Dude, go to the hospital. Even if it turns out to be nothing more than a concussion, at least be sure nothing else bad is happening inside your nugget.

When my wife and I thought she had a concussion due to poor safety practice at a grocery store (boxes fell on her head), we went to the ER. .

She was scheduled to have a CT scan to rule out concussion or something worse....

as EF27 can tell you, they give pregnancy tests to all women...

we found out she was pregnant with our son.

Wow.

anyway.. go to the hospital.

I'm already dealing with a bill for $185 from a hospital that treated me for a sinus infection when I had insurance. The insurance said they would cover the whole thing. They found a clerical error caused it to process as out of network, so they denied it. Now they says there is nothing they can do.

When I was a kid I had a major concussion. (Car accident. My head made a mess out of the windshield.) I was seeing double & couldn't walk on my own. I looked at the doctor & told him I was fine. The doc told my mom to just watch me, as I had a concussion.

This is a mild one. I would bet money (if I had any) that if I went to a doctor they'd just tell me to take some asprin.

Just back her up more towards the foot of the bed and you should be alright. However, when it's time to add to the Lathum family, just scoot up towards that 'ol headboard.

No chance you can just double down on the investment and flip properties similar to yours?

I'll find out when I contact a realtor... in this housing market you never know (and who knows when/if an emergency manager takes over the city.) I did get a decent deal though... mostly due to every water line having blown up, so I should get at least what I have spent out of it.

Had a second interview today for an internal position at my former employer, hoping this works out and I'm only unemployed for a month.

On the same sorta path as Dan just want to gauge some of your thoughts on my current interview process. So I finished my undergrad in December and I've been pretty active in my search, and I've been lucky enough to get a few interviews. I am currently employed basically full-time with one of the giant retailers I worked while in school (this doesn't really matter).

So I've interviewed twice with a small place that does recruiting in the food and beverage industry. First interview was an hour long meeting (3 person panel interview) with the team of 3 I would be directly working. Everyone was young, fun, and we had a great conversation. I was a little nervous, but nothing too terrible. So I was called back to interview with the owner (he splits his time between this place and the other office in Florida) and then the person who is the team's boss that I mentioned previously.

At this interview I was noticeably nervous and the style of the interview kind of threw me off. I felt like I didn't take control of the interview and I didn't get to mention many of the things that make me stand out or separate me from others. I was much more nervous with the interview with the owner than the guy I would possibly eventually work with, which is probably a plus. So they were going to give me a call a few days later (Wednesday) and set me up with a third interview or let me know I wasn't a fit. Wednesday came along and I had been waiting around the phone all day expecting a thanks but no thanks phone call. 4pm comes and I get a text from the guy who was going to call me. He lets me know he's going to be in meetings all day and wants to know if tomorrow is ok. Of course I say that's fine and such, but to be honest I was quite pissed and ruined my whole day off.

So the call comes Thursday and he starts by asking my interest in the position and I give him the standard I want to work in that environment crap. Then he tells me that he doesn't want to bring me in for a 3rd interview yet, but wants to meet me outside the office for dinner or something of that sort. I immediately thought that was just a elongated no. I agreed and told him I would email my availability, but I have such mixed feelings on this situation. The positives and negatives have been running through me since. Would you guys consider this like an interview 2b? He mentioned that he wanted to get to know the real me, and get me outside of the office setting. Sorry for the rambling, but this has been on my mind quite a bit and there are a lot of smart guys around here. Talk to me folks.

PS The second interviews didn't go as badly as it seems when I write it down. The negative about it was my visible nervousness which I imagine is pretty common.

Yeah - I think it's a positive sign man. He wants to gauge the real you - maybe he noticed you were nervous or something and wants you to relax...maybe it's a close-knit team and he wants to make sure your personality meshes with his/what he thinks everyone else is.

It's a positive...just go in there relaxed and show him the real (not-inappropriate) you.

He did mention it in the phone call. The biggest positive I keep coming up with is that he wouldn't waste his time or money if there wasn't some sort of interest I wouldn't think. But hell, what do I really know?

He absolutely wouldn't waste it.

When we were hiring to bring someone into our small team we took a couple of the finalists out to (separate) meals to get to know the "real" them.

Treat the waitstaff like good people and you will be in good hands. You can learn a lot about someone by seeing how they treat people that are providing a service to you.

happened to stumble on this awesome synopsis on wikipedia of Eddie Murphy's Party All the Time

Quote:
The song tells a harrowing tale from the perspective of a heartbroken lover, portrayed in the first-person by Eddie Murphy. He begins by questioning, perhaps rhetorically, why the female with whom he is currently participating in a relationship would want to cause him emotional pain. The narrator goes on to list extravagant items he's purchased for her, including, but not limited to: Champagne, Roses, and Diamond rings. Despite the items that the narrator has given, the female still insists on staying out all night (presumably in the company of other men). The narrator then poses perhaps another rhetorical question as to what he should do to remedy this depressing situation. The listener is then repeatedly informed that the narrator's "girl" wishes to attend nightclubs and house parties at all hours of the day and night. Later on, the narrator points out that he's acted as a voyeur and observed said female whilst she was present at an unknown nightclub. She was seen providing her telephone number to virtually every male patron of the club with whom she came in verbal contact. We are then informed that the narrator's female companion never arrives at their place of residence in the evening. Her absence is believed to be caused by infidelity, presumably with one or many of the men with whom she became acquainted earlier that evening. The narrator then goes on to wish that his female companion would have sexual intercourse with him, instead of the many other men with whom she has been copulating.

Nothing epitomizes being a loser than having a 2 for 1 special at Cosmopolitan's buffet and being unable to find anyone to go with.

And it expires today, too. I might see if they'd be willing to give me an extension based on my grandmother's passing away and my not being in town last week to use it. Otherwise I'll just give the freebie to whoever is behind me in line, I guess.

Just watched the opening number, have to say, my wife and I were pissing ourselves it was so funny. Easily the best opening I've seen. One of the funniest things was watching the audience reactions. Some people in hysterics and some complete sour pusses. Loved it.
