8 KRB, 326 rush yards and 3 rush TD, 195 receiving yards, 1 rec score. There was a clear emphasis on the passing game this year. The KRO diminished. With that falls everything else. I don’t know if this was a one time thing or not. I guess we’ll see.

Team Awards:
Offensive Player of the Year: QB Lenny Sampson - If you set a record, you get an award. There’s no mistaking that. This season will be one of two things. It might be the bright shining season that a player has early, and can’t return to, or it will be just the beginning. What’s next? 4800 yards? 400 completions? 45 TDs? 120 QB Rating? I feel like I’m in the golden age of Highlander football. Defensive Player of the Year: DE John Cook - I don’t like giving someone a back to back set of awards. In this case, Cook deserves it. One of the great sack-years we’ve had. Cook’s stats are 46/50 run D, 64/69 pass rush, and 20 endurance. Special Teams Player of the Year: P Bennie Bridges - He still had a good year despite all of the down-ness in special teams. A good average, and a backbone of field position hear in and year out. He doens‘t kick as many punts as other punters due ot the nature of our offense, so he rarely gets the awards despite the skills and stats. Rookie of the Year: S Leonard Blair - This was basically a three way match between Woodson, Tasker and Blair. Blair led the league in an important statistical category, passes defensed. That’s something interesting, and as such, he’s getting this award. In any other year, Tasker or Woodson would have easily gotten this prize. Heart Award: LB Sean Powell - Backup guy who started three games due to injury. He had three sacks which betters starters on the D Line in Bo Casher and Mo Stokes. Powell is another of the key group of Lbs, as a backup of quality. Records: Grady High now has 463 Tds, the most in a career, and 66,064, the most passing yards in a career. Jon Ackerman is no longer the holder of the most picks in a career, someone now has 99 this year. We already discussed the Sampson career.

Free Agency, Yay!
Players in the last year, of import: DT Marvin Solymos LB Geoff Drake S Dean Dawkins FB Ryan Garth DE John Cook P Bennie Bridges K Darrin Maloney LB Sean Powell WR Percy Stevenson DT Bo Casher CB Eugene Houston 8 backups of low to middle quality I extend P Bridges by one year and K Maloney by two. Ryan Garth is extended by two years. I sign C Harvey Stone to a two year deal I extend Geoff Drake’s contract by three years. What to do with my old guys - Dean Dawkins and Marvin Solymos: Marvin Solymos is 35 and just finished his 11th year in the league and an All Pro season. At this point, he probably won’t trade for much, and it’s probably worth keeping him on m roster, but his skills should start eroding soon. When will that happen? S Dean Dawkins is in his 15th year and he’s 36. He has had 3 All Pros in the last five years. Without a replacement on the team, what about him? Here’s what I’m thinking - let’s with until post draft to see what I find there. If I don’t find replacements, then we can extend them. If I do, then I can let them go. I have 13 picks this year, but no 1st rounder. I want to move some players, so let’s see what I can get: This year’s draft doesn’t seem to have the quality of the last two years. I trade DT Bo Casher to the Dolphins for their 3rd and 7th next year. I trade LB Sean Powell and our 6th rounder (35) to the Panthers for my first round back 1(35). They didn’t have an LB on their roster, and Powell is quite solid. (Powell’s potentials are 64, 92, 73, 89 and 55 endurance) Bo Casher can’t get a 5th rounder from the Colts, so I won’t trade him right now. The same is true of CB Houston. I trade WR Percy Stevenson and next year’s 7th to the Lions for their 2nd next year. Everything else looks fine, so let’s move to the Draft itself.

