Oh, and my current lineup:

Steve Jeopardy - Blanc Bribery - Justin Huff

Mason - Bob Zomby - Davy Loose

Huff may seem like an odd choice, but the x2 he gives is just so useful. He's really low level, but his ones give me a lot of rerolls with Jeopardy giving me chances to get the combo -1 from Bribery or to hit his x2.

Bribery is decent for goal scoring, but he doesn't get any specials. With a +1-2-+2-3-4-4 I'm often scoring 3+.

I should show up in your leadeboard when you go to the inn. When I entered your code it said we were already friends.

You can sign up for a Venan id and then you can play with multiple characters, each in their own game and the gam syncs across multiple devices. I go back and forth between iPhone abd iPod seamlessly.

Can't remember if this game was posted yet, but New Star Soccer for the iPhone is super-addictive. Only costs a couple bucks to unlock all modes (free download to try it out for part of a season). Been playing it far too much, but I'm hooked.

Big Win Hockey has been fun for me. They apparently just released a soccer version as well.

What's it like? Is it more like NSS1, where it's more like a text sim, or NSS3, which is more arcade style?

Can't believe I completely missed this. Was a big fan of the earlier version of the game. Installing it now.

Actually, the soccer game came out way before the hockey one. Had the soccer game on my phone for a long while but was never able to connect to their server to actually play so I uninstalled.

Installed the hockey game when it came out but have yet to try it.

Cool, I should check it out. I like both versions, but don't want to have to be coordinated to play, especially since I have an old iphone.

Bribery is decent for goal scoring, but he doesn't get any specials. With a +1-2-+2-3-4-4 I'm often scoring 3+.

I've settled in on my current lineup and am currently demolishing most season 4 teams.

Andy Robin - 222444; (x2) when you roll a 2
El Toro - 345668; Through Pass when all dice are even
Berie Schweister - 22(+2)(+2)44; Intercept when you roll a 4

Essentially, Robin and Schweister will always give you even numbers. El Toro has a 2 in 3 chance of hitting an even number and getting you past any matching lineup. El Toro is also ridiculous against most goalkeepers.

Make sure to use Possessive GF as entourage. It adds +1 to your total if you have possession... which means El Toro is 456779 against Goalkeepers 1-on-1.

Also use Dicey Dave entourage to get a free (x2) if the opponent's total roll is 6 or more than yours.

One notable exception is the Breeze team in Season 4. I used a combination of El Toro, Vain Looney, and Messy, just because it's more efficient to use brute force to beat them.

Defense combo:

Three Lung Park - 12W344; Reroll if you roll a 2
Kello The Tourist - 222444; Zonal Marking on all three opponent's dice when you roll a pair
Zachary Santa - 222444; (-1) on all opponent's dice when you roll a pair

This defense is awesome as well. As long as you know how to play your re-rolls, you can whittle down most opposing forward combinations to oblivion.

Goalkeeper: Ikea Quesadillas - (+2)(+2) 4 5 8 10; -1 to opponent dice when you roll a 4.

k0ruptr, one of the disadvantages of the app is, it doesn't show the MGM Casino's, so you can't get the Grand, the Mirage, the Bellagio. From what I've read on the poker sites, they plan on rolling out there own app sometime in the future.

It's really nice for me here in Minnesota as I can see what games are being spread at Canterbury and what the wait lists are like.

ok, that post incited me to try out Big Win Hockey yesterday before going to bed and it is a lot of fun. I like watching the little guys play out the game and played a bunch of games. We should try to get 8 more FOFCers on this so we can organize a daily trophy thing of our own...

And this one also syncs between multiple devices with a secret code.

I reinstalled Big Win Soccer to see if it plays any better now.

I grabbed both Big Win games as well, but haven't tried either yet. I'm willing to join in any FOFC group for these games.

New Star Soccer has been pretty fun too. Hard to put that one down.

I'm still in season 2, so I really can't build this lineup yet - but I'll keep an eye out.

Really hitting a wall in season 2 really, can't make it through tournament 1 at the moment. I've been playing aroudn with a lot of lineups, none of them really are a home run so far.

really like the Big Win games, maybe a bit more so the hockey one because it's funnier to watch the game instead of skipping to the end. There's something reminiscing of my youth about you opening packs of cards and wishing for nice ones.

I bought a gold pack when I got to 10 gold bucks and it paid off nicely, got a 64 rated goalkeeper. Team is now rated at 50.

I'm part through Season 2 and I just won the first tournament.

My lineup goes:

Front 3
Antonio Lucacci - 113333 (-/+ switch also works on multipliers/dividers)
Ray Beeze - 111267 (Through pass on all odd dice)
Steve Jeopardy - 112335 (Reroll on 1)

So the same lineup as Neon Chaos. The real key to this lineup IMO is Lucacci. His guaranteed odd goes a long way to getting that Through Ball when you have possession.

