I think I may head into the library and see if I can fight whatever is in there. It beat Kwhit to a pulp, but if there's only one of them I'll have a better chance ambushing them. I may have 3-10 hands to fight in the other room.

So you Battle Mages get to pick a new spell when you go up a level? My impression from the rules was that you only gained new spells from finding scrolls. It was part of the reason I didn't pick one.

Wight on. I think ultimately it was an excellent idea to open that thing. Now I have this sweet magic belt that I have no idea about, a little extra money, and almost enough xp for level 3. Today we meet up with a healer who I may need to ask a favor of, however.

Definitely. If Thomkal wants to buy these for his movement today, I can just repurchase more at the djinn sale.

Do you know what spells are on the scrolls?

The wight put up a good fight but it was not enough for us. Hopefully your belt does something cool that will help us as we explore the dungeon down the line.

Hey JAG, no idea on either scroll as I can't read them just that my illiterate self figured out that they were wizardy and stuff.

I'm looking to visit the sale as well today.

Agreed. If we can figure out what it does, that would be cool.. It may behoove us to put it on the lay healer if it enhances defense. We'll need to keep that dude alive to heal us while we handle the heavy lifting. Glad to have a little cash to blow at the Djinni sale today. Lets go back and meet our new ally, shall we?

Today. I'm leaning towards insulting one also, as I feel like I need to pick up the pace XP wise and getting to level two will make me a lot more formidable in combat.

You might even put in a Grab a Scroll action, and see if the sprite comes up. Between the two of us, we should be able to take care of it. But that's up to you.

Just a thought, but maybe you could go to the library and then move left or right. There's risk you could find a nasty room but there's also a chance you could end up in a room someone else has been or that has an easier encounter than one that beat KWhit to a pulp, and that way you don't waste as much time as going back to your starting room.

The library is the (other) room Kwhit got beat in. I'm going to skip the leaping hands room - we were attacked by 10 of those in total, and while I killed two of them, I don't know how many would attack me. I don't like those odds.

There's something in the library that attacked Kwhit, but I'll hope 1. it's alone, 2. it's killable, and 3. I get a good ambush roll.

I agree, from there I can hopefully find somebody. If I'm alive.

JAG, the one warning I have for you with the leprechauns is this:

I insulted one the first time and fought one.

The second time I insulted them I fought two and had to be saved by the pixies.

The question is if it'll reset to battling one when you insult them OR it'll up the ante to three or maybe even four (if it doubles each time).

He took an action in the library to trip the monster though, because it wasn't until afternoon action that he ended up in your room. I'm saying you can just refuse to take that action and try an unknown room rather than a monster you know was able to knock around a fully healed + chain armored + shielded fighter.

Seems to me the investment of 50gp will get you a lot more than that in potential XP / treasure in a new room, but if you'd rather sit tight that's up to you. I don't think my offer was unreasonable, seemed like a won-win for us both.

I'm up for bold and daring. Thus far I've insulted three leprechauns, fought a giant snake, and jumped (willingly) into a pool of acid (of course, it was described as water but I had an inkling).

Bold and daring may ultimately lead me to equip this new sword w/o knowing for sure whether or not it is cursed. Of course, I have horrible recollections of a pink curse from an ancient ancestor.

My guess is that's a mechanism to prevent sitting in the same room. As it will be my first visit, I expect to only fight one. At least that happened last dungeon in this very room actually, I tried fighting another and it gave less XP and treasure.

So basically I attack it today, tomorrow we link up and since I won't have used spells, I can ID all the stuff you need, then pass the sword and other stuff back to you Monday morning before we hit our first room together.

Sounds like a plan. JAG, from my map, did you come from below me (in other words are you turning right or left to get into the leprechaun room)?

The reason I ask is that if we head the opposite way you came from, we may even run into a third party member. By the way, any good names for our group yet?

Great! So did you get a Paper Sprite or an actual scroll? I am guessing since you're level two now, you got the sprite? It was in beating the sprite that I also got to level two.

Unfortunately, the sprite gave me no gold, and I spent all of mine at the last Djinn sale. So whatever you have right now is what we have. We'll talk about it this afternoon.

While you're at the Djinn sale, I'll probably grab a scroll and see if it is always a sprite that shows up or if there are actual scrolls there. I might give you a spider pincer I got off of the cave spider, see if we can get anything of value from that.

BTW, I rang the gong. It didn't do anything.

I'm turning right to get to the Lep. room. I only visited the outer ring, so it's possible someone has visited the other rooms adjacent to mine on the second ring (if that makes sense). I think we have better options from the Lep. room, but let's see what happens over the next 24 hours before we finalize plans.

Party name? Unpink?

Something weird is going on. According to pm hoops entered from the door pn my left, but according to our reported movements that is impossible, he should have entered from the door on my right. Now im confused on where to go so that we dont backtrack to his previous room