The 2050 NFL Amateur Draft
Positions of need: RB, TE, WRx3, C, OTx2, DEx2, DT, LB, CB, Sx2 Starters: DE, OT, perhaps CB, S and DT Here we go: The 1/1 pick is QB Derrick Creekmur, Miami for Austin Our pick arrives at the 1/35 position. This is basically a two man race between DE Troy Boyer and his 74-72-61 potentials, and CB Broderick Enbysk with his 82-60-58-83-74 ones. Both can start, and neither will be super sexy. With problems last year in passing defense, I think I‘ve got to go Enbysk here. DE Boyer is gone by the time my 2/35 pick arrives, but we have a lot of quality O and D linemen running around. I take the best OT on the board. After that I largely BAP the draft I have several 3rd round picks, and here are the targets I’m eyeing: DT Eddie Florian, LB Ross Hopper, C Ralph Pascoe, WR Howard Slay, S Russell Welch, 1/35 - CB Broderick Enbysk, Oregon State, 4.6/4.6 2/35 - OT Desmond Lampkin, Cal-Northridge, 3.5/3.5 3/21 - S Russell Welch, Arizona State, 2.5/4.3 3/27 - DT Eddie Florian, Rutgers, 3.4/4.1 3/33 - LB Ross Hopper, Kansas State, 3.1/3.8 4/35 - WR Howard Slay, Amherst, 2.4/25 5/14 - C Ralph Pascoe, Louisville, 4.0/4.0 5/35 - WR Billy Fields, Tennessee, 3.0/3.0 6/24 - S Butch Gilmore, Iowa, 2.4/4.0 6/33 - RB Seth Marais, Utah State, 2.6/3.9 7/33 - TE Winfred Brill, Stanford, 2.7/3.7 7/35 - LB Seth Carlson, Pittsburgh, 2.0/3.6 After the draft, I have 49 players on my roster. I hit up the players and: UFA DE Nate Broyles, Stanford; DE Marvin Robinson, Indiana; WR Tyrell Crawford, Texas; DT Roger Burgess, Tennessee I extend Marvin Solymos, John Cook and Dean Dawkins by two years each.

Say hello to Camp!
I accept a trade offer from the Jets for their 3rd for CB Eugene Houston. We sell out all 65k season tix. I sign UFA CB Mike Jenkins. The rook look: CB Broderick Enbysk, 33/64 C Ralph Pascoe, 30/63 - A slight boom S Russell Welch, 32/61 DT Eddie Florian, 31/61 OT Desmond Lampkin - 26/59 LB Ross Hopper, 11/52 TE Winfred Brill, 41/51 WR Billy Fields, 31/50 RB Seth Marais, 35/46 WR Howard Slay, 24/45 OT Billy Emerson, 18/43- A slight bust S Butch Gilmore, 38/40 Overall, a very meh draft. This draft is more about surrounding my talent with enough bodies to do well.

