Congrats to Kansas. Texas played much better in the 2nd half, but whenever they would start to creep up on Kansas, the Jayhawks didn't fold.

You guys had a late night last night and I think just ran out of gas today.

I don't know what to make of the Longhorns, right now. Back when you guys beat us in Lawrence, you were one of the top couple of teams in the country. You might still be, but the couple of losses down the stretch give me pause when filling out my bracket.

What do you think of Texas's chances?

In the tournament, it all goes down to matchups. As long as Texas plays defense like they did the bulk of the season, they should go pretty far. Hopefully they will get the #2 seed in either the New Orleans or San Antonio region. When they went to the Final Four in 2003 they were the #2 seed in the New Orleans region, and had just finished a 13-3 conference campaign. Hopefully history repeats itself!

Some moron keeps heckling the singer of the national anthem before the Big East Championship.

The end of the Washington - Arizona game was great, it's a shame I only caught the last 5-10 minutes of regulation and OT.

Washington games are so great to watch when they play well and so hard to watch when they don't. Its hard to believe its the same team between the games against Arizona this year and the losses to WSU and the Oregon schools.

I can't help but wonder if the Overton situation was affecting the mentality of the team, and now that it finally got out in the open and Romar publicly suspended him, the team kicks it up a notch. Maybe it's a coincidence - certainly didn't hurt that Ross and Wilcox were consistently good the last 3 games.

I don't think it's official yet (as in announced by the University), but local news outlets are now reporting that John Pelphrey is done.

edit to add local media caveat since they've been wrong probably more than they've been right.

UConn will probably have an easier run in the NCAA tourney than they had in the Big East tourney. They certainly earned the title this year.

So we are looking at Ohio State, Kansas, Duke/UNC winner, and ? for #1 seeds. I figure San Diego St, UConn, Duke/NC loser as #2s.

That leaves Texas, Pitt, Kentucky(possible #1???), and Notre Dame.

Perhaps if NC wins both them and Duke get #1s.

If they aren't so beat that they fall flat in the first round, they're going to go far. That first-round game is big for them.

It's amazing that this UConn team has gone this far; they're one of the youngest teams in the nation, was supposed to be rebuilding, and was looking at the NIT. Just amazing...Kemba and The Cubs are a historic team in UConn annals, no matter what happens in the next three weeks.

True, but ask Syracuse how well their 2006 Big East tourney run went for them in the NCAAs.

I really think Pitt is a lock as a #1. The opening round loss to UConn obviously looks considerably better now that the Huskies won the BE tourney (and beat two very good teams in 'Cuse and Louisville to get there).

I think Duke is a lock with the ACC title. I think Notre Dame probably gets the 4th over UNC if the Tarheels win it.

Going into tonight, Lunardi had BYU #7 and Texas #8 overall (Kentucky was #14 -- Florida was #10), so those two are probably out of the conversation with losses today and Kentucky is probably too far out to move up to the top line.

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised to see them popped on the first weekend. Just thinking that beating Pitt, Louisville, Syracuse, and Georgetown in succession (along with an obviously terrible DePaul) is probably about as tough as they would have if all of their NCAA matchups went chalk.

I keep forgetting about ND. They do deserve a #1 seed I believe with how they played this year. On the other hand Im not certain they are a top 4 team in the country so who knows.

They never really make it clear if they are rewarding teams for a great season or trying to actually rank out what teams they feel are the best in the country at this time.

And I hope Pitt does get the #1. They are always underrated.

I can see Duke being a bracket buster this year. One cold shooting game and a matchup against a physical center and they are in trouble.

I remember years ago Cincinnati got a #1 seed even though the selectors knew their best player at the time (Kenyon Martin) would miss the tournament. Granted, this was awhile back and the committee might not do things the same way these days.

I've never really felt that. I feel like they are constant underachievers in tournament play, but I don't remember feeling they are underseeded. I don't follow them close or anything but they are near, maybe at the top of the list of teams I always pick to exit a round or two earlier than expected in all my brackets just b/c they are pitt.

I still don't think UNC deserves a #1 seed based on their full body of work but if they do win tomorrow they may be the hottest team in the country over their last 10 games which is a factor I think? If Duke wins I think Swaggs is right on, Ohio State/Kansas/Pitt/Duke. If UNC wins I think its a tossup between UNC and Notre Dame, I'd give it to Notre Dame personally and have UNC the top #2 seed.

I see Notre Dame as an early out, perhaps before the Sweet 16 even.

They're a solid senior team, but not really athletic and I can see a lower seed matching their speed/skill and overcoming by being hungrier.

Yeah I guess I wasnt thinking this way when I made that statement. I was mostly talking about how they seem to be towards the top of the Big East every year despite losses and despite experts projecting a down year. It seems like they finish above their projections most years. They are the Wisconsin of the Big East. I should have clarified.

3rd straight flat, horrible, turnover prone start for UNC. Hopefully they get whatever this is out of their damn system before next weekend. So frustrating.

Spotting Miami and Clemson 10 point halftime leads just wasn't enough, lets give Duke 14 to try to come back from!! Duke shows a level of defensive intensity that UNC simply doesn't possess, and Duke shoots 62% from the floor. Sigh. There's usually a run to be made in these games, and maybe Carolina can do something to get Barnes some better looks than the "drive into a doubleteam" strategy they employed in the first half.

Duke's entire front line has 2 fouls each, but I think Strickland with 3 fouls and McDonald 2 fouls may be a bigger concern.

For those of us in ACC territory we don't get the ESPN feed instead getting the ACC Network on local TV.

One thing that means in Charlotte is no A-10 title game and we didn't get the Big 10 Semis yesterday since our CBS affilate is the ACC Network channel.

I usually like high energy announcers even if their energy is misplaced at times But like henry said, I'm watching this on CBS.

aha, well he is lucky then. I am not a Dick V hater but they really shouldn't let someone who is so partial towards one team do that teams games. It is a bit of an embarrassment.

Losing to Duke in the title game isn't so terrible, but the fact that UNC had three really poor performances in a row is quite troubling. Hopefully they get back to being a good basketball team Thursday or Friday.

Rich Rodriquez is still looking for work. It'd take him 3 years to install his offense and then another 2 to realize he's coaching basketball but you'd get guaranteed entertainment.
