Anybody else thinking about having every single person tomorrow go against Galactus? Forget the mission for one day and have us all hit Galactus as hard as possible? Then, assuming good news on the Galactus front, we can focus on future missions.

I do not believe that ceding a mission to the rebels is ever a good idea.

I can tell you that I was not thinking this and indeed even thinking this is not so wise.

Yeah I don't like that idea Firebird. Or at least not without at least seeing what mission lies ahead tomorrow.

SPECIAL ATTACK - PROBABILITY MANIPULATION
I sent a PM saying I wanted to use my special ability at 3:25 Central, and was told I need to post it in the thread, but that I would still get credit for having performed the action at 3:25 even though I'm not posting it until now. So an FYI, we're supposed to post here in the thread that we're using special abilities. |

From my reading of the results of the Galactacus mission...I think he is growing stronger and gaining new abilities everyday - today he was capable of self-repair. This leads me to believe that this mission should be an urgent priority.

What does your special ability do Scarlet Witch? Will it aid the rebel mission, or what?

I'm hoping this is not a double-post. This adaptation is of great concern to us all. He now seems impervious to fire because he can self-repair/heal. I think that this will come down to what our scientists or inventors are able to come up with to neutralize his abilities.

I believe the only way to defeat Galactus is to use one of the abilities that are designed to do so. Anything will be useless.

I think we have a winner here. And if Mimic is one of those who could do so, then really we have puzzles inside of puzzles, though I do believe Mimic was not originally thought of as a person who could stop Galactus.

Has Ironfist offered anything since he said he had a special way of stopping Galactacus? Could've been a ploy to try and save his life.

Mission details...
You alight to Tokyo to find a lightly guarded factory. Firebird melts the gates and you announce your presence with authority. Men scatter, with only a token few security guards opening fire with their weapons. Magneto dismisses these attacks with a wave of his hand and Aardwolf gorges on a helpless secretary. Inside, you find the factory is deserted. This seems extremely odd - there are billions of dollars invested in the metal here but nothing stands between you and victory? The answer appears to be "no". Quicksilver dashes over to the computer and begins downloading data, then introducing a virus created by Sinister to shut down opearations for good. One lone Sentinel creaks forward, spotting Nightcrawler and opening fire with some type of plasma weapon. The blue warrior teleports rapidly, continuing to draw fire as Punisher rattles the machine with armor-piercing bullets. Henry Pym then assumes his giant form, and grapples with the robot while Beast jumps inside the robot and tears it open from within. The building is destroyed by an air strike as you return to Washington DC to plan your next move. You emerge from this mission perplexed by your good fortune. |

My time would have been better spent against Galactus.
If the ease of the mission is due to my daughter's intervention, then well done. |

I agree with the others, that seemed far too easy given what happened on the first mission yesterday. Either Scarlet Witch had a strong affect on the results and/or we far exceeded the energy required for this mission. Or the mission was a set-up by the opposition to get us to commit our forces to it and not to finding them. In any case, I was happy to "stretch my legs" and hold off the Sentinel during the attack.

I will pledge Doom's power against Galactus tomorrow. I will see if I can devise an effective attack to interfere with his progress.
As for attacks, Gambit has drawn some attention as has Silver Samurai and Mimic. Are there any other suspects? It is key that we root out a traitor tonight and keep Galactus at bay. |

Given Gambit's complete lack of impact on Galactus two days in a row, and his decision to switch to that mission versus the Sentinels, I am going to step in and say:
DR. DOOM ATTACKS GAMBIT I am willing to change my attack if a better suspect steps forth. |

Clearly not all missions are of equal strength. Yesterday's was quite tough while today's was pretty easy. This will be good to know for the future. We need to judge our strength and not over-do it.
As far as Galactus goes, it doesn't look like a straight-on assault will be of much use...especially not with the same types of attacks. My fire did some damage yesterday, but he (it?) seems to have adapted today. We either need to throw a different group at him tomorrow, or we need to figure something else out. Anybody here with an ability to throw a wrench in his adaptation? Anybody here helping him with his strength that we should have a "talk" with? |

For some reason I am uneasy about Aardwolf and would like to use my attack there. But, I believe we need to take someone out tonight since Galactus gets closer every time we don't so...

Another moderator request - if you have the option of doing different types of damage with your attacks, please specify the type (Physical, Energy, Psionic, Magic). If you only have one option there is no need to specify.
And, as Scarlet Witch referenced earlier - any use of special attacks must include the name of the special attack in the post. Special attacks, unlike standard attacks, may not be revoked. Last edited by hoopsguy : 10-08-2008 at 04:36 PM. Reason: moderator is dumb (d'oh) |