As part of the 2050 celebration, I was asked to name my three favorite people in each position that I’ve ever GMed. Here they are:
Quarterback - Grady High had the stats, the skills and the magic. He was a wonder in a football uniform. After having drafted Jerome Allard with t he1/1 pick with San Antonio, I felt he wasn’t quite good enough, so we traded and started backup QB Tony Clements. I would acquire Tony with my next franchise, Albuquerque and then turn him into a star and a HOF QB. Ernest Mayes was not a draftee of mine, but he was one of the best I’ve worked with, and he was the dominant first QB of the Cleveland/Huntington franchise that led ot High and now Sampson. Running Back - This is the hardest one. I have five obvious HOF Rbs in Heath Shepherd, Ralph Barrett Grady Pender, Jake Duffy and Albert Hall. Plus, let’s not forget team HOF guys in Troy Santoro, Maurice Carlisle and Aaron Witt. Of this list, I think I have to go with Pender, Duffy and Hall. Each of those were quite good, not only as runners, but as receivers. They would sometime shave 5 rec Tds, 100 yard rec days and even a 1000 yard rec season once. All of them had that extra level that you adored. Fullback - Tracy Kramer, Ryan Garth and Ernie Kinney. I’ve had 5 Fbs with All Pro seasons, but Kramer and Garth are the only ones to have long term stints on my roster. I wanted to keep Kinney who was good and fresh off an All Pro season, but I didn’t; have the cash for a 1 million FB, so I let him go and drafted Ryan Garth . Yay Garth! Tight End - Rick Rivers, Brant Carman, Ed Gardener - This is easy, because I’ve had three truly great ones. Woodson looks like the 4th. It won’t be long before they call Rivers’ name for Canton, I’m sure. Wide Receiver - Marvin Graham, Jerome Baker, Donald Wagner. I remember what it was like to have two All Pro receivers on the Albuquerque team. For the first time in more than 30 years, I have it again with my Highlanders. Marvin Graham is the best WR of the era. Offensive Tackle - Will Poston, Colin Hampton, and Tim Becker. Will and Colin were OT that were good enough to warrant the rare professional contract for an OT. Tim Becker was a signing from FA for my Richmond expansion tem that immediately came in, got two All Pros, and was a rock for a new team. Offensive Guard - Bruce Holiday, Lewis Scott, Neil Lee - Each of these three gentleman were on my team for 10 or more years, and all had at least three All Pros - Holiday had a ton. I still think that Bruce should’ve been a HOF player. Center - Marty Brennan, who has the career most KRB, Jesse Tate, a HOF C for my Richmond club, and Harvey Stone, who looks as spicy as they come. This is an easy choice. Those who kick balls - Darrin Maloney, Olindo Mare, Claude Johnson - all HOF or will be. Defensive End - Bert Curtain, the most overachieving HOFer ever, Brock Woods, HOF player to grace my team for a year, and Christian Torres, HOFer who was on my team for years. Only Curtain was one of my draftees. Defensive Tackle - Ross Meadows was the first ever pick for Albuquerque, a fixture in season awards and HOFer. Marvin Solymos has been a long term player of quality for me. Stanley Allen was one of my first players of quality for Cleveland before the became the Highlanders. We relied on him for years. Linebacker - Quinn Burroughs, Joe Martinez, Joseph James. Burroughs and Martinez are in the HOF, and Burroughs is the best LB I’ve ever had. James looks to be as good, but we need more tackles from him. Cornerback - This is rough. Jim Ackerman and Leon Morabito belong here, but then? Mercury Greene? Bob Pearson? Jack Huntley? Jessie Pirtle? Rufus McGowan? I’m going to go with McGowan’s four All Pros. That’s a better resume than the other HOF Corners. (assuming Pearson is a HOF corner, he should be, but you never know) Safety - Dean Dawkins, Eric Carlson, and Travis Westbrook. This is tough because Tyrone Rexin and Derek Long were very good choices as well. At the end of the day, I went with two HOF players I drafted and a third who will be on my current team.

QB Lenny Sampson - What will he do this year? RB Kerry Tasker - A very good year last year, does he have another level? FB Ryan Garth - Another strong year from Garth TE Lincoln Woodson - Now that Woodson has developed and one All Pro, let’s get him more WR Donald Hightower - Incredible so far WR Floyd Middleton - Two All Pro receivers baby! OT Colin Hampton - Quite nice OG Lewis Scott - How about 4 C Harvey Stone - Dropped a bit last year, but now I want to see him back to form OG Calvin McWilliams - Who is a sexy beast? OT Desmond Lampkin - An acceptable, but green starter P Bennie Bridges K Darrin Maloney DE Mo Stokes - Weak DT Marvin Solymos - Did not drop in camp, let’s see another great year. DT Eddie Florian - What will the rookie do? DE John Cook - I gave him an expensive professional contract, but I want to see another All Pro season WLB Geoff Drake - In order to keep my threesome together, I upped the contract of Drake MLB Joseph James - More stats please SLB Gene Rivas - Now all LB are fully developed, I want to see another level from them CB Norman Nixon - Decent CB Broderick Enbysk - Let’s go rookie S Dean Dawkins - Anchor my secondary S Leonard Blair - Fresh off a Defensive Rookie of the Year nod. Already better than RJ Baxter PR/KR Floyd Middleton and CB Dennis Addison Professional Contracts: OT Colin Hampton, OG Calvin McWilliams, OG Lewis Scott, C Harvey Stone, P Bennie Brides, K Darrin Maloney, DT Marvin Solymos, DE John Cook, LB Geoff Drake, S Dean Dawkins Soon, I need to make decisions on my power-but-still-on-rookie-contract linebackers and offensive skill positions.
