Haha! I can totally see that.

I've heard the same thing about Russia as you have though. It always made me wonder how do they know when to get to the airport in time so they don't miss the plane.

Could someone please tell Trenton's family that Trenton doesn't like football? That he has zero talent in relation to football? That he has no desire to play football? That he should stick with video games?

I'd say that they should know this already. After all, they've attended the last two practices, but apparently his complete lack of desire and ability has gone undetected so far.

To My Loving Wife,

We're not all six freaking two around here, you know. I have no problem putting the toilet seat down when I'm done - would it kill you to adjust the showerhead down afterwards so that I don't get water up my nose when I turn on the spray?

With All My Heart,
Your Adoring Husband

I'm about 5'9". Yeah, when she was in college the athletic department kept trying to talk her into walking on the women's basketball team. She slouches a lot, so we only look a few inches apart, but she's a big girl.

Off to the HS football scrimmage in a few, we'll use tonight as a dress rehearsal for the regular season webcasts. Plans call for me to be back in the color commentary saddle this year while my son is scheduled to debut as the studio pre-game host (not my idea, the faculty sponsor pushed for it).

And naturally, since I'm involved, looks like we're in for a second straight year of wet & stormy weather on scrimmage night.

Just had a surreal conversation with a sentient spambot today. Imagine 30 second dalys between each post from the spambot.

doug > need password for comcast.com
Kristoffer > Hello doug_, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Kristoffer. Please give me one moment to review your information.
Kristoffer > I hope you have not waited too long to be assisted. I am so glad to have you on chat today, Doug!
Kristoffer > How are you doing today?
doug_ > ok
Kristoffer > Glad to know that you are good, Doug!
Kristoffer > I understand that you are having problem in logging in to your online account because you don't know what is your password.
doug_ > yes
Kristoffer > I deeply apologize for any undue inconvenience this log-in issue has caused you, Doug.
Kristoffer > I truly understand where you are coming from.
Kristoffer > I know how frustrating it can be if we are unable to access our online account.
Kristoffer > Do not worry.
Kristoffer > As your service representative today, Doug, I want you to know that your satisfaction is of my topmost priority and I assure you that we can resolve this log-in issue together on this chat.
doug_ > wow - how about just resetting my password
Kristoffer > Just to confirm, is this the first time you had problem in acessing your online account?
doug_ > i can't remember - i haven't tried to login to the website in a long time if ever
Kristoffer > Oh, alright, Doug.
Kristoffer > Thanks so much for bringing up this issue to my attention.
Kristoffer > For me to better assist you, I will need to pull up your account information first.
Kristoffer > Please give me a minute or two while I pull up your account.
doug_ > ok
Kristoffer > While waiting on the line, Doug, let me share to you a great online Comcast feature that you can truly benefit from.
Kristoffer > Did you know that Comcast’s EcoBill is the environmentally friendly way to view and pay your bill online. Sign-In to Comcast customerCentral, click the Account & Bill tab, click on the Set-up paperless billing button below the bill details section. The easy-to-follow on screen process will quickly allow you to turn off paper statements and manage your bill online.
Kristoffer > I hope you will find it useful in the future.
doug_ > *sigh*
Kristoffer > Thanks so much for waiting.
Kristoffer > I already have the account with me, Doug.
Kristoffer > Thank you!
Kristoffer > Thanks so much for that information.
Kristoffer > First of all, our two major sites, that is comcast.com and comcast.net have been merged, into one online billing payment system - CUSTOMER CENTRAL.
Kristoffer > And along with this change, all customers with High Speed Internet connection with us have been provided with a primary comcast.net user name to use for online bill pay, Doug.
Kristoffer > Would you like me to reset the password for you?
doug_ > *stares blankly*
Kristoffer > Sure, please give me 2 minutes.
Kristoffer > Thanks so much for waiting.
Kristoffer > The new password is : xxxxxx
Kristoffer > Please try to log-in and see if it works or not.
doug_ > works - thanks
Kristoffer > Perfect!
Kristoffer > You're welcome!
Kristoffer > We have resolved your log in issue by providing your primary user name, and resetting the password, Doug.
Kristoffer > It has been my pleasure serving you today and I truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation, Doug. Do you have other concerns for me today? I will be glad to assist you further.
doug_ > no that's it - tjhanks
Kristoffer > You're welcome!
Kristoffer > Can I ask a favor from you today?
doug_ > ok
Kristoffer > Thank you!
Kristoffer > Can you answer the 3 question survey for me that will pop up after clicking on the END SESSION button?
Kristoffer > This will help us serve you better in the future.
Kristoffer > Thanks so much in advance, Doug.
doug_ > ok
Kristoffer > I really appreciate it.
Kristoffer > I'd like to thank you for choosing Comcast. You have yourself a great evening!
Kristoffer > We strive to exceed your expectations and hope that you will take a moment to complete the 3 question survey that will follow our interaction, your feedback will help us to continue improving how we serve you.
Kristoffer > Do you want to watch full TV shows and movies online? Go to click here Thank you for choosing Comcast as your cable TV provider and have a great day! This is not a random thought but a stone cold FACT!

