Maybe, but you fight until the ref stops you. Much the same like Henderson did to Bisping.

And to Mike Goldberg - Leicester is pronounced the same as in Frank LESTER godammit!!! Somebody should have told you after TUF!

Good night for most of the English fighters, but Hardy's gonna get slaughtered next time out.

Not sure what to make of Bisping: 2nd round wa great, but he got stunned again - has Henderson left him with a poor punch resistance now?

well I think you have a choice right then to be able to market yourself as 'merciful' and get all the talk about that afterwards, headlines, etc. OR you get to look like Hendo afterwards. Id think 'merciful' and capitalizing on it would be good

Not when your opponent is obviously out cold as he hits the ground. It's not like he was just stunned, he was out cold. Nothing good can come from those extra punches.

I think part of the blame is on the ref. You watch that Winner match and you can see that not only is he backing away from the action, he's almost on the other side of the octagon when that punch lands. I guess we should be happy that the first punch landed on the shoulder because that was the more powerful of the two he threw after the guy was out.

Looks like Brock went under the knife with a minor surgery and is already feeling better. Seems like he'll be on track to be back this year to fight the winner of the inevitable Cain/Carwin fight. If he's out a full year then he'll fight whoever wins that fight vs Big Nog I assume.

wishing the Monster the best and hope he gets well so he can get whooped in the cage.

Wow. Randy vs Mark Coleman at 109. I actually love that fight as both guys still can go.

That is also the targeted show for Anderson vs Vitor.

Add in Hughes vs Renzo Gracie and Frank Trigg vs Matt Serra already on there, and you have one star studded, albeit old, show.

is that UFC 109 or a typo and it was the old UFC 79 show?

With the exception of Anderson/Vitor it could be either one.

You got it with old. Man, really freakin' old. It really doesn't excite me all that much. Silva/Vitor could be interesting, but I don't really see much for Couture or Coleman to gain.

For Randy, it would seem a win over Vera would have moved him further up the food chain than that, and Coleman is just never going to contend again, sort of like Wanderlei, he's just an old name that can sell tix, but in the end a win for either guy, just doesn't do much for the division.

how long has it been since Trigg fought and was smoked by Matt Hughes anyways? That's pretty much the last time he's been in a cage in an actual fight right?

Trigg has a couple of quality wins over Misaki and Mayhem since getting beat by Hughes the 2nd time, but those were both in rings and not cages. He is a solid 2nd tier fighter still, the fight between him and Serra is the only one of those three that sounds even mildly appealing or competitive.

Couture vs. Coleman is absolutely terrible and I hope that doesn't happen. Couture is coming off a win over a legit 205'er, keep him moving up the chain or at least put him against a guy who has a fair amount to gain by beating him. This makes no sense to me.

Hughes vs. Renzo is more interesting than the Royce matchup but not by much. I haven't seen Renzo fight in a long time, and while he is definitely more well rounded, he shouldn't be a problem for Hughes at all.

These all sound pretty bad though, and none should above a card opener.

Can't wait for Aldo and Brown tonight.

We did, I was trying to ironically make the reverse point to the Bisping situation, thinking that that I had being vocal against Henderson doing it to the Count last time - just checked and I actually didn't post on the subject, so the irony might not have been lost: it might have needed a GPS to be found!

The point is neither were right, but apparently it's OK if it's the American hero doing it to the Brit who is clearly playing up to the cameras to sell PPVs. Meh - not worth an argument over it.

i think it's more because people feel that whatever his nationality may be, Bisping is a cocky asshole.

i could care less if he's from America, Poland, Nigeria...it doesn't matter worth a shit to me. What pisses me off about him is his cocky attitude and the disrespect that he showed to Matt Hamill, who for chrissakes is a deaf guy doing MMA during TUF.

Just ordered 106 to watch tonight...My 9 year old has been getting into watching it and asking about the moves and styles over the past year with me.

He currently practices Capoeira and we found an MMA center near us I might get him into for the training so when he gets older if he wants to continue he can.

Saunders is an asshole. I know we've debated punching after someone is out but that last punch he threw was not only after Davis was done but while the ref was between them stopping the fight.

Yeah, that was brutal. He looked like he went over to apologize to someone cageside. Maybe Dana? But nevertheless, not a cool move. Almost on par with Babalu and definitely on par with BJ/

Damn it, I think Rumble just ended this fight early with that.

Edit: Hmm, obviously an illegal shot, but doesn't look like it landed the way it originally looked. Almost would like to see Kos pull this off now.

BS. That knee was all forearm. Yes he should be docked a point for the knee but that was a finger to the eye.

Yeah but it's the wrong eye he is complaining about from the poke.

Yeah I dunno wtf happened. The post round replay looks like it clearly shows the knee missed his face. I think he was milking it from an earlier shot.

Nice sub for Koscheck but I wish we didn't have those stoppages. I'd rather see a rematch from tonight then Koscheck vs Hardy. I want Hardy vs GSP.

Most of the hatred comes from his time on TUF when he came across as a pretty stereotypical jock asshole. He has milked that ever since.

Guy is a solid fighter though, and I still can't believe why Rumble was actually favored in that fight.

To be honest though, what he said was pretty accurate and I'd rather see Koscheck vs. Hardy then Hardy vs. GSP, but you have to throw someone to the slaughter, so it might as well be Hardy.

Been a really solid night of fights considering it looked rather lackluster on paper.

Forrest is impressing me here. Tito still has the elbows that he always has.

I think this will go to Tito but it should probably be a split decision to Forrest.

EDIT: Mid edit but it was a SD to Forrest.

Good decision, was afraid that this would be another screwjob.

Tito had nothing to offer in that last round. Good fight until that point.

Yep.

I would hope we get a 3rd fight between them before the end of 2010. Neither fight was dominating by either fighter, just two good fights and one more will sell itself well enough.
