Agree!

The wording of it all just magnifies the confusion of what they are actually looking for.

Most deserving and better arent always the same thing. Trying to eliminate 1 loss teams based on their performance in likely their extreme worst performance of the year creates a lot of difficulty.

What is the difference? The four best teams are the four teams that perform the best on the field. (I am not understanding the dis-connect here.)

The four best teams according to S&P+ are Ohio St, Alabama, Georgia, Washington which is a semi unbias way of ranking teams by their on field play. But there is absolutely no way the committee will evolve into a system like this so results are going to ultimately matter.

Quote:
S&P+ rating: Using the five-factors concept above, the S&P+ ratings take into account efficiency (Success Rates), explosiveness (IsoPPP), and factors related to field position and finishing drives. It is now presented in two forms: the first is a percentile, and the second is an adjusted scoring margin specific for this specific season's scoring curve.

If they are basing it on "performance" on the field how can you take a team that has looked as vulnerable as Oklahoma lately over teams that have looked dominant the majority of the season? If they are doing their jobs correctly they need to be judging the entire body of work and not just 1 game.

WTF is going on Fox? Game gets tied with seconds left and now they put a different game on. They have a "program alert" that says something about the game being on Fox Business. They have the same game on Fox Business that they have on Fox now (Stanford/Washington State).

You get me interested in the Texas Tech game, I want to see how it ends now.

I get that for the main channel, but why have the game "moved to Fox Business" and then have the same game on that channel as what they changed the main channel to. I think they screwed up on that part.

There should be a Vegas line on the number of facepalms endured by GT fans every Saturday.

I'm not sure Greg Schiano has figured out that TEs are eligible receivers.

Coastal Carolina, having a horrible season with just one win, has some how just gone ahead in the 3rd quarter at Arkansas. Would certainly be the biggest win in team history if they can hold on.

Sometimes it's just not your day. I'm not even sure how that guy was an eligible receiver so I guess Schiano and I are in the same boat.

The razorbacks are doing poorly this year.

But I think we have the future QB in Cole Kelley.

I would like to see a new coach next year.

I am enjoying watching OSU get beat though. Maybe it really wasn't Urban's coaching but more like the SEC environment and available talent

Oh, still not quite as bad as 92 when we lost to The Citadel. Just that the BB era has not met expectations.

I dunno. That Citadel team wasn't half bad (won the SoCon, also beat Army).

Today might actually be a case of losing to a worse team than that one.

This made me laugh out loud...or as the internets nerds say, lol.

I dont have espn, so I knew I'd miss the game. Just got home and sat down to eat like 15 minutes ago and saw the score. At least now I can live the rest of the college fball season stress free and will give 2 shits less what happens.

OSU doesnt desereve to be in the college football playoff conversation for at least the next 3 years after this.

55 on OSU. Largest margin of victory against an urban Meyer team.

Among the days bigger winners (big picture) overall has to be Clemson. The outcomes elsewhere feel like they solidify their situation a fair bit.

Okay, not sure anybody outside of Arkansas that doesn't feel a little bit bad for Coastal Carolina right now has a functional heart.

That's gotta suck.

Sure does suck, but Coastal had no business even being close in this game. But both teams were clean I think-no INT's or fumbles, maybe Arkansas under estimated them. Maybe Coastal can build on this for next season when (hopefully) their head coach returns from his illness, and they are at full scholarships.

When I sat down I noticed on ESPN that Oklahoma had just gone up 55-45. Probably shouldn't have figured that a ten-point lead in the 4th was safe, but then again I don't really care much about either OK team, or the Big 12. Or for football games with college basketball scores.

I don't know that anyone is more grieved over the notion I'm about to present but, truth is truth, Georgia looks equipped to give Bama a legit game.

If they get 10 yards or less on half their possessions against Georgia, they might just be in deep trouble. That offense hasn't done a ton of scoring against anyone remotely worth a damn all season so far, if they don't fix that ... well, I can't even bring myself to say it.

Alabama looks to continue their domination.

I'll root for GA in the SEC championship game but AL is still king of the mountain until a team is more than just a speed bump.

The offense just feels like it's incredibly pedestrian this year, more than past years. The lack of a dominant breakout back, the seemingly casual play of Hurts.

How can Oklahoma have such a great offense and such an awful defense? I dont know what to make of that team. Are they going to have to try to score 60 on Alabama to beat them if they make the playoffs?

I just wish they would show some sign of having even an average defense and reward that spectacular offense with a playoff spot.