Snyders has now expanded into the tortilla chip market. Tostitos, you have been replaced permanently. Just the right thickness to stand up to cheese dips and salsas, perfectly salted. Delicious!

Not so in Russia and the former Soviet Republics. I've always heard this about them, and at first, it sounded "laid back" and kind of cool, but in practice, when you have work to do, and appointments, its just maddening. They don't give a shit about time, particulary your time.

I have the same feeling about doing business in a few U.S. markets as well though. There are distinct differences in the approach to the value of time in certain cities versus what I'd consider the norm.

Trenton didn't make our weigh in yesterday...I was hopeful that meant his parents were taking him off the football team. Unfortunately, she texted me today asking if he made it...blah blah blah.

I'm hoping they still take him off the team...but I'm less hopeful than I was.

I was bored & reading Knight Rider trivia.

Quote:
According to Brandon Tartikoff, the head of programming at NBC during the 1980s, the inspiration for the series came about when NBC executives started complaining about the problems of casting handsome leading men in TV series, because many of them couldn't act. Tartikoff and his assistant came up with a concept for a TV show called, "The Man of Six Words". Each show would begin with the leading man getting out of a woman's bed and saying, "Thank you." Occasionally, throughout the show, the leading man would say, "Okay," when receiving orders from his boss. Then he would chase down some villains and say "Freeze!" Finally, when the people he had saved from death would thank him, he would say, "You're welcome." For the rest of the show, the car would do all the talking. Although Tartikoff had meant the pitch to be a joke, the NBC executives liked the idea of a TV show about a man with a talking car, and approved it for development.

I think The Man of Six Words would be better than practically any show on tv today.

Yucky day, one of my annual least favorite days of the year.

School open house this evening before my son goes back for another 180 grinding days.

2 hours of droning followed by a night of mourning

If you don't mind spending $15-20, I'd very highly recommend Plants vs Zombies. Perfect time-waster and a ton of playtime. Would be great for a flight or layover and I am pretty sure you can download it.

Surprised there are no posts here yet about Petrino getting the news girl fired, yet. I will stay out of the them when they show up here, but please take note that Petrino had nothing to do with it except say he wouldn't answer her questions while wearing a gator hat. Also, she got fired for her facebook and twitter comments, not the hat. She was also told she shouldn't be wearing the hat by a colleague before the PC started and she refused to change to a hat he offered to buy for her.

The national media are all over this and getting the story horribly wrong, and this girl is both not telling the whole story, and lying to the national media.

Anyway, like I said, I will stay out of it, because the Petrino thing never goes well, but there is much more to the story than the national media is covering. That's all I will say on it here.

MJ4Coke, you are gay.

I say that because if I would have said the same thing Petrino did.

Because when I read the story I thought, "Serves her right."

Because, well, you're an Arkansas fan.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

A day that I thought I'd never live long enough to see, my old hometown finally gets its own Wal-Mart, as of about 15 minutes ago. In my 43 years, I really think this is probably the biggest thing to happen in the county, although I guess getting a Waffle House a few years ago would be right up there too.

Going out of your way to point out the story when no one else has bothered yet, and pulling a classic MBBF and saying "there's more to the story than you know but I won't talk about it and don't have any links for you but everyone but me and my insider source that I also can't or won't talk about are wrong" (has this *ever* been met with anything but eye-rolling and disdain here at FOFC? Its the single worst card one can play w/ regard to college sports on this forum)... yeah, I am struggling to imagine a worse way for the story to hit the forum from your perspective. Maybe post a naked chick in the same post so you get boxed and can't defend from the petrino bashing you're begging for would be worse. Well done

"What are Radii?" was the question in a Daily Double on a Jeopardy episode I watched last night.