Back 3
Bryan Nelson - 112333 (-1 to all enemy dice when you roll a pair)
Linus Backer - 223344 (Reduce the value of a die by half when your total is even)
Bob Zomby - 333344 (steal opponents' pluses and/or gives them your minuses when your total is odd)

I freaking love this backline. There's a very strong chance of getting a pair with this group and you're guaranteed to fire one of two pretty darn useful bonuses.

Goalkeeper
Jose Heartbreak - 1+12334 (Removes re-rolls when you get a 2)

He sucks but all the other goalies I've unlocked are super-expensive. Fortunately that backline means very few chances are getting through.

After about 15 daily trophies I finally won the thing without paying any real money. There's a lot of people are clearly spending real money for the extra big bucks because there's some awfully high team ratings for their level. That being said...still fun and didn't know the hockey game came out after the soccer game.

For those playing Fairway Solitaire...thanks for the recommendation. Also a fun and addicting game.

One question, how do you "login"? All of the awards say "Golfer" for the name. Plus it would be nice if my wife could play the game as well...just not on my character/career.

Ok, played big win hockey some today.

Totally in for an FOFC league or whatever, don't know how you set it up, but I'm in.

I think we'd want to say no $$$ for our league, right?

On the opening screen, to the left of the big "Play" button, is the word "Welcome", above a little gold colored bubble that in your case I imagine says the word "Golfer" next to a pencil icon.

Hmm I've been having issues with Dice Soccer, it isn't letting me sub players in. Is there some special technique I have to use?

I'm not all that far in, I just got through the demo...

I admit, I'm actually more interested right now in trying out Book of Heroes...

Also, for anyone interested, I've been playing with a lot of photography apps this year as part of my Photo 365 project as seen through my iPhone (a/k/a iphoneography...I post a new photo each day on Twitter and once in awhile cull to flickr).

My favorite apps have been ProCamera for actually taking the photos and Big Lens for post-processing. I've also played with Camera+ (not my favorite interface) and some stitching programs (AutoStitch, Photosynth, and Pano...Photosynth has worked the best for me). I also like "My Shot Lists" which provides some inspiration for types of shots to get at various places you may go. It also allows you to catalog them as you take them.

I have Monopoly (yes, I paid money for an EA product, but only 99c) -- but cannot get it to start a game with more than just two players. I assumed this was some extra price to unlock the broader capacity, but I cannot figure out how to do so. Anyone else played this? (I have it on the iPad, not sure if it's also an iPhone app)

+1. Great on iPhone, too. Although it is sort of annoying Reeder for iPhone is a different app than the one for iPad, so you need to buy two different programs (Three if you want it on your Mac, too).

So I've been playing Big Win Hockey and I'm about to pickup Big Win Soccer, but I have a question.

Is there really any strategy to this? Feels like it's just about luck and collecting players, but no real sense of strategy. I tried to google, but couldn't find anything.

Substitutions had me confused for a while as well.

First, you need to put players on your bench. The interface isn't great for letting you know who you already have assigned places, so you have to remember who is in your starting lineup. During the match, you can enter a sub through the pause menu, but you can only sub for a player you can see. If you want a new front-line player to come in, your front-line needs to be on the screen. This was the part that confused me most. Then it is just a matter of clicking on pictures, but you can't see the skills of the subs during the process. You have to remember who they are by face.

I rarely put in a sub since the AI doesn't sub. Normally I just take the loss and try again with a different lineup.

Take the losses. You unlock a player by having 10 losses.

The Big Win games are pretty cool. We should definitely get an FOFC friendly league going.

I was thinking about getting my dad an ipod for his birthday. Does anyone have the new smaller nano? It appears like i can get the 8gig for around 125, but I'm unsure if that player is going to be easy to use. I think you can get the Touch for around 150 refurb'd through apple, or 199 new. He probably wouldn't use any of the other features other than music playing, but I wonder if the extra size on the screen would be easier to use.

Get him the Touch. You'd be surprised who it can suck in to more than just the music. I bought the touch to replace a dead iPod because they were blowing them out with a sale and throwing in gift cards and the like. I was hooked before I boarded the plane to go home. Three days later my wife had one as well.

I was thinking that the ability to purchase songs on the go as well as wireless syncing should be obvious reasons the more I considered it. I feel kind if bummed that all the Nike+ stuff wasnt out when my dad was younger. He'd have notebooks full of mileage and times.

ok, thought I could do a friends daily trophy in Big Win Hockey but either I'm too dumb or it's just not there. I did create one in Big Win Soccer. Go to the daily trophy place, to "create or join a friends trophy" and then enter FOFC in all caps. If we get to 10 entries we should receive money prizes from what I understand...

He probably wouldn't use any of the other features other than music playing, but I wonder if the extra size on the screen would be easier to use.

I have the new Nano (got it as a birthday gift) and frankly I think they're almost a bit too small to be useable. It's more difficult than it should be even for someone my age to scroll through things and select songs.

If I had my choice I would have one of the Touch's.

this is separate from the official daily trophy thing, you can compete in both of them, I think.

At least, I'm playing games in both the daily and the FOFC friends trophy.
