Just to be clear, did that qualify as a "helluva collapse" by Mizzou? I'm still a bit unclear on just what has to happen to invoke that term.

In other Big 12 news, Texas played about as bad a half of basketball as I've ever seen them play, and are lucky to escape with an OT win against Tech.

HAHA.. the fouls called in that second half were laughable at best.. whatever.

I guess when you run someone over, but block a shot that's fine, but when you run someone over and make a basket, that's a foul on the guy who was ran over.

Those last 5 minutes of reffing is the reason why I just don't get into basketball besides watching Mizzou or playing a text sim .

Yeah, I'd say that worked out about how it was supposed to. Definitely some rough calls in Columbia down the stretch to allow KU to lose that game. Same situation in Lawrence with some phantom fouls down the stretch that had a lot of people scratching their heads.

A rematch would be fantastic. I'll be there for that one if it happens. Thankfully, it appears that Mizzou will likely face nothing but B12 South teams in the first and second rounds with KU having both KSU and ISU on their half of the bracket.

Iowa State also has the ability to make noise and, of course, Baylor is the giant stumbling block that makes me happy to be the #1 seed going in so we don't have to face them until the final, if we did.

Yeah the phantom foul on Pressey at the end of OT was pretty out there but we got some questionable calls a few weeks ago. Just hope KU fans realize this.

PS: Crowd sure seemed intense for a non-rivalry. Kudos to the Kansas governor for calling for the end of this series. Can't wait to watch TCU/KU give us a game like this next season.

LOL. Can't wait until KU's and K-States anger gets directed at the right group when UT bolts at the first opportunity for "greener pastures". I will take the football/basketball sweep on our way out the door. On to baseball?

Nah. The "innocent" posts about Mizzou by MBBF's enemies actually piss off some of the other Mizzou fans here as well. And while I like Cartman quite a bit the arrogance of the Texas fanbase as a whole makes it real easy to justify responding.

We know that this is really about Texas and their inability to share. But the 100+ year old rivalry isn't with them, it's with Mizzou.

To use a fairly bad analogy, yeah, he may be the guy you cheated with but the relationship isn't with him so you have to expect the vitriol is going to be directed at you.

You see, this what Mizzou fans can't wrap their head around. They were so intent on getting out of the Big 12 into a conference, any conference, they can't in any way comprehend how a team could turn down an offer to move, and maybe just realize the grass isn't always greener.

He's on my side. If he were a KU fan I would find it annoying, for sure. The only thing I find funny is that yourself, Mr Bug, Chubby, and MJ4H can't stand the guy, think he doesn't deserve responding to, supposedly often have him on ignore but somehow seem to respond to every one of his posts. And then the part that pisses myself and I think Mizzourah and others off is that you all come gleefully out of the woodwork after any Mizzou loss (which isn't often but still ) and stir shit up with him by bashing Mizzou.

I only post after a Mizzou loss? Or does "come out of the woodwork" have some new meaning I've missed?

Yeah. Texas and OU were intent on doing whatever they could to get a better deal so Mizzou jumped ship first. OU would love to be in the SEC right now but they have OSU tagging along with them. I have always said that I love the old Big 8 and actually find the Texas 4 schools entertaining to play but I don't blame Mizzou's admin for seeing the writing on the wall and getting out of dodge.

Um no. Not only do I not come out of the woodwork when Missouri loses, I don't think I've ever even posted about one. I simply don't care at all. As for having him on ignore and still responding to him, I only added him yesterday and haven't read or responded to him since. Nor do i plan to. If others want to play his juvenile douchebag games, feel free. It's not for me.

Top ten teams don't get blown out at home like that. They knew what Purdue would throw at them, and they had no defense. The Jayhawks knew what Missouri would throw at them, and they found a way to come back.

Last 5 minutes? Heck, the entire game was officiated horribly in both Lawrence and Columbia. Sadly, that's become the norm for the Big 12 in recent years.

I wouldn't call a 5 point loss being blown out. I've adjusted to Hardaway Jr. just kind of being there, but when he and Burke shoot badly there's simply no way this team is winning. The lack of defense didn't help either. It kind of makes me wonder if Darius Morris going pro didn't mean the team lost one of the players that helped the team achieve success last year beyond just the stats. They don't him to be a starting PG obviously, but a quality role player that helps you get through games like this. I have also given in to the idea that this team will be an early exit in the tourney some time ago. Frustrating really based on what they did last year.

It's a good old boys network. They get the same old retreads in for the conference games regardless of how bad it's become. It's similar to NFL coach hiring in that regard.

Exactly. And I'm sure it's the same in all of the college sports. There are just a lot of inept officials who seem to be happy with getting their face on a broadcast instead of actually making the correct calls **cough Hightower**.

Huskies get a win we don't deserve in Pullman. Should handle USC easily enough but need a much better performance against UCLA to lock up a berth in the NCAAs

It was 14, and Purdue controlled the game most of the way, with the exception of late in the first half and early in the second half. Burke tried to do too much, as he is wont to do lately. I think Morris at PG, with Burke at shooting guard and as a second playmaker, would have made this team much more solid. But would they have known what they had in Burke if Morris had remained?

I look at this team, and then I see what Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, Duke and Syracuse did today and there's still a long way to go. This is one year when I'm picking all 1-seeds to go to the Final Four.
