The huge puddle of blood in the basement leaves you all confused and terrified, but that is quickly replaced by something else when suddenly hoopsguy points directly at Alan and loudly states that he somehow knows that Racer has discovered that Mr. T is in league with the Evil that keeps you all trapped here like animals in a slaughterhouse. Racer quietly confirms this statement.
Alan reacts indignantly and incredulously, quickly defending himself. Much debate ensues from everyone, ranging from acidic sniping to desperate attempts of logic. In the midst of it, Mrs. Schmidty says, “Stop!!!. I have something to say!!!”. She proceeds to describe a horrible occurrence in which she witnessed the murder and resurrection of Telle by Eaglefan. Despite denials and arguments and discussions, most people take her, Racer and hoops words at face value. Some still have suspicions, but in the end Eaglefan is descended upon by the group. At the last moment, he almost revels in his impending death, and intimates that he will destroy Racer or even Mrs. Schmidty when he dies. After a few minutes of clawing, kicking, and bludgeoning shots from encyclopedia volumes, In his last breath, Eaglefan screams “Cthulhu k'thar jah'k R'lyeh!!! VICTORY WILL BE........!!!” You quickly search his body and find no items at all, other than a small tattoo of a horrific octopus-like creature over his left breast. EAGLEFAN WAS OF THE ORDER OF R'LYEH

Very nice job. I propose we go Telle next but that may not be the popular push.

My impressions are that your mid-game changes. You add a ton of value as a villager in the Day 3-5 range, when there is some data to help make good calls. You generally see through BS (which often isn't good for me) and make the right calls when decisions are hard. As a wolf, you tend to shy away from making those same hard calls. |

Wow, what a crazy day. It took me nearly 90 minutes to read everything. I'm glad we got a wolf and my halfway through vote didn't jeopardize us.
I have a busy couple of days as I'll be out of town on a business trip and in meetings most of the work day. If I can jump during the day, I will but don't expect much commentary but I will vote especially since I think it will be an easy choice. For now, I think we should leave Alan alone and go for Telle next and work on finding the other hiding wolf.

Thank you! I'm sorry I missed out on all the discussion today, I can tell it was entertaining, lots of tales being spun by those in the hot seat. I hope all my fellow students can see through the actual lies and know Alan is bad. Telle is bad. As I said yesterday, I think there are more than them. Before Telle was converted, I believed there were at least 3 wolves (1 leader and at least 2 followers). Adding Telle made it 4 and killing EF took it down to a 3 minimum. So currently we have Telle and Alan left and at least 1 unknown. I wonder if it's like the movie The Lost Boys, if we take out the leader maybe those converted change back if they haven't already killed anyone themselves. We can hope. |

Hoopsguy: You did the right thing by calling us. Does Telle sleep a lot?
Mrs Schmidty: Yeah, all day. Racer: Does the sunlight freak her out? Mrs Schmidty: Uh, she wears sunglasses in the house. Hoopsguy: Bad breath, long fingernails? Mrs Schmidty: Yeah, her fingernails are a little bit longer, um, she always had bad breath, though. Racer: She's a vampire all right. Hoopsguy: All right, here's what you do: get yourself a good sharp stake and drive it right through her heart. Mrs Schmidty: I can't do that; she's my sister. Hoopsguy: OK, we'll come over and do it for you. Mrs Schmidty: No! Racer: You'd better get yourself a garlic T-shirt, missy, or it's your funeral. |

You do realize I was at work all day and didn't even know the game had officially started, right? I didn't know one thing about the game until a couple hours before the deadline. Not saying your logic is bad, but you're not exactly presenting an accurate picture of my Day One participation, and I would be rather put off if it got me hanged. Of course, it appears we have a few days before we have to actually look for more wolves.

