scouting report says she does her best work in the slot. but can be a deep threat when she's split wide.

His mother must not be a whore. Otherwise he would have been able to hold off signing for awhile longer.

News out of Pats-ville today has it that Wes Welker will NOT need to go on the PUP list at all, and will be able to fully participate in all preseason training camp activities and barring and barring any unexpected setbacks, should be fit to start the season opener!!

Some sad news, as Kaye Cowher (wife of Bill Cowher) lost her battle with cancer at the age of 54. I hadn't heard that she was ill, but I now suspect that could be why he retired and hasn't returned to coaching.

That's a potential big money donor that he's pissed off. I'd certainly hear about it if I treated a multi-millionaire alum this way.

Yeah, all the local media was getting all orgasmic on how the deadline passed(I thought) on putting him on the inactive PUP.
Now I'm reading since they put him on the active PUP(which doesn't mean he can't play week 1) they can still put him on the inactive. I hate the media. |

I was wondering why this Kennedy Pola would burn bridges like this, but that is a pretty big promotion. Kiffin screwed up the courtesy protocol, because he's a douchebag, but no NFL coach is going to get in the way of a guy moving from assistant running back coach to offensive coordinator, even if the training camp is about to start. I'm sure Fischer can find another guy to hold a clipboard and a stopwatch in time.

Am I crazy to think that the Lions at 15-1 to win the NFC North is giving pretty good odds? Stafford had a good rookie season and has a year under his belt. Calvin Johnson is still one of the top 2-3 offensive weapons in the league. And the defense is young and hungry.
The Packers are one sacked-far-too-often Rogers injury away from being below .500. The Vikings have a bad coach and ended last year on a horrible note. And I just don't think that Martz & Cutler are made for each other. Now, I'm not saying that the Lions are more likely than not to win the North. But I do think that they are better than the 7% chance that the early odds are giving them. |

I thought you were asking whether the Lions going 15-1 was a good bet to take.

That's probably the main reason to put a few bucks on them. "Being the Lions" probably bumps their odds in the division from 10-1 to 15-1. I mean, I wouldn't take either bet, but that's the kind of stuff I look for. |

15-1, sounds reasonable.
I've found a good bet right before the season is the over under bets on total wins / losses. There are always 1 that stands out and seems like a no brainer. |

I don't think anyone is going to question the value of Calvin Johnson, and Stafford showed the most guts I've seen out of a Lions QB since Eric Hipple, but there are questions on the coaching staff and I just don't think they have the defense to have a realistic shot at the division title. "Young and hungry" does not put them on the same level as:
Sadly I think 7% is being a bit optimistic.

I'm mostly pissed because apparently Bryant is both hurt and underperforming. Shouldn't you have knon that before you signed him to a 29 mil deal?

I can definitely see that, but, since it is the Lions, they will either just fall short or go 1-15 again, just to spite everyone that took the bet.

Rumors are that it's likely that Bryant will go to the PUP.
How can you sign a guy and not know his knee is fucked?

The TO signing reminds me of why I hate ESPN. They're treating this as if Jerry Rice in his prime just signed. Wall-to wall coverage for a guy who caught 50 odd passes last year.

Other than college football games, the Monday night game, perhaps that college football highlight show and NBA games (if that's what you like), I don't understand why anyone watches ESPN anymore. You know what you're going to get.

He seems like a smart QB, so hopefully, he can be an asset to Brees in the film room. Basically, if Brees goes down for any length of time, the Saints have no chance. The team is all-in on the idea of Brees staying healthy. So I don't have a problem with getting a backup like Ramsey. I'd rather the team spend money on getting higher quality backups for other positions. Last edited by albionmoonlight : 07-28-2010 at 05:37 PM. |

Exactly, if anything happens to Brees long term- we're f-ed doesn't matter who the backup is.... but Ramsey can't possibly be as bad as Brunell looked last preseason. |
