A new term invented by the makers of Airborne and the other zinc "cold treatments" to make you paranoid about getting sick.

On a related note, I'm beginning to think I should just have a bag packed (well, not really a bag, more like a pouch or something) that has the few things I need every time I go to the hospital: ID, insurance card, credit card, headphones, glasses...

Oi.

I sort of figured it was Cheers when you went to the hospital.
All the staff, and a few of patients, stop what they're doing, and yell "Kristen!"

Why would you need ID?

No dental insurance question:

My student insurance doesn't cover dental. I noticed just now that sometime this morning that the enamel of one of my bottom teeth chipped off on the back of it. At least I think that's what happened. The mirror shows white where it chipped off, and I can feel with my tongue the edge of the top half where it is still there.

How much would this cost to fix? Anybody ever have this, or where I could look. I would call a local dentist but I assume they are out for the next day or two.

My wife had some issues and Aspen Dental just gave her the estimate and fixed it. I'd look into that, cause the pricing was pretty straightforward.

looking at your problem more closely, i think thats similar to what my wife had done and it was in the neighborhood of $600 IIRC. I think there's also market pricing at work.

That would be a real kick to the nuts. I'd probably just roll without fixing it, unfortunately.

Do you think they accept steam games as currency?

CareCredit® Healthcare Finance - Payment Plans and Financing for Cosmetic Surgery, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Veterinary & Other Medical Procedures

Whatever place you go to you'd have to make sure they accept it. I had to have a large amount of dental work done in the last quarter of last year and dental insurance is kinda crappy so I have a pretty big bill... but with care credit I have a year to pay it off at 0% interest. That made it much more reasonable. Like most other 0% promos, you are really screwed with interest if you don't pay it off entirely, so you have to be sure you can pay it off within 12 months.

Well, I guess I'm old. I can't believe I just watched Flo Rida on network TV singing a song about sucking his dick. I can't believe it's ok to air that.

I can't believe that was allowed on the air. I picture a bunch of 70 year olds wondering what happened as they compare that to Bill Haley and the Comets.

It's HTML, and embedding part of a web page.

Edit: or an image it downloads from the web.

Amusing.

Fuck people that still have issues with mixed race families!

Dude that delivered a TV yesterday my wife won through a raffle for a blacks in politics fundraiser yesterday went from extremely friendly when me wife answered the door, to looking like someone pissed in his mouth when I appeared to take the TV from him. Then walked away shaking his head. (I wasn't even going to say a thing, but my wife commented as soon as I she shut the door)

Really, Still?

Nah - zero tolerance for people like that. The sooner we get rid of them the faster we can advance as a species.

So I'm supposed to believe Will And Grace lived in the same city for 15 years, kept Jack and Karen as mutual friends but didn't see each other once. Bullshit.

So hysterically enough I had surgery today and the anesthesiologist was someone I knew from a past life. In addition to working at the hospital where I had my surgery, he also used to work in a pain management clinic in the area. I had been a patient of his at the pain clinic in August-October, 2010, until he left said clinic. It was a complete surprise to see him at the hospital, much less to realize that he was going to be the one knocking me out.

ETA: He is also a MD alum, he graduated the year before me. I think we had met while I was there, likely via my on-campus job.

I dunno if it coincided with the end of The Wire, but I like how The RZA has quietly supplanted Method Man as the marketable Wu Tang member.

I know THAT - I'm just trying to understand the post about them living in the same city for 15 years, having mutual friends and not seeing each other.

Was that the series finale (which I probably missed or forgot) or something?

My 16 year old (well now 17) cousin is a felon!

He has two felonies on his juvy record now. Luckily for him he was like a week shy of his 17th birthday when he got arrested. State of TX wanted to try him as an adult, but my uncle shelled out for a lawyer and fought it and he was tried as a juvenile.

His charge - possession with intent to distibute (that's what they get you for when you're a dealer, right?).

So you're thinking "okay...16...probably prescription drugs and pot."

Nope. He skipped that pussy shit and went straight for the harder stuff: PCP, LSD, and Coke.

What a loser. Funny - I never would have picked him in the "which relative is most likely to be a felon first" pool - he seemed like the most well-adjusted of that family.

Just had to share, because it's too crazy. Silly TX-branch of my family continues to amaze with their sheer idiocy.

Yeah, the show opened with Leo back and proposing to Grace once he found out she was pregnant. Will was doing laundry at the time and it fades to black as he walks towards the apartment which Grace and Leo are in. It then skips ahead two years, Will and Vince have a baby boy and Grace and Leo have a baby girl and they haven't spoken in that whole time. Jack and Karen concoct a scheme to get them together and the four of them end up having a fun evening together. As Grace leaves the apartment they both half heartedly agree to keep in touch.

Skip ahead another 16 years or so and their kids meet cute while moving into their dorm rooms at either Columbia, NYU or Lincoln Tech, it's never mentioned. Turns out from the night Grace left the apartment till now the two of them haven't spoken to each other. In the end their kids end up getting married. It was pretty bullshit and I can't believe I just recapped it in such detail.

The headline on Google News is "Obama expected to nominate Chuck Hagel as Security of Defense"

I read that as "Obama expected to nominate Chuck Norris as Security of Defense"

Skip ahead another 16 years or so and their kids meet cute while moving into their dorm rooms at either Columbia, NYU or Lincoln Tech, it's never mentioned. Turns out from the night Grace left the apartment till now the two of them haven't spoken to each other. In the end their kids end up getting married. It was pretty bullshit and I can't believe I just recapped it in such detail.

Could you break down the Dharma and Greg finale when you get a chance? Thanks.

Depends on the state, but usually a state will have a law that says something like "if you are caught with more than X amount of Y drug, it's 'possession with intent to distribute'". Basically, while he wasn't caught actually selling it, he did have a shitload of drugs on him. Enough for them to believe that he's a dealer.

On a side note, I love that the word 'shitload' is recognized by my spell checker.