Well, that was an insane day. Not sure I am happy I wasn't here or not. Fun factor would have been huge. But so would have the stress.
Okay, now this is really easy to say in hindsight, and I am not going to say I never had doubts while I was reading, but honestly, people, once you parse through some of the ridiculous arguments tossed out, it was pretty logically clear that hoops is telling the truth. And even though Eaglefan was a wolf (great get), I would have voted Alan T. He is far more dangerous. That's not a sleight to EF, whom I have seen play wolves terrifically. It's a nod of respect to Alan--the guy is as dangerous as they come. hoopsguy is dangerous like that, too, but logic was on his side. There was no logical reason for him to make the moves he made as a villager. I question the wisdom of revealing Racer as the seer, but I understand trying to jump the gun on Alan. The one thing EF's lynching does is ensure Mrs. S is in the clear, and Telle is a wolf. That's one heck of an introduction to the game, and she played it well. If there is a villager with a night kill ability, I would highly recommend using it (on Alan or Telle). There is no reason to string this out three days if we don't have to. In any case, I will put in my vote now to be sure. VOTE ALAN T I assume he won't be the NK target, being a wolf, but just in case... VOTE TELLE (conditional on Alan T being NK'd I actually plan to be home for the deadline, but I will certainly be out most of the day.

Whoops, bad word choice. I got myself flipped around. I was trying to say that it didn't make any sense for hoops to make the moves he made as a hypothetical wolf. Ergo, he must be a villager. Occam's razor people. No way I buy the over-complicated scenarios before I test the simple and obvious.

Okay geniuses, what do you expect to happen that will clear up Alan/hoops/Racer? Seems like that case was as clear as it could get, with the seer having scanned Alan, while we kinda took a chance on the other case.

I'm not saying we made it unclear -- I'm saying that I'm guessing it's not going to get MORE clear once night actions are done. A lot of people said something to the effect of: Let's get EF or Telle now, which will give us a day to figure out Alan/hoops/Racer. I still don't know how we can possibly get anything figured out there. Meanwhile, we could have scanned one of EF/Mrs. Schmidty/Telle to be sure of ourselves there. Granted, we chose right, but looking back, I think it was bad play on our part. |

Ok, but it sure sounds odd to hear that lynching a wolf was a bad play. We now know we have 2 wolves in hand and can now work on the other scenario. We still have the Private Eye and the seer in play and we know we can trust the private eye. Who does the wolf hit? That's the big question before we can figure anything else out. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now.

I'm personally hoping that Racer was able to find a wolf and then he will see the difference between what he got for me and what he got for the wolf in messages. Maybe I'm not all that nice of a guy, but I'm not a wolf. If you want to kill me off then you'll prevent me from reaching my goal but won't really help yourself much. |

Alan, if your personal goal was to outlast me then you have the ability to take care of that between now and 9.
Otherwise, I'll be around to see what the next PM looks like - hopefully it is very similar to the one about you. |

If anyone has time to do it today, a vote analysis from the first couple of days with EF as a bad guy makes sense. I know Racer started this process yesterday, so either re-visiting his work or taking a fresh look at it would make some sense.
Also, remember that Telle was a villager/studen the first two days before being converted by EF. So there isn't necessarily value in tracking her actions. |

The one thing that still doesn't sit well with me is Hoops outing Racer. I really don't think he would do that as a villager - especially that early in the day before Racer even logged in to be able to decide whether or not he wanted to out himself.
I have no doubt that Racer is telling the truth and that Alan is a wolf, so I say we lynch him next. But after that (and after lynching Telle the next day), we need to look at Hoops. Something isn't right there. I was thinking that a possibility is that Hoops' special role was all made up and that he is a wolf set up to look like the good guy and get into a CoT by outing Alan (who they knew was toast anyway). BUT, that doesn't quite work because Hoops also knew who Racer's night one scan target was - Render. So maybe Hoops really does have a role we haven't seen before who can see the scan results from Racer. But, I'm not sold on him being a villager due to the way he made his reveal. |
